Dupe

The circle of Traveler's froze, looking at their leader with those very solemn dark eyes. The big man straightened as if willing himself not to collapse under the strain he was under. His eyes where fierce with anger, but Brenton could tell it was not directed at him. The cheif thought very long before finally saying simply.

"Yes."

Brenton nodded he gave the man a sincere look, and said.

"I can not begin to apologize enough for all the injustice you have suffered here. I do not know what could have become of your daughter, but I will do everything in my power to help you find out."

" You will understand if we are sceptical of the offer. Too many bad things have happened here, and after we find out the truth we will be forbidding any of our people to return here." The cheif looked just so sad again as he said the last. Brenton nodded and said.

"That is understandable though we will be sorry to see you leave. I will return after I find any information." Brenton bowed once more than turned to leave.

"We are not that foolish. Do you really think we can just let you walk out of here? How do we know that she isn't being hurt? You are the first person to approach us, do you really think we wouldn't be suspicious of you?"

"Sir, I can understand your situation, but if I am to learn anything of importance I must go." Brenton tried to remain patient. He had a plan if he could just get away from prying eyes. The chief bowed his head looking a bit defeated.

"Very well, I think you are our only hope at answers." He turned and strode back into the large tent. A small woman looked at him with bloodshot eyes. The look was pitiful, and he couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt as he turned his back to head home.

Treasca looked around trying to figure out just what to do next. She was still standing there when a hand pressed across her mouth. She yelped a cry of suprise muted by the large hand.

"You sure made short work of giving your master the slip. I thought I would be having to wait weeks for you to try, but here you are." The man she was pressed against wrapped his free hand around her waist like a vice so she couldn't wiggle free. "Brenton is a fool. I will take you for myself, and once we are joined we can over power that brat king, and set ourselves up as rulers of all."
