44 Genetics, affinities and roots

The inspection spell was observing every little change as it had happened then suddenly it was like a flip had been switched within the body which caused it to react fiercely to the energy contained within the body.

The eyes of Blush lit up once she sensed that changed. "So there it is.. the affinity that you have. How very interesting."

The demon knight had lost his pointed ears and red skin as he slowly transformed into a regular human. "Hah.. wha. Ah. Aaah. Aargh!"

The regular human skin which had been rosy and heated from the transformation process had suddenly become very pale as the body experienced a fierce resistance from something and was becoming very ill.

It was a sight which Blush had watched before from her memories as a baby and from when the witch absorbed the evil energy into her own magic power. "It hurts doesn't it? How does it feel to be human? How does it feel to no longer be able to be compatible with that energy? Now it has become poison to you."

After becoming human, the demon knight had lost the affinity to the evil energy which still remained in the body.

It helped Blush to identify the area which allowed them to have that affinity with it and let them live within the demon realm so it was a groundbreaking discovery.

Unfortunately for the demon knight, the evil energy that was inside of him was causing his body to break down and his emotional state had become affected as he had lost his reason. "Argh. Kill you. Kill! I will kill you! Die!"

He had been consumed by the energy which had corrupted and begun to destroy his body and mind.

Blush observed as he was gradually weakening and being consumed by that energy so she collected a lot of important knowledge. 'With this… I am one step closer to understanding the roots of the bodies and genetics which are connected to magic and evil energy.'

The body had slowly deteriorated until it could no longer function. 'Without having a root or centre for energy and that way to try to control it, the subject will have the energy run rampant in their body which could be very harmful to them.'

Blush turned to the other demon which was the assistant then wasted no time on them as they had been woken up and fed the contents of the vial. 'Then what about a higher amount of evil energy? What if they had my body type but were flooded with evil energy while not being compatible with it?'

The assistant did not have time to spare on Blush because he was in some pain as his body was undergoing changes. 'Usually I would use a compatible subject with a similar gender so there will be no changes in the result but that can be handled easily by blocking off that change. Actually never mind.. this is also something I want to see if it is possible too.'

The appearance, race, gender and all kinds of physical or magical talents or innate abilities would be changed completely once their bodies had been introduced to the serums and genetic transformations so there there was the possibility of changing things like affinities, gender, diet and other aspects but Blush had only used most of the genetics of males on other male subjects.

His red skin had become pink while his hair colour changed to green while his body shape started to slowly change shape into the shape of a slightly more adult version of Blush.

While his genetics would have been changed in many ways, his lifespan had been used up and he was much older than Blush so his appearance become more mature once he had changed.

While the genetics and overall appearance could be altered, the injuries or ageing that their body had undergone or gained since their birth would not disappear after they had changed.

It was similar to how twins could look identical but they both experienced different life experiences which lead to their differing lifespans, personalities, dressing style and the markings or scars they had gained.

Not every single aspect of a person would be so easy to replicate so the original would have differences to the fake transformed version.

The changes happened suddenly as the same area had been altered as before which transformed the root or centre of the evil energy into the root of magic power instead.

A feminine voice came from the voice of the demon which sounded like a slightly more mature version of Blush's own voice. "Ah. Wa.. argh. Aaah. Hah.."

The bindings had adjusted around the body to secure the two demons in place that struggled.

Although the magic power root contained the evil energy within and had no magic power despite its affinity, all the body wanted to do was expel it or use it up so his.. or her emotions became very violent while being surrounded by a blackish and grey evil aura.

Unlike the witch who had two separate energies within her body which were incompatible and her own body which had been forced to absorb the evil energy but could not accept or refine it into her core so it had lingered in her body, the present situation was very different but a little similar in some ways.

The body and root was not compatible so it rejected the energy by instinct but it had nothing to expel it so the natural reaction was to find ways to use or expel it even if it meant destroying that root which would cut off the path to being able to use magic again.

If he had been given a root or core of an evil witch who had been granted control over and had changed their magic power to evil energy through the means of a contract then he may have been able to accept the evil energy within himself without it being rejected.

Unfortunately for him, he had gained the root or core of magic which belonged to Blush which only had affinity to magic power.

As Blush observed the test subject, the evil energy was expelled from the body but as it was doing so, the core area was sustaining damage as cracks began to show.

Unfortunately the core had completely shattered before the larger amount of evil energy could be expelled from the body and the remaining evil energy that had been inside had spread to the rest of the body. "Haaa.raaa..argh..no..hah.."

He was already pale and sweating in the slightly older appearance of Blush then the evil energy that was still a higher amount started to further corrupt and destroy his body from the inside.

During his berserk and dying state, the whites of his eyes were covered with black and some evil energy was surrounding his body.

A strange presence was detected from him suddenly as he let out a scream. "Aaaah!"

A psychic, mental or telekinetic force erupted around him in all directions which came from the mental talents which Blush possessed.

A lot of the energy had dispersed from his body during the outburst but he was left in a weak state and there still remained a lot of evil energy within his body while his surroundings had been affected by the outburst which had freed him.

He lay on the ground unconscious as his body was continuing to deteriorate until both demons had died.

Blush had stood within her barrier which had blocked any flying debris that had been knocked in her direction as she continued to observe the changes until both of their deaths. "The final act was dramatic. Good show. Good attempt. Truly!"

Seeing the final outburst, Blush had gathered more than enough understanding in many areas whether it was about herself, her mental ability, the demons, humans, magic affinity, evil energy affinity and having no affinity with either.

The dead bodies floated up into the air then flew towards the flames which surrounded and burned them to nothingness.

Blush yawned a little before resting and regaining energy then she walked towards the flames slowly as a path opened up for her.

The flames had moved as she walked towards the very centre then sat down covered in a layer of her magic power then controlled the flames to come closer to her body.

The flames were much hotter and stronger than what she had been used to within the confines of her home so she could feel the strong resistance and tempering effects that her magic power was experiencing.

Each time that she was put under pressure, Blush could feel the limitations of her mental and magic power being pushed beyond those previous limitations into a new realm of power.

Each moment that the flames had remained in the area and were drawn towards her, Blush could feel the growth and refinement with her own magic power which had helped her decide upon her path. 'The witch coven agreement to go on a journey was a great idea. I need to find some danger spots to travel to so that we can all resist the elements together. Now.. where are some good places? A volcano? Near the demon gate or within? The thunder mountain? An arctic and freezing cold mountain? Somewhere with strong winds? What about the mountain that is later owned by the Ox King? Will it be covered in magical flames because of the magical cauldron being damaged or will it not happen until much later?'

A burning look of excitement was shown on her face as she had though about the possibilities.

Once the flames had finally extinguished, Blush walked over the ash left behind and rested up a little before her body transformed then flew into the sky.
