66 Chapter 66: The Adventures of Class Zero in the Spirit Ascension Platform

In the control room of the Spirit Ascension Platform. The staff members, Shu Lengwei, Wu Zhangkong and Long Hengxu watched the monitors that displayed the situation of the students.

The staff were working hard on monitoring the situation on the Spirit Ascension Platform and both the real and virtual bodies of the students.

They ran through numerous codes and continuously change the video feeds to help on checking in with students inside the Spirit Ascension Platform. Currently on the big main monitor, displayed the current situation of Zhang Yangzi and his actions.

Wu Zhangkong silently watched the feed with indifference as the fool unleashed his martial soul to fly up top on a tree, scout his surroundings for a moment, before he spotted a bird type soul beast and decided it was a good idea to engaged it.

Less than a minute later, Zhang Yangzi was out of the box, embarrassed and ashamed, he silently stood behind the teachers.

The feeds then switched to another student, Wang Jinxi, who sat silently down on top of a large tree to recover his stamina. The dozens of ten year old Wind Wolf corpses below him showed that he had just recently fought those soul beasts and won, leaving him exhausted from it.

Everything seem normal, and he looked as if recovered enough of his stamina that he had a look that suggests that he was about to scurry off from his current location. Sadly however, that wasn't going to happen.

"Shit!" One of the staff members cursed. He started to frantically pressed buttons on his keyboard. "The kid's luck turned bad, it's a hundred year old Man Faced Demon Spider! He can't escape this, he's petrified in fear. Override his emergency exit button to activate it!"

"B-But sir, protocols said-"

"He is about to be killed by a freaking Man Faced Demon Spider, there is no possible way for an exhausted student such as him to try and run from it. Do it." The staff member that tried to argue nodded and started pressing buttons to override the emergency exit button codes.

But it was too late. Shu Lengwei and Long Hengxu grimaced in disgust as they saw Wang Jinxi died a gruesome death, Zhang Yangzi hold his mouth with his hands from vomiting out, while Wu Zhangkong frowned.

"Get the medic!" Shu Lengwei yelled to the staff members.

And to think, only five minutes has passed since the students had dived into the Spirit Ascension Platform.

After they got Wang Jinxi treated and slowly got the situation under control, they all got their attention back to the video feeds and watched as Xie Xie gets attacked by a hundred year old soul beast that forced him up a tree, Gu Yue gets chased by some thousand year old bear type soul beast, while Tang Wulin was sitting crosslegged on the middle of a grass field.

All of their situations gave everyone some reaction of amazement and speechlessness, but the video feed on Xiu Ye's current situation made everyone questioned the staff members if that the monitoring system had made an error or something. The staff members rechecked the monitors once more and said that everything was working correctly.

It made everyone silent.

On the monitoring screen that showed where Xiu Ye's current location is, was a land of fire and ash, and the blossom light of a four petal iridescent flower that can defend against even the most powerful punishment of the heavens.

.....

Xiu Ye frowned as he turns around, the Crimson Yang Sword appearing in his left hand, and without any hesitation unsheathes the blade out of its sheath, the blade glowed a deep red color, and swipes horizontally in the air that created an arc wave of fire that engulfed the area in front of him in a blaze of fiery sea inferno that annihilates all life in its path.

'Torch'

The land and trees turned into burning charcoal, and the air was so hot that it felt like it could burn one's throat when breathe in.

In a single stroke, Xiu Ye had turned an entire part of a forest filled with nature and budding life; to cinders and ash. What's more, was that he had only used 10% of his soul power to fire that kind of attack.

A terrifying loud roar was heard and the unstoppable fiery tsunami that could devour everything in its path stopped for a moment before disappearing into air, as a large and wide soundwave soon followed opposite to the fiery tsunami, which became clear that it's headed towards Xiu Ye. As the soundwave approaches towards him, the flames that engulfed the land was snuffed out by the air pressure of the soundwave.

Xiu Ye snorted, standing tall and firm like a mountain, he slightly moved his long blade, that was pointing down to his side, over his head and slashed down in front of him. As his sword's blade tip slashes down, a trail of orange red flaming vertical line appears in the air in front of him where his blades tip cuts down. The space in front of him trembled as he set it on fire, causing spatial distortions to appear in front of him.

'Spatial Blaze'

The soundwave came and continued towards him, however, just like the most iconic scene in the legend of Moses, the soundwave split into two in front of him and went pass him. Turning the trees and land behind him asunder, leaving only desolation.

.....

[Spatial Blaze] A sword skill that made Xiu Ye slash the space in front of him and lit it on fire, causing spatial distortions to appear in front of him and used them as a defense against incoming attacks.

.....

Red liquid started to drip down Xiu Ye's ears. The piercing loud roar of the soundwave had still injured him; tearing his eardrums.

'I forgot to guard my eardrums.' He clicked his tongue and raise his left hand, which began to glow green, to his left ear and cover it. The injury in his left ear began to heal and had a full recovery in just several seconds, then he moved to the other ear.

He was using Kaidō, or Healing Spiritual Arts, to heal his injuries. Kaidō is the healing art of the three types of Kidō. The spells in this art do not have known names, numbers, or incantations to cast, and simply heal the target. As the user holds his/her hands above the patient's wounds, his/her palms glow with green spiritual energy to facilitate healing. It took a while for him and Ryūjin Jakka to remake the art for him to use properly, cause of different natural laws and all that.

Just as he finishes healing his ears, a large shadow suddenly appeared in front of him that released a loud similar roar from earlier, this time however, he manages to used his soul power to guard his ears.

Xiu Ye jumped back over five away from the large shadow. After he stabilize his footing and stance, he took a careful look on the creature and he inwardly cursed about his luck.

It was three meters in length, its body was burly and buff, with rippling muscles that can make even a bodybuilder cry in jealousy, and its black fur seemed to emit a slight golden glow. But the most terrifying part about it was its extremely long claws that reached more than 2 feet in length.

Its jaw was wide opened, revealing two rows of sharp canines that looked as if it could tear through the earth and any metal. Its two yellow beady eyes narrowed down to Xiu Ye.

'A thousand fucking year old Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear. Of course.' Xiu Ye let out a sigh as he went into a Iaido stance.

Duskgold Dreadclaw Bears are rumored to be one of the most powerful bears within history and when mature, it would not need to fear any predator, not even true dragons. Should a battle between titans come to pass, the outcome would be difficult to guess. They also have the title of Earth Render.

The Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear preferred to live independently. Whether it be attack or defense, it possessed overwhelming power in every aspect. It truly was an existence that stood at the apex of the soul beast world. Their speciality lays in both offense and defense, with their dark golden furs giving them a powerful defense and with their terrifyingly sharp dark golden claws which their name comes from, giving them formidable attack power. Thus making them capable of fighting soul beasts that are more powerful than them, cultivation age wise, and kill them.

A ten year old Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear is capable of fighting against a hundred year old soul beast, a hundred year old Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear can fight against a thousand year old soul beast, a thousand year old Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear can fight against ten thousand year old soul beast, a ten thousand year old Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear can even fight against a hundred thousand year old soul beast and so forth.

The thousand year old Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear in front of him is equal to fighting a ten thousand year old soul beast.

To any normal soul master, they would had immediately ran away from such a monster and press the emergency exit button.

Xiu Ye however, grinned.

'Finally, an exciting fight!'

The Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear let out a loud growl of anger and frustration, it raised its right claw over its head and swipes down towards Xiu Ye's direction, and a dark gold claw projection appeared out of its claw that cut through the air, earth and space in its path. Xiu Ye didn't even hesitate to flash step away to the side to dodge and fired off a red arc of sword intent towards the soul beast at an extreme force and speed that it was a mere blur.

'Hitotsume: Nadegiri(The First: Killing Stroke)'

The attack hit the bear's neck, bypassing its thick and powerful fur, but it only cause a flesh wound. Blood red dyed around the fire of its wound.

The Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear let out a pained roar and turned its head towards Xiu Ye, fury in its eyes, and took large strides towards him in all fours. Every step it took caused the ground beneath its large and heavy paws to caved in. Despite being big and heavy, the beast was fast enough that it appeared in front of Xiu Ye in a blink of an eye.

Letting out a ferocious growl, it raised both of its claws, glowing in a ominous dark gold light, over its head and slashes down towards Xiu Ye, a pair of gigantic claw projectiles surged towards him; with all the elements in front of it being cut apart; and the earth turned asunder and created a small trench as the projectile attack continued on with its course.

'I can't dodge nor can I can't conjure up a barrier in time, and my body can't handle taking on such a devastating attack. It'll tear me apart. I have no choice...'

Even then, Xiu Ye wasn't flustered by the bear's terrifying attack, instead, he brought his right hand up towards it and said, with his eyes momentarily glowing silver, "I am the bone of my sword..."

"Rho Aias."

A ball of light appeared in front of Xiu Ye's hand, which contained an immense amount of soul power that was transferred from his own well of energy, that soon transformed into a pink light and separated into four parts around, that was reminiscent of a beautiful four petal flower. The four leaf flower barrier glowed in a beautiful ray of purple and pink light that expanded several meters, giving anyone the feeling of awe and security, like it was impossible for such a beautiful structure to be destroyed.

The Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear's claw projectile hit straight towards the four layer barrier, causing a blastwave around the surroundings that cut the earth beneath it apart.

Xiu Ye gritted his teeth, he was still able to feel some of the attack transmitted to him and he even felt like fainting from it. He poured more of his soul power into the barrier without any hesitation.

Fortunately for Xiu Ye, thanks to his willpower and determination, the four petal flower barrier had only slightly budge and cracked before it firmly blocked the claw projectile attack for some long moments until the energy of the attack was exhausted that it disappeared. Making him let out a sigh of relief.

Unfortunately for him however, he didn't have the time to rest. As the Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear charged towards him like how a bull would do when it saw a red cloth. Xiu Ye quickly uses Flash Step to move several meters to the left side, panting in exhaustion, he took a moment to recover himself from the ordeal as the beast continued on with its furious charge.

'I have to finish this quick. That attack from the Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear costed me about 60% of my entire soul power, add my earliest attack, leaving me with about 30%, and some internal injuries. I can't let it attack again. I can use my spiritual domain, but it's a major risk to use. I don't have enough control of it yet to use it in battle. Bloody expected, cause I don't have anyone to teach me how! I can't use most of my powerful abilities either because they need more than just 30% of my soul power. I also can't use anymore projections, it's bad enough that I used Rho Aias, which many would raise questions about, it would even worse if I traced a weapon/s that one shotted the beast and why didn't I used it earlier. This just leaves me with some abilities and my soul skills...' Xiu Ye breathe in and out calmly, he closes his eyes, calming his nerves and emotions as he readied a stance.

He could hear the fast movement of the big bad bear heading towards him, the ground shaking uncontrollably from under the weight of the soul beast.

His body began to glow purple light, and a pair of purple thousand year old soul rings appeared moving up and down his body before moving towards the Crimson Yang Sword.

Xiu Ye opens his eyelids, showing his pair of golden eyes that showed no fear, only determination.

"...It'll be enough." Xiu Ye flashed step forward and appeared in front of the Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear, momentarily stunning it before it swipes its right claw towards him but it only cuts through his uniform, leaving it stunned once more.

He used Utsusemi to leave his uniform behind to act as a diversion as he jumps up high, the sword's blade tip pointing down vertically, simultaneously, the second soul ring around it glowed in a purple light, bathing the sword and even his body in a purple light. He used his second soul skill, Weight Manipulation, for the first time. As the name suggests, he is able to manipulate his martial soul, spirit soul, projections, body and anything related to a weapon's weight.

Xiu Ye manipulated the weight of the Crimson Yang Sword to be more than 100k kilograms. The moment he used it, it causes his drop down to go so rapidly that his figure blurred. He could also no longer have the ability to move the sword around, but why would he?

He dropped down as fast as a falling meteor directly to on the head of the Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear!

The Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear wasn't even able to let out sound out as its life was taken, its head pierced perfectly through and into the ground, which, due to the sword's weight, not only brought the soul beast down but also caused a massive crater to appear that caused shockwaves to spread.

Silence. Silence soon followed after a loud and devastating fight between a boy, no, a warrior against a soul beast.

Xiu Ye panted out hard, standing tall on top of the head of the dead carcass of the Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear with the Crimson Yang Sword's handle in hand. Deactivating his soul skill, no longer feeling the unmovable weight of his sword, he slumped down to his knees; feeling extremely exhausted physically and of soul power by the entire fight. He even ignored the white ball of energy rising from the soul beast's body before it entered his body and nourished his spirit soul.

He won... A chuckle left his mouth before it turned into a full blown laughter. "Hahahahahaha! I won! Wooo! That was both so terrifying and adrenaline rushing that made me think that I had a cardiac arrest for a moment there. Still, it was so oddly satisfying."

But why though? Was it because he lived through a life and death situation? Was it because he defeated a powerful opponent than he could normally get? Was it because he'd been pushed past his normal limits? Or was it because he had finally used up some of his true power in real life without any worry of repercussions? All of the above, probably? He would go with that. He was too tired to care about his feelings of the entire thing.

He looked around, feeling both impressed and nervous by the aftermath of his battle with the Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear while using his spiritual power to have the light element surround him and heal him. He let out a moan, as he felt the sweet, sweet healing properties of the light element in and around his body.

Though, speaking of the soul beast... He looked on it and noticed something off about it. Despite already being dead, he felt an enormous amount of undulating soul power emitting from its right claw.

"Oh hello..."
