Chapter 69 Tree Avatar

"Good, then I don't think you will need to keep holding onto it," he said, reminding her that she was still gripping his shirt.

"Uhh…"

Soon, she realized she was still holding onto the hem of Hun Tian's shirt.

(⊙_⊙;)

She slowly released her grip and let go of Hun Tian's shirt, her fingers lingering in the fabric for a moment longer than necessary.

"Alright... Where are we going?" she asked, her hands folded underneath her chest, covering her emotions. The subtle blush on her cheeks betrayed a mixture of embarrassment and curiosity.

Hun Yu thought for a moment about where they should go.

He considered the best option was to follow the sun. "In this direction," he said, pointing toward the sun. His eyes met hers briefly, and a hint of a smile softened his stern expression.

"Ok," she nodded, and they started walking in the direction of the sun, the golden hues casting long shadows on the uneven path ahead.

After about 3-4 hours of walking:

"Wait!" Bo Zhi called out as she collapsed on the ground, her back hitting the dirt with a soft thud.

Hun Yu turned around, looking confused. "What… why are you sitting on the ground?" His brows furrowed with concern.

As Hun Yu asked this, Bo Zhi became angry instantly.

She glared at him and said in frustration, "You! Can't you see I'm exhausted from walking all these hours? And I'm carrying all this weight on top of that!" She gestured towards the big bag she had been carrying.

Hun Yu was about to reply, but then he remembered that Bo Zhi doesn't seem to have any soul power, so getting exhausted is normal for her as she is just a normal woman.

Realizing his mistake, he bent down a little.

"Here, take my hand and stand up. This place doesn't seem right for resting," he offered her a hand, his tone now gentler.

Bo Zhi, who was sitting on the ground with no strength in her legs, took his hand and stood up. But as she tried to walk, there was no strength in her legs, and she directly collapsed on top of Hun Yu, making him fall to the ground as well.

Bo Zhi closed her eyes, expecting pain, but instead, she felt softness.

As she opened her eyes, they widened. Hun Tian was under her, and she was on top of him in an embarrassing position. The soft feeling she felt was Hun Yu's lips on her forehead.

If her height were a little higher, wouldn't it be a kiss?!!!

She tried to stand up, but there was no strength in her legs. On the other side, Hun Yu's expression changed.

??

"Can you move from on top of me?" he said in a cold voice, entirely different from before.

As the cold words entered her ears, question marks appeared on her face. Shouldn't he be happy when a woman is laying on top of him? Why does his voice seem so cold?

She tried to stand up but was unable to. Finally, she could do nothing and said in an embarrassing tone, "I can't... there is no strength left in my legs."

Hun Yu sighed.

He grabbed her shoulder and rolled her to the other side as he stood up, wiping the dirt from his clothes. On the ground, Bo Zhi was in shock.

Did he just throw her away?

Both anger and embarrassment were reaching their peak as she was about to explode. She somehow managed to sit down using a tree as support. "You!"

She wanted to scold Hun Tian for the whole day, but not a word left her mouth. She remembered those cold words. Bo Zhi's mind was blank. Did she not smell good? Or was she ugly?

Why does this kid not...?

"Sorry," Hun Yu apologized because, before he lost his temper, Bo Zhi heard the apology, but she could see there was no honesty in that.

"Then we will rest here until your legs have some strength to walk," Hun Yu's voice softens a bit.

However, Bo Zhi, still angry, refuses to say anything. She closes her eyes, contemplating her feelings.

Who does this kid think he is?

She vows to teach him a good lesson when her soul power returns. While externally she appears calm with silver hair and closed eyes, internally, she has already devised a myriad of ways to punish Hun Tian.

...

Under a colossal tree, its ancient branches stretching like the arms of nature itself, a woman sits quietly, observing a man practicing with a wooden sword.

As she stood up and moved towards a bucket, placed under the tree, she sighed and took out an apple.

Taking a bite, she picked another and approached the practicing man, Hun Yu, arriving behind him.

Sensing her presence, he turned around. She offered him an apple, suggesting, "You should rest; you've been practicing for 3-4 hours."

"Alright," he conceded as they sat side by side.

Bo Zhi, the woman, began pointing out mistakes in Hun Yu's sword style, providing constructive criticism.

In a playful tone, Hun Yu teased, "Are you sure you're not some old lady in the disguise of a young lady?"

Outraged, Bo Zhi exclaimed, "YOUUUU!! Are YOU CALLING ME OLD!!!" Despite being well over a century old, she preferred the facade of youth.

"Hump," she muttered, standing up and walking towards the giant tree.

She pretended to leave, a familiar angry gesture Hun Yu had witnessed before. Knowing she would return on her own, he observed her departure.

Walking closer to the humongous tree, easily 3000 meters tall

The height of this tree was unnaturally colossal; he had never heard of any tree reaching such grand proportions.

His immediate conclusion was that the location they were in must not be a part of Douluo Continent.

Amidst the towering shadows atop the tree, two eyes gleamed in the darkness, fixated on Bo Zhi.

As the red light flickered, a shadow gracefully descended from the treetop. Hun Yu, sensing the movement, redirected his attention towards the approaching figure.

He anticipated the person or creature spying on them to make a move.

According to his prediction, the target should be the strongest among them – himself.

However, contrary to expectations, the intruder aimed not for him but for Bo Zhi.

"Shi...!"

Hun Yu swiftly moved towards Bo Zhi, who, consumed by anger, was advancing toward the colossal tree.

She glanced back at Hun Tian pursuing her, wearing a triumphant smile as she quickened her pace. However, her attention was diverted as she noticed a looming shadow overhead.

Perplexed, she raised her head and widened her eyes. The shadow revealed a peculiar-looking creature wielding a wooden staff, poised to strike her.

In a panic, her eyes shut, and she instinctively shielded herself with her hands.

Hun Yu utilized his full speed, swiftly scooping up Bo Zhi in a princess carry.

Simultaneously, he retreated, narrowly avoiding the strike of the creature's staff at the spot where Bo Zhi had stood just moments before.

The impact would have been devastating if he hadn't intervened.

As the dust settled, Bo Zhi slowly opened her eyes to find herself in the protective arms of Hun Yu, who still held her in the princess carry position.

A rare blush graced her cheeks as she felt the warmth in her heart. However, the gravity of the situation quickly sobered her.

Remembering the danger they were facing, she tilted her head and directed her attention to the creature that had attacked her. In a weak voice, she inquired, "Um... What is that thing? Is it a spirit beast?"

Descending from Hun Yu's arms, she couldn't fathom the potential outcome if the staff had struck her. She could have perished without even feeling pain.

"It doesn't seem to be a spirit beast," Hun Yu replied, releasing his Martial Spirit and revealing his spirit rings.

Bo Zhi marveled at the beautiful bow-shaped Martial Spirit, and her curiosity intensified as she examined Hun Tian's spirit rings for the first time.

However, her attention was abruptly captured by the unexpected combination of spirit rings.

Mouth agape, she observed the rings: Yellow, purple, purple, black, black, and a peculiar blend of golden and black. This unusual sixth spirit ring puzzled her.

"What..." she began to question, but Hun Yu gestured for her to stay behind him, saying, "Stay back; let me handle this."

Feeling weakened all over her body, Bo Zhi nodded, realizing that she couldn't even use her Martial Spirit for some inexplicable reason.
