100 Hot Spots

Blush had activated her earring which had changed her back to her human appearance so her long pointed ears, small sharp fangs and pastel pink skin had been removed.

A fourteen year old girl with pastel green hair and bright red eyes full of intelligence was stood in her place but there was a trace of something else deep within her eyes along with the small black dot in the middle of her forehead that added an air of mystery or wisdom to her overall atmosphere.

She had matured a little more over the months that had passed and had grown a little taller with some added curves and bumps.

A lot of the previous malnutrition and problems with her body had no longer got in the way of her growth since she had left Dr Gero so there had been gradual growth in her body that had started to catch up to those her own age.

Either it was due to her demon lineage that had influenced her faster growth once she gained a healthier body that let her mature faster than others so she could catch up to other human girls her age and grow taller than some of them or she had just possessed good genes that would result in her being tall.

Among those in her lineage or blood relations, there were many that were very tall and slender compared to a lot of humans but there were some exceptions among her siblings that had not inherited that from their father's side of the family.

Fizz was an example of those that had inherited parts that the family head wanted to achieve but there had been some features like her petite body type, blonde hair and lack of pointed ears that had been taken from her mother's side.

Blush had been at the stage where she had started to mature a little later than most her age due to her bodies condition but had started to develop and grow more once she had reached thirteen and fourteen when she had been a lot healthier and physically fit.

Her body had become a fuller shape but had yet to fill out yet and she still had some time to go before she had fully reached the stage where she had reached an adult height and her body started to slow its growth down.

She was looking forward to the day where she would have a healthy adult body and appearance that would be much better to move around in and get things done with less difficulties.

It became tiring for her to have the appearance of a young teen when she had the mind of an adult for various reasons and one of them was that others had looked down on her once they had seen what age range she was within.

It resulted in several annoying moments when she was treating some people along with Old Smith and it had made it difficult for her to convince others to accept her help at times unless she had exposed her magic or capabilities early.

Blush had estimated that it would be not be long before she started entering the final stages of growth where she would become a great beauty with a tall and mature body shape but it would not be until a little later that she would be left greatly disappointed and was left with an issue that had been discovered.

What she had later discovered was not ever mentioned in the family records and had only happened to her so she found it a small nuisance but it was not something that would affect her too negatively and would not be discovered until a little time later.

Blush had went on to continue her practice for a little while longer as her energies had started to stabilise after it had experienced a sudden increase after reaching the first stage of her training method.

Once she had started to find it easier to enter the mountain, it had become much easier to search through the entrances and tunnels within the mountain.

Blush had used some magic to gain access to some of the minerals that were buried within so she had been able to excavate some valuable pieces of uncut jewels that had formed along with some mineral deposits.

The walls had softened and loosened up a little to allow for the good stuff to be pulled out without being damaged so the value of the things she gained would earn her a great amount of Zeni to fund her activities if she did not use them herself.

The group had been brought together and continued on their journey until they had walked towards a large castle that looked very dark and gloomy.

Grimwood had led the group as she surveyed the surroundings and had activated a spell which had helped her in her investigations. "Some activity should be around this way. I have explained a lot of the stuff already to you all but allow me to go over it again in more detail.

Think of the supernatural or magical world as an existence that most people would not encounter in their everyday lives unless they were born into it. Those exposed to such things and know about them have a higher tendency to get involved in such events again."

Blush listened to her explanation and thought to herself. "Hmm.. it sounds a lot like the phrase 'Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you'.

Grimwood went on to explain further. "Those born into or exposed to supernatural events have a higher probability of getting involved with the supernatural again. There are cases where it may be down to coincidence, their place of living or just them being able to perceive such things better than others that resulted in this.

I will talk more about the locations now and the relation to that. Witches and other supernatural creatures have a natural affinity and attraction to certain locations in the world. These locations are referred to as Ley Lines and where they meet or are centred towards has several names.

The energies gathered in those meeting places are much stronger and have a larger attracting force to those belonging to the supernatural world. Some refer to these places as hell mouths, a beacon or magnet for the supernatural, hot spots or convergence points.

While a lot of people are usually born with magical talents due to someone in their family possessing such abilities, there have been abnormalities of children being born from families without magic.

It is my belief that the energies gathered at those points may have had some influence over such events but it is something that can only be explained as random unless a certain requirement is needed to be influenced by it during their birth or young age."

Blush nodded and asked. "So what about a door or crack of some kind that may expel unknown entities or energies and possibly allow others to pass between two locations? Do those count?"

The eyes of Grimwood lit up and nodded. "Yes! That energy gathered may be what allows those things to take place. Some cracks or doors may appear at times but not many are so willing to go explore them and those that have did not come back.
