Brenton paced his office like a tiger in a cage. What was wrong with that vexing female. He had shown her every courtesy. He figured she worried about her family, but they where just humans she would out live them at least ten times over. He hoped that instructing Treasca would help bring them closer. He needed to claim her before something else figured out what a prize he had caught.

Treasca refused to rush her meal. She took delicate bites ignoring Delyn's anxious stare. If Brenton wanted her computer so damn badly he could wait. She saw no need to bow to his every whim.

'He is a dragon, and a king he could just kill you.' A part of her thought, but she had to rebel against this fate or she would go mad. At last she could eat not one more bite. Sighing she got to her feet. Delyn stepped forward and said, "If you could come with me m'lady."

Treasca said nothing but followed subdued. She had never been very verbose even with her own family, and now she felt even less inclined to speak. It seemed to irritate Brenton which pleased her far more than it should. Delyn held open a very ornate door not too far from the garden they had eaten in, and motioned her forward.

Inside Brenton paused midstride at seeing her. He look flustered. That made her rather pleased with herself.

"First, I feel like it is important for me to tell you something. You are not human." Brenton seemed very serious eye fixed on hers. Treasca busted out laughing that was absurd of course she was.

Brenton looked at Delyn absolutely perplexed. He mouthed at him 'Why is she laughing?' Delyn just shrugged as confused as he was. He cleared his throat, and continued.

"Have you ever heard of a cuckoo bird?" He asked.
