1 Chapter 1 - Pandora

Sofia city, the capital of the Selaphiel empire, is located on the continent of Noax, the biggest continent on the planet Pandora. Sofia city is named after the goddess of wisdom Sofia and is the biggest city humans ever created . The empire was founded after the defeat of the demon king who caused terror and chaos across Pandora. Before the empire, Demons rein over the world causing chaos in the name of the demon king, killing and enslaving all life across Pandora, and the gods who can no longer stand the suffering of mortals finally stepped in and summoned the hero and his companions from the other world. The hero and his friends fought against the demon king, although countless lives are lost along the way including his friends, the hero defeated the demon king and brought freedom and prosperity across Pandora.

This is what the history books say but those who look further, and dig deeper would find out that the hero vanished after the defeat of the demon king. Some say he died from the wounds he suffered from the battle with the demon king, some say he went back to his own world and some say he just lived peacefully among humans hiding his true identity but no one could confirm those theories and over time people forget about the disappeared hero.

That was three thousand years ago and the empire stood strong against all threads and forces for 2500 years as a beacon of strength for the human race until the oldest and greatest enemy of mankind, the demons return 500 years ago. It all started in a small kingdom next to the empire and the kingdom fell overnight to the demons. The surrounding kingdoms helped but they fell too and none of them lasted a day. The empire reacted quickly, at least they tried to. 2 days were wasted discussing what to do while a total of 4 kingdoms fell during that time. When the empire sends out its armies, it was too late. More demons were here and they already set up their defenses. And so, the second great demon war begins. For 400 years the empire fought back demons. Although it may seem like the empire was holding back the demons, it was burning out its resources and weakening it. The demons were winning little by little. And then they stopped. The demons stopped attacking 100 years ago. No one knew why. But everyone knew this is just the calm before the storm. After 400 years of war, the empire weakened and tried to summon the heroes from the other world again.

Humans are arrogant creatures. Although all races allied to fight against demons 3000 years ago, it was quickly dissolved and the inner fight between the races continued after the defeat of demons. Even though the demons have returned, the inner fighting between the races continued. Instead of combining forces with other races to fight off the demons, the empire chose to rely on the otherworldly strength of the heroes. And thus, the new age of heroes began in the world of Pandora.
