1 Chapter 1: Xiu Ye

Twenty thousand years passed since the evil Spirit Hall and a forgotten ancient evil were defeated, and the first legends that ascended into gods were told and spread.

Ten thousand years had passed since the new gods of the world had ascended and the god realm was lost.

It was ten thousand years ago as well, the remnants of the Heaven Dou Empire after its defeat at the hands of the Sun-Moon Empire had embarked on a voyage and had experienced many hardships and perils. In the end, they discovered a huge continent which also had some indigenous humans. However, their development couldn't even compare with the Douluo Continent's. They were conquered by the Heaven Dou remnants and the continent was named the Heaven Dou Continent.

On the Douluo Continent, the conflict between the Sun-Moon Empire and the Star Luo Empire was never ending. While the Sun-Moon Empire rapidly developed, the Star Luo Empire gradually declined. Instead, they chose to take a different route. The Star Luo Empire decided to invest in seafaring technology. Thanks to their research, they were able to discover another large continent which was followed by a quiet occupation shortly afterwards. With the whole continent taken, the Star Luo Empire migrated the whole empire over along with their many resources and named it the Star Luo Continent. Afterwards, the Star Luo Empire also changed to a federal system and became the Star Luo Federation.

The Sun-Moon Empire was able to unify the Douluo Continent and became the Sun-Moon Federation.

Currently, in the present time. Glorybound City was a small town sitting on the border between the ocean and the eastern coast of the Sun-Moon Federation.

Today was an exceptionally bustling day in the city, it was the annual Awakening Day.

Every family with a child would be happy at such a day, for this day would awaken their martial soul.

All of the people residing upon the Douluo Continent possessed something called a "martial soul." The martial soul was a part of the body which could be awakened when they became six years old, regardless of whether they were animals or plants. Through the means of an awakening ceremony, they were able to awaken their own martial soul. This was precisely the purpose of the annual Awakening Day, to awaken their martial souls.

If someone's martial soul was a hoe, then their ability to till the fields would far exceed those of others. If instead they had an animal for a martial soul, they might possess some of the abilities of said animal. Due to this, the martial soul had long since become the most significant factor in determining someone's life.

However, the emergence of soul power was even more important. Soul power was a type of energy that nourished and upgraded the martial soul. Although everyone possessed a martial soul, only one in a thousand people might possess soul power.

The soul power rank represented someone's future and power. As soon as their martial soul was awakened, they could cultivate soul power in order to nourish and upgrade their martial soul. Thus, over the 100,000 years the Douluo Continent has existed, the most noble profession has been that of a Soul Master.

Hence why everyone, even commoners, would look forward to their children becoming six years old and awakening their martial soul, in hopes that they would possess soul power. If they possessed soul power, their lives would be transformed, benefitting them and their whole family.

Every child would like to be at where the awakening ritual is taking place, well, almost every child.

"But do I have to?" A boy with short spiky red hair complained with a yawn, his pair of golden brown eyes droopy and hazy, signifying that he was indeed sleepy. He was 1.2 meters tall, with a medium build body, a cute face befitting his age as a six year old.

"Oh stop whining you little brat, this is an important day for you after all." A young woman in her early twenties, rolled her eyes, and said. She was at a average height, with the rest not average; with straight golden long hair that reached her waist, an odd hair color in the Sun-Moon Federation, a pair of teal-colored eyes that makes anyone who stare into them sense chills running down their spines, and a body of a succubus what with her double DD's and heart shaped ass. Which is totally ironic cause she's wearing a nun outfit.

Truly, a body of sin and purity.

"Sister Yu Fei, even if you said that, couldn't we just, oh I don't know, waited for breakfast first before coming here?!" The boy held the sides of his head with both of his hands in frustration, mist covering his eyes; as he could feel his stomach eating itself apart.

He was just enjoying his day dreaming on his precious soft bed, when this demon disguised as a sister woke him up early before dawn so he could participate in this annual Awakening Day.

Sister Yu Fei rolled her eyes once more and sigh. Without saying anything she checked her purse then quietly left the boy's side, who's still complaining for several moments, and returned soon after.

"Okay brat, stop being a pain and eat this." The boy stopped at his act and turned towards Yu Fei, his eyes immediately eyeing a plastic bag filled with five steamed buns.

"Thank you sis!" Thanking her, the boy's hand went to the plastic bag, took it, and quickly devour the buns under sister Yu Fei's eyes.

As he ate a steaming hot, but delicious, bun and looked around his surroundings, he couldn't help but wander in his mind.

His name is Xiu Ye, a normal six year old boy who is secretly a reincarnated person. He lived a normal past life, with no family, friends, lovers and died alone with a truck ramming into him while he was just enjoying some afternoon coffee at Starbucks.

He remembered the pain of a huge metal vehicle ramming into him, his hot coffee splashing his face, metal and glass dug deep into his body, and then total darkness.

Which didn't last long, and he awoken to find that he reincarnated as a baby in the fictional world of douluo dalu, specifically the third timeline.

How he had gotten that information? Well, stories being told by the other caretakers in the orphanage he lived at told of the legends of Tang San and Huo Yuhao, and with no Tang Wulin, had Xiu Ye immediately marked this as the third timeline. Especially since space exploration is still not available.

This could be either good or bad for him. Good, cause he can live normally like he did in his past life, what with the modern/futuristic era and all. Bad, cause there's a whole lot of crisis this world is going to go through that Xiu Ye, unfortunately, could partially remember since it's been a while since he read the novel.

'Ugh, everything should be alright. No need to panic. As long as nothing happens to the protagonist, Tang Wulin, or what the consequences of my actions would do in the future, it'll be alright...' Xiu Ye ate the last bun with a nervous expression. Though thankfully he's not so defenseless and weak. Although he's a lazy guy and a foodie in his past and current life, with the threats of this world having to face, he had kept himself in shape with some light exercises and practiced some boxing cause he didn't want to die a second time.

His eyes wandered around, trying to pass the time till his name is called when he suddenly hears a particular excited voice near him.

"Dad, what do you think my martial soul will be?"

Hearing such familiar line of words, Xiu Ye's curiosity caused him to turned to see the person who spoke those words.

It was a small boy, just barely six years old, who those words with excitement as he looked towards his father. He had a pair of large eyes filled with a longing for the future.

The young boy had a head full of short black hair and a stature slightly taller than others of the same age. However, his most attractive feature were his large, clear black eyes and long eyelashes which wouldn't lose to a girl at all. Even with his commoner's clothing, his outstanding appearance could easily draw the eyes of others.

His father was a middle aged man who shared a similar appearance. He had a medium build and an average height, everything about him was just average.

"Dad doesn't know either. It all depends on luck." His father released a gloomy sigh within his heart.

Their faces might be unfamiliar to Xiu Ye, cause this world ain't animated that he'll recognize them from their manhua counterparts, but their interaction between each other and the timing of such conversation led him to believe that the boy is Tang Wulin and his adoptive father Tang Ziran.

Xiu Ye secretly let out a sigh of relief in his heart that he finds that there were no irregularities on Tang Wulin physically, which he further hoped that there wouldn't be any mental issues as well, he actually thought for a while that there would be some large butterfly effect in this world caused by his existence. Like probably genderbending some characters starting with the main protagonist.

'This is good. With Tang Wulin probably normal, which he really isn't as his future self would be the Golden Dragon King Incarnate and father of the second Dragon God, which is pretty messed up if you think about it, the story would advance as it originally would. Which means I can live my life in mediocrity and normalcy. Yes! As long as I get some normal martial soul, even a trash one like the blue silver grass is fine, I can get a job and earned money for my needs!' His face bright and smile wide, he and Yu Fei waited, alongside with the other families in the streets of the Red Mountain Academy, where he and the other kids would awaken their martial soul.

As time passed, the sun's radiance intensified, causing some people to sweat dropped from the heat.

Tang Wulin's name was already called a while ago and Xiu Ye watched as he saw the dejected tired protagonist and his father walked out of the academy and probably return home.

"Xiu Ye!" A tired looking teacher from the academy called out, a list of names on his hands.

"I'm here!" Xiu Ye said out loud with his hand raised. He and Yu Fei stepped forward to stand in front of the teacher.

"Good. Follow me." The teacher nodded and simply said. He then turned the heel of his shoes and walked back ahead towards the academy. Xiu Ye and Yu Fei then followed him behind.

As they walked along the small path inside of the academy, Xiu Ye was calmly taking everything in. It was just thanks to his mature mentality of his past life that he didn't just gush around like a country bumpkin, though it is still fascinating and exciting to looked around such futuristic looking school facility.

It was just like he had said, everything was a novelty to him. Red Mountain Academy was an elementary grade comprehensive academy able to hold two thousand students. The buildings within the academy were all simple and unadorned with white roofs and red walls. The academy grounds were exceptionally clean. Awakening Day was right before the start of a new term. In comparison to the clamor outside of the walls, the academy seemed unusually peaceful. Xiu Ye's heart seemed to have been calmed by this environment.

The teacher brought them to the front of a circular building before telling Yu Fei, "Would the child's parent please wait here for a moment?"

"..."

"..."

"... Is something the matter?" The teacher asked in confusion at the sudden silence the two gave him.

Xiu Ye and Yu Fei both simultaneously turned towards at each other to stare, specifically, their faces. They both stared intently, looking at every detail of their faces; hair, eyes, nose, mouth and bone structure. As if wanting to commit the other's face to memory.

Minutes passed as the teacher awkwardly waited in place, he watched the strange scene in front of him with a twitching mouth.

'Should I call for security?' The teacher internally debated in his mind, and as more time passed, his hand slowly went to his soul communicator.

But he quickly stopped and retracted his hand as Xiu Ye and Yu Fei turned towards him with narrowed eyes.

"The hell are you talking about?" They both simultaneously said at the teacher with a undisguised contempt tone of voice, as if they were looking at an idiot.

"... Huh?" The teacher tilted his head in total confusion. His previous action forgotten as he deals with the strange pair in front of him.

"We said, 'The hell are you talking about?'. What are you, deaf as well?" Yu Fei with an annoyed tone of voice as she crossed her arms under her bedoonkers, causing the teacher to looked at them with wide eyes and swallowing down a mouthful of saliva.

"*Gulp* I-I mean, aren't you this boy's mother?" The teacher, ignoring the blatant insult she had said, pointed out while he turned to face away the sexy juicy nun in front of him. Repeating words of: 'I have a wife and child. I have a wife and child. I have a wife and child.' in his head.

Yu Fei rolled her eyes as she pointed at herself, stating, "Do you see what outfit I'm currently wearing? Also, do you think someone at my age would have a kid this big already? Not to mention the fact that there would be no way I'll spawn a kid like him."

"Oi, I'm right here and that last sentence was uncalled for!" Xiu Ye rebutted, his right eyebrow twitching.

"You were meant to and the last one was at the heat of the moment." Yu Fei shrugged indifferently, completely not caring, as she crossed her arms once more under her melons.

"... I'm not a simp." Xiu Ye simply said with his arms crossed between his chest.

The two locked eyes at each other, then the two pair of eyes narrowed, within their gazes were flames of determination and will to not back down. It was an epic showdown...

The teacher looked between the two by the side, his expression had fell flat when Xiu Ye and Yu Fei started bickering like, ironically, a strict mother and a rebellious son.

"They're related alright."
