31 Flipping the Chess Board

"Three people?" Gu Yuena muttered in complete bewilderment. Three people destroyed a branch of the world's strongest power? It was news that would shake the very foundation of the world itself.

"That's right, only three people." Wu Zhangkong repeated, fully understanding her surprise. At least, he thought he did. While he was shocked at the absurdity of it she was shocked that it required three people at all!

"Who were they?" Gu Yuena asked seriously, barely resisting the urge to glance at her other half out of instinct. She was confident that the two individuals were the comrades of her other half which made his heart warm so she was interested, not only ranking them as a threat but also a potential ally.

"Everyone that would know is dead… is what I would normally say." Wu Zhangkong said, a frown on his face. "People were able to recover, no find, audio files recorded by the Spirit Pagoda's security system." Their teacher continued through gritted teeth.

When people gathered just five minutes after the tower had fallen there was a chip holding the audio files. They didn't find the audio file, they were given it. At first, they were confused however once they watched the second part…

The audio file only had the introduction of the three perpetrators however that's not all there was. There was also footage of disgusting things happening beneath that prestigious tower, vile things that could never be forgiven.

"Teacher Wu?" Gu Yuena asked, suddenly concerned about what was happening. She could sense that their teacher's energies were getting riled up, almost like they were disgusted and well beyond angry

"In any case, there were three people involved, they called themselves Slayers of a cult known as FUG that suddenly appeared about three years ago." Wu Zhangkong explained with a frown. Just yesterday if you asked him he would lean toward believing FUG evil and the Spirit Pagoda just. What a farce.

The 'evil' FUG had saved the tortured and abandoned people hidden below the surface of the 'just' Spirit Pagoda. They were exact opposites of their public appearance. However, he had learned his lesson. FUG may appear just but he will believe in them until he learns the truth.

The same applied to Shrek and the Tang Sect as well. Wu Zhangkong had learned a new lesson this morning that he thought he already knew. He understood that each organization well had a dark side however he underestimated it.

"The Third Slayer called himself Pephomemore Seto. Based on incorruptible data he seems to have been the one to fight the Branch Head. The Second Slayer called himself Imort, it is unknown who he faced. The First Slayer…" Wu Zhangkong paused, thinking deeply about how to word what he was about to say.

The First Slayer… was a god. That's what he wanted to say however he wouldn't believe that. Gods were not able to be born for over ten thousand years since the God Realm suddenly vanished. For a god to suddenly appear is impossible.

"The First Slayer is Grace Mirchea Luslec, he is frequently known as the God of Devils and it appears the title Absolute Darkness has become attached to him as well." Wu Zhangkong explained briefly.

Grace Mirchea Luslec… was an anomaly. He possessed enough power to be considered a god and yet nobody had ever heard of him before FUG was born. It was as though he never existed at all. It all culminated in people considering him a foreign god.

"The God of Devils." Gu Yuena muttered quietly, her eyes flickering over to Tang Wulin. It wasn't the most fitting title for the second Golden Dragon King though if she thought of devils as being formed of sin as people seemed to believe it actually fit quite well.

"According to… reliable sources he was the one to ultimately destroy the Spirit Pagoda." Wu Zhangkong continued after a moment. The First Slayer had appeared in the underground facility so they had seen the formation of the final attack so they had a vague idea of what happened.

All the cameras that could have seen the First Slayers were audio only so they could only rely on the view of nearby cameras. From what they had heard and could assume he had the ability to destroy all the doors at once and then open a portal through space or something similar to allow the captives to escape.

The cameras had also managed to catch the final attack and it was horrifying. All they had managed to catch in the facility was that there were two parts, a crimson light that destroyed anything it touched and a solid almost lightning like crimson energy that jumped from matter to matter growing stronger, both of which line up with what witnesses have said.

"Why did they do it?" Tang Wulin asked, finally entering the conversation. He was only asking to keep his connection to the incident impossible, more than it already was at least. This would be plenty though, his connection was already impossible to find.

Instantly Gu Yuena returned her focus back to the topic at hand from her own internal deliberations. Depending on the severity of the cause which she assumed to be severe based on Tang Wulin's lacking personality it could become something severe.

Depending on how angered the Tang Sect and Shrek are they may wage war on the Spirit Pagoda and the Federation would definitely take the side of the Spirit Pagoda due to the spirit souls. The Douluo Continent may be engulfed in war because of something that happened on another continent.

"This… is not a matter for children." Wu Zhangkong said, clearly drawing a line in the sand while also showing the severity of the situation. He had told them almost everything he, a high ranking member of the Tang Sect, knew but he would not tell them what they did under their tower.

It was his own selfishness but he didn't want them to know what had happened in that facility, the ruthless torture and broken dreams, the lives lost, the talents stolen, the vile 'research'. He didn't want them to know any of it.

"Ok." Gu Yuena replied with a sigh of regret. She would like to know how severe the situation was so she can determine whether it'd be worth staying with them or perhaps giving the method to create Spirit Souls to another group but she didn't need to force their teacher to figure it out.

"All of this matters little to you all at the moment. Learn from it and mature, that is your task." Wu Zhangkong said seriously before heading toward the door to give them time to change out of their sweat filled workout clothing as class started soon. He also had to change as well.

Stepping through the doorway he paused, something he had long since forgotten resurfacing in his mind. It wasn't something of particular importance this year, especially with this morning's events, so it slipped his mind.

"By the way, you'll be fighting in the Class Promotion Tournament." He declared, closing the door behind him.
