21 Investigation

A few days ago.

Ye Tian realized that he needed to conceal his spirit beast aura, as it could be sensed by any Titled Douluo or even Spirit Master with sharp senses like Tang Feng, and it will be dangerous if he run into them again in the future.

He remembered something from his previous life's memory that some plant-type spirit beasts, like certain immortal herbs, have the ability to conceal their spirit beast aura.

Within the ravine, Ye Tian and Shu Min sat on a boulder, deep in conversation. Ye Tian looked at Shu Min with concern etched on his face. "Shu Min, can you sprout some leaves for me? I want to test if we could conceal our spirit beast aura as well" he asked."

Shu Min was initially confused by Ye Tian's suggestion, but he soon understood what Ye Tian meant. He sprouted a leaf from his hand and gave it to Ye Tian. "I'm not sure if it will work, but I can give it a try."

They soon called for Tang Feng, and with the help of Tang Feng, who was able to faintly sense the spirit beast aura, they tested the leaf and found that it could actually cover the spirit beast presence within Ye Tian.

"Impressive," Tang Feng said. "I couldn't sense your spirit beast presence at all."

`As expected from a mutated 90.000-year-old Golden Demon Tree, his aura is potent enough to cover up my spirit beast aura` thought Ye Tian inwardly.

Ye Tian then asked Shu Min to sprout another leaf for Xiao Qin so that they could not easily be discovered by Spirit Sages and Titled Douluo.

Shu Min was surprised that Ye Tian could come up with this idea. "You seem to have a lot of knowledge than any other spirit beast I've seen, Ye Tian. How did you come up with this?"

Ye Tian smiled. "Just from some past experiences."

Shu Min nodded, but he still felt that Ye Tian was hiding something. Nevertheless, he did not pursue the matter any further because he knew Ye Tian was the person that Xiao Qin had placed her trust in for the greatness of Spirit Beast.

Present day, Tang Clan residence.

A group of people entered the room. They were dressed in the robes of the Spirit Hall. "We're from Spirit Hall investigation team, I'm the leader of the team, Ji Meng."

Tang Cao's expression grew infuriated as they entered without his permission and did as they pleased. But then, he still decided to hold his anger.

"And what brings Spirit Hall to our humble abode?" he asked, his voice edged with anger.

Ji Meng's expression remained neutral as he replied, "We have come to investigate the recent incident that occurred within the continent. Two of our Titled Douluo were ambushed and severely injured."

Tang Cao's eyes squinted slightly at the explanation. "I see," he said slowly. "And what does that have to do with our clan?"

Ji Meng paused for a moment and looked around the people in the room, then continued, "He mentioned that he saw someone with a martial spirit of a Hammer among them, and We have reason to believe that the perpetrator may have connections to the Tang Clan."

*BOOM*

Tang Cao's fists clenched at his side, his anger flaring up again as his Titled Douluo aura exploded in an extremely fierce manner, completely suppressing Ji Meng's aura. "You dare to accuse us without evidence?!" he growled.

Rank 95 Titled Douluo!! Hammer Douluo!!

Ji Meng and all of his group members turned pale from Tang Cao's ferocious aura. Even Ye Tian and the others felt suffocated by the current atmoshphere.

Ji Meng held up a hand to placate the patriarch. "I assure you, we are not here to declare war on the Tang Clan. We simply seek cooperation in our investigation to have a talk."

*BOOM*

Tang Cao's face became even more infuriated as he pulls out his Clear Sky Hammer. "Do you think our Tang Clan is that easy to bully? Let's talk then, WITH OUR FIST!"

"W-We're would not dare, Lord Hammer" said Ji Meng while stuttering as his attitude changed drastically.

"Father!" shouted Tang Feng, stopping Tang Cao from making a move that would harm both sides later.

*Sigh*

Tang Cao's anger slowly began to cool, as he retracted his aura. "Fine… "

Ji Meng and his team gave their gratitude towards Tang Feng.

Tang Cao nodded with satisfaction and turned to Tang Feng. "You mentioned being chased by Dark Spirit Masters in the Great Star Dou Forest. Do you believe this is connected to the incident?"

The statement piqued Ji Meng's interest as he began to fully focus on listening to the conversation.

Tang Feng nodded. "It's possible. We didn't get a good look at our pursuers, but they were definitely prepared enough to even send a Titled Douluo to chase us."

Ji Meng's eyes narrowed as he said:

"A Titled Douluo? Who?"

Soon, Tang Feng also began reciting them about the part of his story when they were being chased by the Dark Spirit Master.

While reciting, Tang Cao signaled Tang Feng not to bring up the Spirit Bone that they took from the Shadow Bell Douluo as it would bring unwanted trouble.

As Ji Meng listened carefully, he looked at Xu Yue and Shu Min with a look of disbelief. "Shadow Bell Douluo?"

Tang Cao on the other hand eyes narrowed as he considered the possibility. "And who do you think may have orchestrated this?"

Tang Feng hesitated for a moment before replying, "There is one person who comes to mind." He paused for a moment and continued. "Tang Fei!"

"Tang Fei?" Tang Cao repeated, surprised. " It seems likely, as he's also been missing for over a month. But why would he have anything to do with this?"

Tang Feng shrugged. "I'm not sure. But I heard rumors that he was involved in some shady dealings in the past. It's possible that he's continued down that path."

Tang Cao's expression darkened. "If Tang Fei is involved in this, he will be held accountable. But we need to gather more information before making any accusations."

Ji Meng cleared his throat. "Alright, We'll start our own investigation, please contact us if there are any updates. We will be staying in the nearby city for the next few days." He paused for a moment with a guilty face, and continued. "Also… we apologize for our rude behavior earlier."

With that, Ji Meng and his team departed, leaving the Tang Clan to ponder their next steps.
