Chapter 51: Rant

"You're courting death, Skydream!"

Skydream merely smiled against her killing intent. "Hehe. Your temper still hasn't after all these years. Though, considering your current condition, it isn't unexpected."

The frigid blizzard intensified, as if it was responding to the Ice Empress's anger. The air became thick with ice and snow, obscuring visibility. The jade green sky instantly turned dark green. An intense killing intent descended from the sky, and the originally protected hundred meter diameter around the Skydream Iceworm's body instantly shrank.

However, the Skydream Iceworm wasn't scared of the Ice Emperor in a simple contest of spiritual power. Looking nonchalant, he raised his arms. "Come now, Ice Empress. I didn't mean it that way, do you know why I've chosen to come back at a time like this? It's because I've calculated that you're about to reach your limit and reach a dead end within a hundred years. At that time, you won't be able to break through to the next rank. Then, you'll disappear in this icy world."

The terrifying winds of ice and snow slowly quiet down, the sky dimmed as well, as if responding to Ice Empress reaction to Skydream's words.

"Interesting. To think the little worm can be this emotional..." Ancestor muttered, rubbing his chin in amusement.

Huo Yuhao who watched all of this happening, knew it was serious and it could certainly to his death, couldn't help but feel uncomfortable.

'...Brother Skydream, out of everyone you knew, why did you have to choose my face as your human form?' Huo Yuhao inwardly sighed, feeling a little complicated.

After all, in his entire life, all he knew was a mother's love. Now he was witnessing someone, a soul beast at that, pouring out his heart to another soul beast.

'Is this how love feels?' Huo Yuhao couldn't help but wonder. A moment later his eyes turned flat, dead and empty. 'My mother felt that way to my father, and yet what did he do for her?'

The darkness brewing in his heart grew and seemingly caused his soul power to slightly darkened.

Ancestor was surprised. He knew that the curse of hatred in Huo Yuhao would cause his feelings of anger, hatred, and resentment to grow stronger over time, but he didn't expect it to spread out faster than expected.

'Geez, just how much of a momma's boy is my incarnation?' Ancestor rubbed his head.

"Ice Empress, I came all this way to see you and but you're not even willing to come and see me in person?"

Ice Empress's cold voice rang out again. "Hmph. There's no need. In consideration to our...past, I'm giving you the chance to get out of my sight and walk out unharmed from my territory."

Although there wasn't a change on Skydream's face, surprise flickered across his eyes.

'What? Bing'er, being merciful? Did the sun shine in Extreme North or something?!'

All of their interaction they've had was about a predator and its prey, it was in their nature and their instincts. Skydream was the strange one in his tribe that had taken a liking to his predator. Plus, with his One Million Year title, Ice Empress would never let him off this easily!

'Has she finally reciprocated a bit of my feelings...?! No, that can't be possible. The last time I've seen her, she was dead serious on tearing me apart and use every part of my body as a tonic. So what's going on...'

As Skydream was pondering, Ice Empress voice sounded out once more. "Now that you've seen me, you can now piss off! I've got something important to do right now, goodbye worm..."

'No! I can't let her go, the whole God Plan would be nothing without her help. Dammit, looks like I have no choice!' Skydream gritted his teeth and took a deep breath.

"Hey, bitch! Where do you think you're going?! I'm not done talking here!"

Skydream's sudden outburst caught everyone by surprise, especially Huo Yuhao and Ancestor.

This was the first time they'd ever heard Skydream use such a derogatory term to address someone. And although he would insult and complain against Ancestor, this was just completely out of character for him, and it shocked them.

'Bro...' Huo Yuhao inwardly said, stunned.

"Not bad little worm." Ancestor chuckled.

As for Ice Empress? Well, it was pretty much obvious.

The entire sky turned completely bright green, as if electricity was coursing through it. The air crackled with energy, and the temperature dropped even further.

"Is that how you speak to me, trash? A lowly worm like you dares to insult me?" Her voice dripped with venom, her killing intent growing even stronger.

Skydream, however, remained calm and composed. He knew that his current approach might be risky, but it was the only way to get her attention.

'I'll apologize later, I'm so sorry Bing'er.' Closing his eyes, Skydream began yelling once more.

"Yeah, so what? Don't you know who the fuck I am? I'm a motherfucking One Million Year Old soul beast, the first one since the Divine War! I'm someone to be respected! Not look down to, especially by someone younger than me!" He yelled with such passion that golden spit sprayed out of his mouth.

'Huh. It, it kinda feels satisfying...' Skydream huffed, a maniac look in his eyes.

"Y-You...!"

"You, what? You know who I am! I might be of a lowly blood compared to you, Snow Empress and that Titan Ice Devil King, but this guy at the bottom of the barrel still managed to eclipsed you all who said to have the Ice God's blood! Every creature in the Extreme North knows who the fuck I am!"

"So instead of calling me all kinds names, call me for the name that I deserved to have," Skydream panted, a bit out of breath. He quickly calmed his breathing and looked up at the empty, silent air and muttered with a dead serious expression. "C'mon...say my name."

Huo Yuhao stared.

'Damn.'

Was this seriously the same Skydream that Ancestor bullied everyday?

'Eh, did I go too far?' Skydream thought as he heard nothing from the Ice Empress for a while now.

His expression changed.

"Yuhao, the preparations are all ready. When I give you the signal, you'll have to endure the cold. You'll have to persevere, got it?" He said, cold sweat rolling out of his forehead.

Before Huo Yuhao could reply, he felt a sudden shift in the air through Skydream's eyes.

The dark sky turned jade green, and a jade green light streaked across the sky. With that flash of jade light, another soul beast appeared in front of the Skydream Iceworm.

Huo Yuhao couldn't help but feel somewhat stunned when the Ice Empress finally appeared in his perception.

One word, beautiful. That was enough to describe the Ice Empress's form.

The Ice Empress was roughly 1.5 meters long, which meant that it wasn't even as big as the Skydream Iceworm's previous body. Its looked a lot like a scorpion, except that it had scales similar to green jade with a bit of white ice, similar to diamond.

Staring at the Ice Empress with a passionate gaze in Skydream's eyes, he said, "You've come."

"FUCK OFF–! I'LL KILL YOU, YOU MAGGOT!!" Ice Empress was completely enraged, its beautiful gem-like eyes turned red, and was about to charge towards Skydream like a bull when she obviously noticed that his body was just a spiritual power construct.

"What is this?! Grrrr! Trash, despite talking so proudly a moment ago, you weren't brave enough to meet me face to face! What Million Year Old soul beast, all I'm seeing is a trashy coward." She coldly spat out, her eyes flickering with suspicion.

In response, Skydream merely smiled and raised a middle finger.

"Reeeeeee!!"

The remaining self-control in Ice Empress quickly broke down. Her tall, pointed tail suddenly lit up, and a spotlessly white beam of light instantly pierced through the Skydream Iceworm's body.

Huo Yuhao felt the Skydream's spiritual power surging violently, and even his vision became somewhat fuzzy.

"I don't know what plans you have, but since you've come all the way here, you have to die. After absorbing your energy, I'll become the strongest soul beast in the entire continent and finally go to her–!"

After piercing through the Skydream's body, the white ray didn't disappear. On the contrary, it started spreading through the Skydream's golden body, destroying it in a berserk manner.

However, Skydream didn't reveal any signs of pain. Somewhat regretfully, he said, "I'm sorry for saying all those things, Bing'er. I want to say I didn't mean it but...well, I'll be liar if I did. Just know that I only said those things because I want to help you."

Before Ice Empress could react, Skydream's immense spiritual power erupted in that moment! With pure and unrivalled spiritual power, he caused the space around Ice Empress to freeze.

"Trash, you're courting death! To use this much spiritual power and in such manner, aren't you scared of being unable to return to your original body? Moreover, this won't keep me for long!"

Determination flashed in Skydream's golden eyes as he replied, "Just one second is enough."

At this moment, a membrane made of a pale white light slid across the ground noiselessly. No matter how strong the Ice Emperor was, she hadn't noticed it.

On the other hand, the hidden Huo Yuhao felt his body shake violently. Clenching his teeth, he concentrated all his soul power to defend against the extreme cold that had abruptly arrived.

Thanks to his soul power control, he could use every amount of his soul power to the limit and fend off the extreme from entering his body and causing internal damage.

But, for all his soul power control, there was no denying the terrifying might of the Extreme North's cold. Especially with the Ice Empress in the vicinity, the cold was intensified to an unbearable level. Even his Absolute Domain couldn't help him much as the drain of soul power on using it would be immediate and it would leave him completely vulnerable to the cold.

Huo Yuhao could feel his skin freezing, his blood slowing down, and his very soul trembling in the face of such extreme temperatures. But he clenched his teeth and held on, his determination unwavering.

"No, no! This isn't possible. Skydream, how could trash like you be able to tie me up? What skill is this? Why can't I use my energy?"

While Huo Yuhao shivered under such intense cold, he could hear Ice Empress's unwilling, angered voice.

The golden light vanished, and Skydream appeared in front of her. With an indifferent smile on his face, he said, "That's my name. I've truly waited for this day for too long already. Don't worry, I'll give you an explanation, but not now. Once we've left this area, I'll have a good chat with you. Because right now, we should be on our way."

With that, he raised his right hand and pointed towards the Ice Empress. Amidst the flickering golden light, the Ice Empress's body vanished into thin air.

The pale white membrane reappeared, but the Ice Empress had already vanished. The membrane slowly fell through the ground, re-entering Huo Yuhao's body.

At this moment, Huo Yuhao's body remained as hard as steel. A layer of frost had covered the surface of his body but it cracked just as a golden light vanished into his forehead, and Skydream Iceworm reappeared in his spiritual sea.

"Yuhao, c'mon let's book it!" Skydream hurriedly said.

"Finally!" Huo Yuhao excitedly nodded and broke the ice covering his body before breaking through his hideout. With his skin protection back on, his soul power completely erupted and he flickered out of his spot.

It was finally time for his second martial soul to be complete!

Was this still...part of the plan? Sensing no reply from Ice Empress yet, Huo Yuhao tried talking to Skydream.

"Brother–"

But he was cut off with a hand before him, he turned to see Ancestor, an air of seriousness emitting from his body.

"No. Let him cook." He said, revealing his Sharingan, narrowed down.

'Eh?' Huo Yuhao blinked, utterly confused.

Suddenly, the entire sky turned jade-green.

"Reeeeee!!"
