Alonian

The sun had just started to dip behind the trees as they crossed the bridge to Alonian. The palace guards waved them through with huge smiles on their faces excited to see them. It had been nearly eighteen years since the Traveler's had passed these gates, but a centennial celebration was just too tempting for them to stay away. They where directed to a section of the festival grounds where they could set up their tents and booths. Treasca helped fashion a stage out of a cart and brightly colored clothes that would complement her dancing costume the next day. It was a blue with silver coins woven about it to make her jingle as she moved. It was a bit revealing, but it did always draw a crowd. They where set up in record time tomorrow they would have performances of dancing, acrobatics, sword dancing, and even fire eating. The booths would sell all manner of sweets and delicacies from all of their stops. Anything and everything would be brought out to sell. She would even be offering her medical skills and potions. Treasca yawned looking around everyone had worked late into the night to be ready stopping only to eat a bit of bread and cheese before getting back to work. The job done at last everyone of them headed to their beds sleeping in a circle around their goods. A few men stood guard just to make sure thieves or worse didn't make off with something or someone.

The next day everyone was awake just before dawn dressing in costume and painting their faces in various designs. Caroline just put some lip tint and kole on Treasca's eyes. Caroline would be walking amongst the crowd asking for tips dressed in a similar way as Treasca, but in red instead of blue. Caroline's pregnant belly was slightly rounded now still to early for a proper bump, but still Treasca had banned her from her usual acrobatics. It was far too early for conversation so each girl just sat in wait in comfortable silence. By the time the first bell had rang people where streaming their way. Every thirty minutes Treasca would preform, it wasn't always the same but each time drew a huge crowd. Rownen would play a drumb setting the pace Treasca would dance to. It was a game between the two siblings too see just who could keep up. It was her fourth dance of the day when a man caught her eye he had pure white hair like that of an old man, but his face looked young as hers. His eyes watched her hungrily, not something Treasca was unused to, but she felt drawn to his eyes for some reason. She sent out small balls of colorful lights around her the crowd cheered loudly amazed. She hadn't ment to do it, but her need to impress this stranger was nearly overwhelming. She finished with a flurry going into splits and bursting the colored balls of magic so it looked like confetti raining from the sky. The man tilted his head at Treasca smirking at her condescendingly. She gave him a small shrug and went back stage making way for the acrobats.

"What was that about?" Rownen asked a bit miffed. " When I asked you to do magic in the performances before you scolded me about not using it for something trivial." Treasca nodded not sure what to say.

"This seems like a special occasion though." She said at last. She glanced back at the crowd, but the man was no longer anywhere in sight. Treasca shook her head to clear it before sinking into a cushion to rest a few minutes.
