Her Greatest Weakness

Stepping through the tree line Wulin immediately took notice of the carefully controlled difference in temperature. The temperature dropped by over fifteen degrees yet it was finely controlled to the small clearing in the forest.

"It seems you've won." Wulin spoke to his other half blandly, hardly surprised by the result. The space element was extremely helpful for such a thing. Normally their teacher would have requested she didn't use her other elements but it was useless.

Gu Yuena was already affiliated with the Spirit Pagoda, they long since understood her martial soul, at least on the surface. The only reason she restricted herself to only the sub element of ice was to show how powerful even a small portion of one of the elements she controlled was.

"Somehow you don't seem surprised." Gu Yuena said coyly, gingerly taking his hand into her own with practiced ease after making sure they were completely clean. It was only a few minutes prior that his hands, especially his knuckles, were caked in the blood of dozens.

"How could I be?" Wulin asked her lightly, a slight curl of his lips showing his amusement. His other half was not one he could beat in terms of long distance speed. He could beat her in explosive speed but teleportation was not something he could compete with easily.

No matter how fast he was, if she could gather the coordinates and gather the space element before he arrived there he would lose. Spatial users weren't moving through space like he was, they were folding it to arrive wherever they pleased.

"I suppose that's true." Gu Yuena said lightly, as their power merged and empower one another endlessly. There was no way for Wulin to defeat her in a race of long distance such as this one even if he was quite a bit faster than her.

Well, that wasn't exactly true. If Wulin went out of his way to destabilize the surrounding space to a sufficient degree then even she would have trouble teleporting away. In that situation, perhaps Wulin would win.

"Was he a challenge?" Wulin questioned his other half, his crimson eyes locked onto the corpse of the Intermediate platform's guardian that was pinned to the ground by an ice spike. From what he had seen he doubted it but his inner love for battle hoped he was.

"No, not really. I would rank him just above our former classmates in difficulty." Gu Yuena replied without care. It was a slight exaggeration, but it contained a hint of truth no matter how unbelievable. Not only was the former class 5 fairly powerful but the guardian was also weak.

"I see." Wulin spoke softly, a trace of disappointment in his voice. He had recently discovered that he quite enjoyed combat as a whole so he had high hopes for the guardian as a teaser of what they would find in the outskirts of the Intermediate realm.

"He was disappointing but I have fairly high expectations for the others in the area." Gu Yuena spoke lightly, gingerly looking around the area. While none of them could cross the barrier between areas there were quite a few Spirit Beasts watching them.

"Mhm." Wulin hummed in response, flicking his eyes over the Spirit Beasts watching the two halves of the Dragon God. Unlike the fairly young beasts of the elementary region, they were all at least a thousand years old.

"In any case, I believe I'm ready to meet your friends soon. Please ask them to find time in their schedule for me." Gu Yuena requested casually, avoiding mentioning anything about their affiliation in consideration of all the people watching them.

"Should I ask them to come later today?" Wulin asked her, ultimately leaving the choice to her in case she is too tired to do it after this. It was sweet, however, there was one problem with what he said. How could such busy people come at the drop of a hat?

"Are they that free? I assumed they would have been pretty busy." Gu Yuena said, the surprise in her voice obvious. They were running a cult that was quickly gaining power equal to the four great powers, how could they not be busy?

"I'd assume they are free since they've never failed to answer my summons." Wulin replied simply, his words stunning Gu Yuena. However, at the same time, it made Gu Yuena realize that FUG was truly a cult.

Grace Mirchea Luslec was the greatest god and nobody would dare make him wait, especially those other Slayers who had personally been saved by him in the past. They would throw away whatever they were doing to ensure they didn't displease their God.

The group known as FUG was a congregation of pure loyalty and devotion. How the previously emotionless Tang Wulin had managed to make such a group was beyond her. She understood that he was quite charismatic but that didn't mitigate her surprise.

"I see. In any case, I'd like to fit into their schedule. There's no reason to rush." Gu Yuena replied simply, the devotion of FUG in the back of her mind. The Spirit Beasts should be like that but they are far from it.

Di Tian doubts her every order and goes behind her back as he pleases and the other Great Beasts hardly listen to her and yet they still act as though they have the utmost loyalty for her while disobeying her every order.

She was the famed Silver Dragon King who they followed and yet they don't trust her opinion for anything. There isn't a day that passes that Di Tian doesn't demand she steals the power of her other half to become the Dragon God.

Even the fact that her other half is leagues more powerful than her at the current moment doesn't deter him. In fact, it may have made it worse. Due to Wulin taming the raging destruction of the Golden Dragon King the Great Beasts believed it to be the perfect time to take it all from him.

They believed that as long as they forced him to use the power of his |Level 4| she could swoop in when the universal order takes hold of him and steal his bloodline. In theory, the plan may work as the Great Beasts are all extremely powerful.

However, there were two issues with the plan. First, they would all surely die from the attempt though they don't care much about this fact as they trust her to revive them. The second issue however was much more important, to her at least.

She may have fallen for the second Golden Dragon King.

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.

Love is in the air! Recently I was advised that just shilling my patreon without any kind of imput wasn't exactly a "good business strategy" so I'll be leaving little things related to the chapter here at the end. Muwahaha, no you can't help but witness my attempts for your money!

If you want more chapters, head to patre*on.com/TrapOverlord for up to 25 extra chapters. It isn't required but it'd be much appreciated.
