Chapter 13, First Contact

Next day.

Vaiss was sitting on his bed, looking at the note in his hand.

'Cub, I'm not malicious.

I borrow a bit of your rice and wheat, I'll give you something double the worth later.

Di Tian.'

Di Tian left this just to say that he was not hostile, he didn't care whether Vaiss believed it or not. After all, what could a mere note prove? 

He would convince Vaiss after he got back, he already determined that Vaiss was a kind and trustworthy boy. But he never thought that Vaiss would know him.

Now questions lingered in his mind. How did Di Tian know him? Since when and why did Di Tian follow him? 

Vaiss could only guess that Di Tian knew him from the moment he traveled to this world, Di Tian saw Father of Ultra and by extension, noticed him.

As for the other question, he didn't have the answer or guess. But he knew Di Tian was not hostile as he said in the memo. 

Di Tian hated humans and he was straightforward, since he said he wasn't hostile, then it must be true. But Vaiss needed to keep his act as a child. 

So, what would a child do when he found that a stranger was following him and his bodyguard didn't even notice it? He ran to his parents.

Vaiss ran down the stairs, he looked at the RV that had yet to leave. He scanned the place and found Ghost in his room.

"Grandpa, can you hear me?"

"Wha?! Young master?!"

Ghost was surprised when Vaiss's voice suddenly rang in his head, Vaiss wanted to try his telepathy and he did.

"Grandpa, start the RV and wait for me, I'll go back to the Spirit Hall with you and I'll answer your question on the way.

Oh, and you can just think what you want to say."

"O-oh, okay."

Ghost took a second before he returned to normal, he was getting used to Vaiss' never-ending means, it wouldn't be long before he grew numb and just accepted anything Vaiss came up with.

"You two, something came up. I'll go back to the Spirit Hall with grandpa first, you two will stay and monitor and record the data of the villagers."

"Yes, Young master." x2 

After informing the two personnel, Vaiss went straight to Han Xu's house.

"Grandpa, I'm going back. These are enough seeds for three acres, please plant them and you can keep 1000kg of each rice and wheat of every harvest. You can sell this new batch but the first batch cannot be sold.

The Spirit Hall will send someone to take the rest of the harvest and give you the fee for your work. And these seeds and every seed from now on, their cultivation accelerating effect has been weakened."

Han Xu was disappointed when he heard the effect had been weakened, the feeling of increasing cultivation just by eating was too wonderful, but he knew such good things would be monopolized, so he returned to normal quickly. Besides, there was still much rice and wheat left, enough for the village to consume for a long time.

But then he heard that the village could get 1000kg of the two crops every harvest, and he was surprised by such generosity.

Han Xu kneeled to Vaiss. He didn't know what else their village could do to repay Vaiss, he essentially reborn the whole village, Vaiss turned them into spirit masters and hunger was no longer a problem for them.

Vaiss quickly helped Han Xu get up.

"Don't do this again or I'll get angry."

"Understood, Young master."

Han Xu smiled as he watched Vaiss go away, he decided to build a statue of Vaiss and carved his deeds on the statue, so that the village would not forget.

Vaiss went back to the house and stored the rice and wheat in his space ring, he counted it and realized that Di Tian took 1000kg of each rice and wheat.

Vaiss then remembered that Di Tian and the other fierce beasts' real bodies were all giant, 1000kg of rice and wheat was really a bit for them.

Vaiss waved to the two personnel and went inside the RV. On the way, he told Ghost about Di Tian, but he only told him that Di Tian was probably a titled douluo that had been observing them for a while now.

Ghost's face was solemn, he was a master of sneaking and assassination, he felt very uncomfortable thinking they had been observed for a while without him noticing anything. 

"Young master, I've failed you."

The two enjoyed the moment for a long time and just hugged each other, only when Ghost came, did they return to normal. 

Bibi Dong heard the report from Ghost and read the data compiled by Vaiss and two personnel, she was elated then became serious.

"Someone, come here."

"Yes, your majesty."

A guard came in.

"Vaiss, give him a bag of rice."

"Okay, mom."

"Split it into two and cook it, deliver half here with dishes. Deliver the other half to Hu Liena, Yan, Xie Yue."

"Yes, Your Majesty Pope."

The guard took the brown bag containing rice and went out to the kitchen, he was confused but he didn't ask, the Pope must have some kind of meaning or the rice must be special, he thought.

"Vaiss, how's your search on the restriction for the one using the Martial Artifact plan?"

"I already found a clue, it won't be long."

"Good, as expected of my son."

Bibi Dong caressed Vaiss's head with a proud smile, she could already imagine the uproar when the new rice and wheat came out and the Martial Artifact plan was revealed.

She looked at Vaiss, maybe it was time to confer him the title of holy son, Bibi Dong thought. But then she heard about Di Tian, her spirit power ran amok and pressed Ghost and avoided Vaiss, her face was cold.

"Ghost, you let me down."

"Mom, it was not grandpa's fault. I suspect this Di Tian to be a super titled douluo and he may already observe me for a year or longer."

"Mobilize the Spirit Hall intelligence staff and inform all the branches, search for Di Tian and report it to me."

Ghost went out but Vaiss knew this search would not yield results since Di Tian was not human. Unless they searched the core of the Great Star Dou forest, they wouldn't find anything.

"Vaiss, you are to follow me closely until we find this stranger, you are not allowed to run around."

"Okay, mom."

Bibi Dong maximized her spirit, such an unstable factor couldn't be let near Vaiss. While Vaiss was leaning on the soft cushion behind him, his body and mind relaxed.

Bibi Dong felt it was not enough, so she endured her disgust and write a letter, she called the guard and told him to sent it to the Douluo Palace.

Meanwhile, the stranger, Di Tian was flying to the core area of the Great Star Dou forest, when he arrived, Gu Yuena already noticed him.

The other fierce beasts were staring at the bags Di Tian held, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion wanted to rush and ate the rice and wheat in the bag but was hugged by Bi Ji. 

"Di Tian, report."

"Yes, lord."

Di Tian said all he knew about Vaiss and what change he brought, Gu Yuena was surprised and then became solemn as she heard Di Tian's report, especially when she heard about Vaiss's first soul skill.

She even thought that Father of Ultra knew the dragon god and sent Vaiss to save the soul beast clan. Gu Yuena shook her head, albeit fragmented, she inherited some of the dragon god's memories, and she knew he didn't know Father of Ultra.

When She heard about the new rice and wheat, two bags of rice and wheat disappeared from Di Tian's side and reappeared in front of her. She carefully checked it and found the energy contained in it. 

It had a minuscule effect on her or other fierce beasts but the effect on soul beasts below 50,000 years was great. Gu Yuena made sure there was no danger and she swallowed it. She was in her giant dragon form, these two bags were like prawns to a whale.

She felt the energy contained in the rice and wheat quickly absorbed and felt a tiny recovery in her wound. She was elated, this was a  wound given by the Shura god, every recovery was worth it, no matter how tiny.

She took the rest of the rice and wheat and swallowed it. She also thought that Di Tian seemed to say that Vaiss had great healing ability and could purify foreign energy.

Now she was a little convinced that Vaiss may be sent here by Father of Ultra to save the soul beast clan.

"Di Tian, contact that child and ask him if he could come here and heal me. I will reward him handsomely. But don't be rough with him or force him, if he doesn't want to come, we will try again later."

"Di Tian understands."

"Go."

Di Tian quickly went away, the other fierce beasts could only see the bags taken by Gu Yuena, they didn't dare to complain. The Three-Eyed Golden Lion slumped in Bi Ji's arms, she was sad because the tasty food was taken away, Bi Ji rubbed her Fur and comforted the little guy.

Spirit Hall, Pope's Residence, night.

Vaiss was sleeping in Bibi Dong's arms, his head against the white mountain. Suddenly he woke up and sat up.

"Vaiss, what's wrong?"

Bibi Dong also woke up and looked at Vaiss, but Vaiss didn't answer her, he was looking in the direction of Spirit City gate. Because of Di Tian, Vaiss kept his mental scan active all the time, now his mental scan covered the Spirit City and he felt a strong breath appear in the gate but just stood there. He didn't hide and stood there showing his breath as if calling someone.

The guard on the gate was already immobilized but no one was harmed.

The breath was not human but a soul beast, Vaiss was sure this was Di Tian, he never thought he would come so fast.

Bibi Dong noticed Vaiss's state and she felt the foreign aura, her face became cold, she quickly changed her clothes, she wanted to see who dared to be so arrogant in the Spirit City.

As for why Vaiss could tell he was there faster than her, she didn't ask, compared to other things Vaiss had done, having stronger mental power than titled douluo was nothing strange to her.

"Mom, I'm coming!"

Vaiss changed his clothes quickly and held Bibi Dong's arm.

"No, it's too dangerous!"

"Mom, don't worry. I'm sensitive to hostile intentions, the one outside doesn't have any."

"...Alright, but you will stay by my side all the time."

"Okay, mom!"

The two flew outside and saw Qian Daoliu waiting for them, Bibi Dong nodded at him and they flew toward Di Tian.
