99 A Little Explanation.

So this chapter is a bit about explanation on some little details. I've also became a little rusty, gotta back it up somehow.

Anyways, I'll try to post next chapter before Saturday.

One week passed very quickly. The continental Advanced Spirit Master Elite Tournament qualifiers also smoothly completed six rounds of matches. In that time, three academies got six successive victories and Shrek Academy was one of them. Beside the little trouble with the Elephant Armored Academy, the next four opponent were nothing to mention about. Of the Shrek Seven Devils only Tang San, Dai Mubai, Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing appeared, the last one only appearing in the match with Elephant Armored Academy. The opponents also didn't reveal any Spirit Master over fortieth ranks, causing the atmosphere to be a little tensed except fatty.

"Sister Jiang Zhu, how about I take your place? Even if I'm a secret weapon, if you're tired, I can still help you out. If you get exhausted, it's no good."

Ma Hongjun stretched out his head as he looked at Jiang Zhu with the best innocent look he can give.

Jiang Zhu pinched the cheeks of Ma Hongjun who was a little shorter than her.

"Little fatty, leave this match to me. Later big sister will buy you something tasty. It's not that tiring and for the sake of becoming a champion, this is nothing. Moreover, this is also a chance to gain real combat experience."

Ma Hongjun face had a naive look, nodding repeatedly in agreement.

Xiao Wu and Rongrong looked at each other, both having a difficulty holding their laugh. Since everyone started trainig and competing together, Fatty Had always hovered around Jiang Zhu, showing an obedient darling appearance.

"Fatty, don't be noisy. Even though our opponents this fight aren't that strong, we still can't be careless. If by chance we encounter a team with hidden strength, it's very possible we'll be in a bit of trouble. A lion still need to use all his strength to catch a rabbit."

Dai Mubai said as a responsible team leader, reminding everyone to mot underestimate their opponents.

"Mubai is right, but however you don't have to worry this time. Your opponent forfeited."

At this time Tang Ming and Grandmaster walked in from outside.

"Forfeited?"

"But why?"

Everyone looked a little surprised as they looked at both Tang Ming and Grandmaster for explanation.

Grandmaster looked at Tang Ming as he smiled.

"The strength you've showed off has made some academies with insufficient strength forfeit, this is quite ordinary. No need to be so astonished. You all can also go and use this chance to watch the match between Thunderclap Academy and Elephant Armored Academy. These two teams are both capable of threatening you. The gazes of both team met in midair, and everyone could see sparks of conflict flying from eamyes of their counterparts.

Dai Mubai even further raised his hand and made a beheading gesture to the leading youth. Ma Hongjun took it a little more further as he secretly pointed his finger to the female member as he then pointed his hand toward his crotch.

Tang Ming looked at the all of them as he smiled with his eyes closed. Out of nowhere a shiver ran through the spine of all members of Blue Sunshine Academy.

Tang Ming had already made plan for them, if they dare to use the same trick as they did in the original and try to kill his friends. Then these fuçktards can say goodbye to their cultivation life.

No, he isn't going to stop them as because of him present this time, the Shrek Academy has little to none problems during there whole journey. They needed to experience some setbacks to become the best of them.

Tai Long clenched his fist, issuing bone creaking sounds.

"I'm really looking forward to pummeling them."

"Me too. But alas, but i can't..."

Ma Hongjun sighed.

"Fuck, what do these fellow have to be so arrogant about. Looking at their disdainful faces, i don't know why my palm becomes a little bit itchy. Captain, let me go up when we battle their team, I'll definitely let them learn what's called humility."

Grandmaster calmly said :

"Alright, you all keep calm. They're not opponents that should concern you right now. Over these past few days, I've made some investigations into all of the competing teams. Among these teams, only five of them are capable of threatening you all. Only these five teams have some hidden strength. Of these five you've already face Elephant Armored Academy. I believe they still hadn't shown their all strength during their battle with you."

"Teacher, what's going on? Why is the audience so much agressive here?"

Tang Ming said with a prideful smile, "Isn't it because of you all. Your opponents forfeited, but there a re a lot of spectators who came specially to see all of you compete. When the match didn't even happen, won't they be dissatisfied?"

In the stands atleast one third of the spectators were dressed in white dress the same as Shrek Academy.

Ever since the Shrek Academy team had caused a sensation, Tang Ming with Flender's help had begin the mass production of Shrek Academy uniform and started selling them on the Immortals Love shops in the market. Moreover, each uniform was embroidered with the name of a team member.

Among them, Tang San's, Dai Mubai's, Tai Long, Jing Ling, Zhu Zhuqing and Xiao Wu's uniform sold the most. In just one week, Immortals Love had earned quite a sum of money.

The first round of matches had already begun. Grandmaster immediately pointed out which of the ten teams were the Godwind and Skywater teams.

Tang Ming hadn't shown on his face but he was really astonished to find that all the members of the Godwind Academy had the ability to fly.

While Tang Ming was secretly being surprised by the Godwind Academy ability to fly, Oscar and Mubai were paying attention to the Skywater Academy teams as all of their members consisted of females and each one was a beauty in and of herself.

Without any suspense, the Godwind and Skywater Academy won their matches.

Observing these matches, Tang San and others asked in a low voice to Grandmaster next to them :

"Teacher, why aren't these five great elemental academies matching up elements and competing up together? They're all single attribute spirit masters. Even though this means that one aspect will become very powerful, in practice, the weak points are also obvious. Doesn't that leave them without the strength to face the opponents who counters them pretty easily?"

Even Tang Ming was interested in this thing as in his previous life, he too thought about this issue. It can be seen that when in the original timeline when Blaze and Godwind Academy joined forces they were quite a force to reckon with. Tang San even had to use his Clear Sky Hammer to squeeze out the victory.

Maybe it's because of the inner conflict between the five elemental academies or because of the Spirit Hall pulling strings behind the scenes.

Grandmaster sighed lightly, saying:

"This is the difference between Heaven Dou Empire and Star Luo Empire. Heaven Dou Empire's advanced Spirit Master academies have always relied mainly on these five great elemental academies to lead them. This time around the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy has its main team which is pretty good. But in the previous several tournaments, the one capable of entering the top three from Heaven Dou Empire's side has always been one of these five elemental academies."

"Just as you said, the style of the team members from these five academies all tend to the extreme of one aspect. Entirely different from the balanced nature the Star Luo Empire strives for. This has both advantages and detriments. When they encounter enemies that can't restrain their strong points, they can often destroy their opponents in a single blow. But if they encounter enemies that can restrain them, they will also frequently lose in a short time."

"But even after all these years, these five great elemental academies has never had the slightest notion of changing their policies. Do you all know why this is?"

Everyone slightly shook his head

Grandmaster spoke in a slow voice :

"Because this is the struggle between the Spirit Master world's two great stream of thoughts. One faction stands for balance, one faction stands for extremism."

"The extreme faction believes that a Spirit Master's capabilities should as far as possible follow a pure route, letting their strength grow in only a single direction, to become as astounding as possible within this one direction."

"But the balanced faction believes a Spirit Master's capabilities should develop harmoniously, balancing attack and defense. These two thoughts of stream have always been at war with each other."

(A/N : To be honest I also didn't know of this before writing this chapter. So, this solves one of the few questions I have regarding that stupid behaviour from Elemental academies. And Welcome, for anyone who also doesn't know about this.)

"The spirit master world of Heaven Dou Empire favours more toward the extreme faction. As you can also see with Clear Sky School's Strength Clan, as it is a typical example of this. And the Clear Sky School four subordinate clans also have another three great extreme limit followers, you will no doubt come into contact with them in future."

"And that's where Star Luo Empire is different from us, their spirit master world largely follow the balanced route. Perhaps they have a bit less burst strength, but they also have a lot fewer weaknesses and their follow up capabilities are also more outstanding."

"Then what about Spirit Hall? What stream of thoughts does it follow?"

Tang San asked.

Grandmaster lowered his voice a little more.

Tang Ming though felt that this thought of Grandmaster is a little naive. How can you expect a team to be always together? He was more supportive toward the balanced stream of thoughts.

Teams were good normally but what happens if someone ambushes and restrain a single individual of the said team individually? Won't the member at that time be sitting ducks, hoping for there teammates to miraculously save them.

Looks like his little brother also supported his thoughts.

"So it's like that. Extreme limit flow and balanced flow each have their own characteristics. Then in other words, for all these years, isn't it the balanced flow that has always held the advantage?"
