43 Demon Knight
Another vial contained some drops of blood which had contained her own genetic structure which had been made too so once she had walked towards the demons, the first had entered the body of the knight which had the least evil energy contained within him.
He had mainly been empowering his body through harsh training and combat so he rarely absorbed evil energy as much as his assistant who was more skilled in magic.
The knight demon opened his eyes and grit his teeth together as he struggled to free himself but his body was still very weak. "Who are you? I do not know you."
He was confused about there being another demon within the human world which he did not know about.
There had been certain demons that had slipped through open gates and were curious about the outside world.
Once they had stepped into the world, it was not long before they caused problems and corrupted the humans around them to do bad things while they sat back and enjoyed the show.
Unlike the angels who were more indifferent and were only the overseers of the universes, the demons followed their desires and curiosity more so they wanted to enter other planes and have some influence over them.
The angels let things play out while they watched from far away until the time came for a god of destruction to inspect each planets development.
Demons on the other hand wished to create chaos and do evil as they had within their own realm so once their eyes had turned to outside of their own realm, they began to influence or conquer as they desired which created chaos and corruption.
Those that could not reach those realms were happy to receive contact from human races which had been able to reach them through supernatural or magical means so the demons granted those people some evil energy in the form of a contract so that they could influence the outside world they could not reach.
Those with the means to do so would use others to help break the barrier between the two worlds so they could descend onto the mortal plane.
Since the demons had a longer lifespan than the mortals, they usually grew bored with the same things repeating within their own realm so it was their way to seek more excitement.
The knight and assistant were one of many who had come through the gate between the two planes.
Each had their own goals or were following orders from someone in a higher place but while some had only made some trips back and forth between the planes, there were some that chose to hide among the humans after hiding their appearance so they could have some fun.
Some chose to do things on a whim while those in power had sent out orders with a clear purpose.
They had been sent to cause division among the humans in the city and to remove the presence of the witches who would be some form of threat to the lower ranked demons and could potentially interfere with their plans.
Among them were targets which were designated to be removed at all costs because one witch had escaped their grasp and had chosen to ignore them after she had been granted the use of evil energy by them.
They had many important objectives to fulfil within the mortal plane and there was a certain human which had caught their interest so a lot of events were surrounding that person while some others were carrying out their own goals.
Blush had already read the minds of them both while they were asleep while she had read one of their minds already so she had been aware of the plans.
The two of them were small pawns who were caught up in a much bigger game which would be used to secure a foothold for events to unfold.
A certain lord and the doctor staying within his manor was within the very centre of their goals and interests which did not surprise her but they were far more interested in seeing how Dr Gero developed his research rather than the city lord's goals to expand his influence.
The only reason why they were aiding him in the dark was to help gain more resources and experimental subjects for Dr Gero from the chaos created and the wars which would happen.
Dr Gero's own research had already aided them in creating some deadly weapons to help aid the war and helped to fuel the progress of the current events which lead to the witch hunt.
Blush smirked a little. "You are correct. Although you probably do not know about him all that well, there does exist other demons who are moving around to carry out their own plans.
There is a low ranking demon noble who has been wandering around and trying to create hybrids between humans and demons which have high potential and have affinity with the evil energy within the demon realm. Whether this is known or a well known fact to those higher up.. it does not matter since someone like you cannot possibly find out that."
The knight showed confusion on his face as she had expected because she already knew that he knew nothing about such events after looking over his memories. "Then do you work for him? Why are you interfering with the goals of a higher ranking demon noble?"
It was absurd in his opinion that a lower ranked demon would go to the trouble of provoking a higher ranked demon.
The magic power gathered and was shaped into a small sphere which was very pure. "As you can see, I am just one of the 'failures' of his but I guess he did succeed in some way. My talents in magic are actually quite good.. it is a shame that he had caused my body to be damaged for so long after he had exposed it to the evil energy of the demon realm. Oh.. that is right! My apologies, I am just an abandoned 'failure' so this really has no connection to him."
The demon knight showed a fierce look. "Then why are you interfering? Do not say some crap about helping out the humans! They would not thank a mere half breed like you."
Blush frowned a little which showed her displeasure towards the words 'mere half breed' so she responded in a colder voice. "Sure.. you guys would not understand my plight. Even if you are demons which are considered as half of myself, we are much too different.
It is not like I am helping out or interfering for the other half of myself that is human either. Instead it is merely out of my own self interests and curiosity. Hmm.. maybe we do have a little in common after all?"
She would not usually admit that she had a lot in common with the demons even though she was a half blood of them but she realised that in some small ways, her alignments and ways of acting were usually driven by her own self interests.
While she had been trying to preserve the timeline a little for her own interests and to see history progress as it should, there were always things which came up in between which had presented opportunities for herself.
Whether it was to simply sit back and watch as history played out or to interfere in small places depended on her own whims and what she could gain from it.
Although she was not of the chaotic evil alignment, Blush never considered herself on the side of order or good either so she believed that she was much closed to being within the chaotic neutral alignment.
It was not like she was acting as a hero to save the humans or the world but that an opportunity had fallen into her lap to further her own goals.
The knight and assistant along with the many people who participated in the witch hunt would have either died or would have been wounded upon fighting the witches.
The current witch had a means to counter demons while the others had sufficient means to harm the others so it would be difficult for two low ranking demons to succeed in such a task and come out of it unscathed.
Even if they did not lived on, they could easily be replaced by other demons who could carry out the tasks they had been given so it did not disrupt things too much even if they were killed by her.
The vial poured down the throat of the demon knight who struggled to free himself then his body started to shake and transform. "Gu..argh.. wha. What have you."
Blush spread out her arms and declared. "You are my test subject. I have been wondering.. demon. What would an ordinary human feel like once they had been exposed to that evil energy of yours? Oh so you already know. Ding ding ding! We have a correct answer!"
