Chapter 85: Dance with the Devil

"There's one of the intruders!"

"Is that... Elder Tie Chang and other more elders?"

"They're battling the intruders! Brothers, let's hurry up and join our brave Elders!"

"For the Sect!"

'N-No... You guys, don't come here! Run!' Tie Chang desperately tried to warn their sect members but he couldn't, not with how half of his face was pressed hard against the concrete ground. His brothers also suffered the same treatment, with three of them already passed out.

He couldn't understand it. He knew the danger Tang Ya and her mysterious companion posed, but he never expected such overwhelming force. This boy, is he really part of the current generation of the Shrek Seven Monsters? The color of his soul rings really suggests that but the number of it doesn't make sense! He had a black soul ring at Soul Grandmaster!

What kind of monster were they dealing with?! Also, why are their members rushing towards him so foolishly? Can't they see how utterly fucked they are for jumping him?

The Sect members rushed to the scene, determination etched on their faces as they prepared to confront their unknown enemy.

Tie Chang couldn't move his head and mouth, except for his eyes. So he managed to see as their sect disciples rushed on over towards him and his brothers with courage and spirit, all with the intention of saving them.

For a moment, he dared to hope, on the slim chance, that they could save him and his brothers from their deaths.

Sadly, that illusion was shattered by a cold, indifferent voice.

"How boring."

Snow fell from the sky as Huo Yuhao's voice echoed through the air. The temperature dropped even further, causing the sect members to shiver uncontrollably. A wave of ice swept through the sect members, freezing them in place. Their bodies became encased in ice, unable to move or defend themselves.

Tie Chang watched in horror as his sect members, his brothers, were trapped and helpless. He struggled against his restraints, desperately wanting to help them, but his efforts were in vain.

Huo Yuhao casually sat on Tie Chang's freezing body, elbow on his knee and chin on his fist. He didn't worry about accidentally freezing any of them to death, he had excellent control over his ultimate ice control, plus, the man was a soul master.

This would've gone way easier if he didn't capture them for Tang Ya sake, but oh well. A promise is a promise.

Huo Yuhao's eyes narrowed, his Sharingan peering into the main building of the Ironblood Sect where he found Tie Li and a couple people, with Soul King cultivation, waiting in ambush for her in the training hall.

He watched them for a moment, observing their strength and weapons they have, and let out a sigh of relief.

'Tang Ya can handle them, though it won't be an easy battle but this is her fight. The most that I can do for her is to get rid of any meddling interference. Now, where is that person?' Huo Yuhao's eyes squinted, his Spiritual Detection covered the entire 10 mile radius of the land. No matter what walls there are, nothing could escape his vision and he locked onto a strong aura hiding in the building.

A cold glint flashed across Huo Yuhao's eyes.

'Found you.'

Huo Yuhao stood up from Tie Chang's frozen body and disappeared into a flurry of snowflakes.

....

Tang Ya looked around the familiar yet unfamiliar walls around her, a mix emotions of melancholy and determination filling her heart. This was the place where she had grown up, where she had trained and honed her skills, spent her childhood with her loving parents.

But, ever since that day, it was tainted by the presence of the Ironblood Sect, led by the bastard Tie Li. Someone that her parents even once called a friend.

She clenched her fists, feeling the weight of her determination in every muscle of her body. The time for retribution had come, and she would not let anything or anyone stand in her way.

As she moved deeper into the building, she blinked her eyes and saw through the walls with great clarity, 'Yuhao's Spiritual Sharing Detection?' she thought, lightly smiling as she saw Tie Li at the training hall with two of his subordinates waiting to ambush her.

She took a deep breath, calming down the angry vengeful emotions running through her veins. The urge to blindly run in there and scream bloody murder as she uses her Dark Blue Silver Grass to pierce his body into holes, but she can't. Not unless she wants to get herself killed.

She might be on a power trip after increasing her cultivation to Soul Ancestor and getting a ten thousand year soul ring, but her training as a former Tang Sect member and after undergoing some rigid shinobi training had drilled patience and discipline into her being.

Revenge is sweet, but not at the cost of one's life.

Yet, despite knowing there was an ambush waiting for her, Tang Ya walked towards the training hall with confidence. She knew she had to be cautious, but she also believed in her own abilities. She had trained hard, honed her skills, and obtained powerful soul skills. She was not the same girl who had been bullied and beaten down all those years ago.

As she approached the training hall, she observed her surroundings, relying on Huo Yuhao's eyes to analyze any possible traps or hidden enemies. She could sense the presence of Tie Li and his subordinates, but she also felt another strong aura lurking nearby.

Then the familiar figure of Huo Yuhao appeared behind the strong figure for a moment, and the latter was kicked into several rooms away.

Tang Ya stared at the wall in disbelief and chuckled to herself, "Thanks, Yuhao." With renewed determination, she continued towards the training hall, ready to face her enemies head-on.

"Tang Ya..."

Not a moment after she stepped into the training hall, Tie Li's deep and cold voice echoed through the hall, stopping Tang Ya in her tracks. She looked towards the source of the voice, her eyes narrowing in anger.

"Tie Li," she spat out, her voice laced with venom. "It's been a long a time. How's life? By the way, did you find the secret hair growth medicine? Ah, judging by the lack of hair on your head... I guess not."

Numerous veins popped on Tie Li's forehead as he glared at Tang Ya, he sat on a cushion on his knees. "You little brat... It's been years and you're still the same pain in the ass. What? Was killing your parents and stealing your shit not enough to change you attitude?"

Tang Ya's eye twitched, her fists curled tightly at her side. "You think I'm the same little girl you used to bully? Well, I've changed, Tie Li. And I'm not here for petty insults or to exchange banter with you. I'm here for revenge."

Tie Li scoffed, a cruel smirk forming on his face. "Revenge, huh? Last time I checked, revenge didn't bring back the dead. You're wasting your time, Tang Ya."

"Oh, I know it won't bring them back," Tang Ya retorted, a fire burning in her eyes. A more sinister cruel smirk appeared on her lips. "But it will bring me closure. Now, are you going to stand down your men and let your son die or... I kill them both of them and kill your son in front of you, painfully slow while you do nothing but watch."

"Where's my son?!" Tie Li growled, his eyes bloodshot as he stood up.

Tang Ya coldly snorted and waved her hand, and a two meter tall block of ice appeared before her.

But something was off about the block of ice, it had a frightened looking fellow frozen within it.

"Xiao Tang!" Tie Li cried out, his voice filled with panic and desperation. "Let him go! Men, kill her!"

"Kill me, he dies."

Tang Ya's calm voice echoed through the training hall, her eyes flashed with a dark purple hue as a large dark scythe appeared an inch away from decapitating her and a large claw from tearing out her intestines.

"...What do you mean?" Tie Li questioned.

The cold smirk on her face remained as she explained, "See, the friend who's with me is a great soul engineer and he made a lot of innovative things. One of them, is a certain explosive type soul tool that I've inserted into his brain. It activates when one of the two requirements is met."

"First is when my heart stops, second is when I trigger it myself with a mental command." A sadistic gleam flashed across her eyes as she saw the fear and horror in Tie Li's expression. "So, you see; I die, he dies. You don't listen to any of my commands, he dies. So, if these two bastards don't lower weapons soon–"

"Jacob, Zhing. Back down." Tie Li's face paled, his eyes wide with shock and fear. "You... you wouldn't dare."

Tang Ya chuckled darkly, tilting her head to the side. "Oh, I assure you, Tie Li. I have every right to kill your precious child as you did with my parents. So, what's it going to be?"

Tie Li gritted his teeth and after moment of resistance, he lowered his head.

"What do you want?"

"Kill your subordinates." Tang Ya coldly commanded.

Tie Li looked conflicted for a moment before he left out a sigh and snapped his fingers.

To the shock of Tang Ya, she watched as the subordinates that had held her at gun point had unhesitatingly slit their throats and died on the spot.

'Why did his subordinates do that without hesitation? They're a Soul King! They couldn't have just done it out of pure loyalty... could they?'

Tang Ya pondered on the question for a moment and then came up with several theories, with the main being that they weren't just your average person. They were most likely child soldiers cultivated by Tie Li's family or that they signed some kind of ridiculous contract that affects the parties.

"I've done what you've asked, now, let go of my son!" Tie Li pleaded, going to his knees.

Tang Ya smiled and nodded.

As Tie Li looked up, to his shock and horror, Tie Tang's head exploded out alongside many shards of ice. Numerous dark-blue thorny vines surface out of the ground and quickly entangled Tie Li.

"TANG YAAAAAA! I'M GONNA KILL YOU!!'

....

Somewhere else in the main building, Huo Yuhao stood with a serious expression as he faced his opponent.

"Oh my, oh my." Huo Yuhao's opponent let out a sinister laugh. "To think I'd see another little monster in this old city."

Huo Yuhao remained silent, his eyes locked onto his opponent. He knew that this fight would not be easy. His opponent was a Soul Sage at least rank 75, and from the looks of it, a highly skilled one at that as well.

"Well, I was getting bored anyway." Huo Yuhao excitedly smirked. "Hey, mysterious strong stranger. Wanna dance?"

His opponent was caught off by the question for a moment and chuckled, a dark aura began emitting from his body.

"Thought you'd never ask." He smirked and charged at him.
