Douluo Dalu 2: Heavenly Eyed Douluo

Huo Yuhao's destiny was to become the second legendary figure in the history of Soul Land; as the Ice Spirit Douluo, Founder of Spirit Pagoda, one who created a new era of soul master, the one who revived Tang Sect, and the God King of Emotions. That was what he meant to be. Only, in this story, it was different. His eyes witnessed helplessness, despair, tragedy, and most of all...pain. "This world, shall know pain..." A pair of scarlet eyes with strange pupils suddenly glowed. Look at world, for the Heavenly Eyed Douluo has descended. .... *I do not own Douluo Dalu, it's owned by Tang Jia San and I'm making this to fulfil my fantasy of Huo Yuhao having Sharingan. *P.S. The early chapters have some text copy-pasted from the original novel for a bit of wiki for newcomers of the Continent's situation, Soul Master and Soul Beast lore, etc. So to make up for it, I'm making the chapters longer than I usually do for my other stories. Chapter 14: Let's Dance

"Huuu...." Huo Yuhao let out a deep breath, wisps of blue soul power rose up from his body like flames, but unlike uncontrollable real fire, his soul power was like a calm and controlled stream of water as it converged in the piece of leaf on his forehead.

He sat on his bed, cultivating all night on the beginning stages of the Mysterious Heaven Technique and learning to control his soul power more efficiently. One of the basic lessons that the Ancestor taught him was that above all else, having a solid foundation and perfect control of one's energy is more important than learning any jutsus.

'Ancestor said that I should finish the Tree Climbing exercise before executing any jutsus except Genjutsu. Genjutsu mostly uses spiritual power than soul power so I'm pretty sure I can easily use E to C rank Genjutsus, possibly even B but sadly I don't have a 'partner' to try my skills out.'

The room was silent, save for the annoying cricket sounds and the rhythmic sound of his breathing.

As the rising sun's light shone on his face Huo Yuhao snapped his eyes opened and went standing in front of the window, his eyes shone with a purple sheen as he gazed at the rising sun.

The Purple Demon Eyes technique is extremely suitable for him, to the point that in just two days of practising it he managed to reach the second level – Detailed; improving his vision and perception several folds, and that's only in his base normal eyes. The secret technique has four levels: Survey, Detailed, Mustard Seed, Boundless.

To compare, both Bei Bei and Tang Ya only reached this level after 2 years of practising it every single day. If they saw his current progress with the Purple Demon Eyes, they would've been stunned speechless.

It wasn't like other secret techniques after all, like for the Ghost Shadow Perplexing Tracks you can instantly master the moves if you have the right physical capabilities. But for the Purple Demon Eyes, it was like cultivating but solely on the user's eyes, one needed a accumulated amount of purple Qi from the sun to progress to the next level.

It can only mean that Huo Yuhao's eyes lets him easily absorb more of the purple Qi cloud that appears at dawn. Moreover, he could tell that if he does this for about half a year or so he could definitely advance to the next level of Purple Demon Eyes!

That wasn't all. After both his teacher and senior brother showed him the other Tang Sect's secret techniques, he reached the same level of mastery as them.

His Sharingan was just too cheating.

"I wonder if I can copy a soul skill..." He thought out loud before shaking his head. If he could, that was too absurd and unbelievable to think about right now.

After getting a shower and changing into casual clothes, a white tank-top and black shorts, Huo Yuhao headed towards the school cafeteria to get breakfast.

"Man," Huo Yuhao grumbled as he looked down at his breakfast, stir-fried vegetables and white rice, while standing in the middle of the dining hall. "even till now I still can't understand why this place doesn't have any tables or chairs to sit down, and won't allow us to take the food out to eat back at pur dorm. This is a school cafeteria, right?"

"The staff and teachers say that they made it like this to instill discipline onto students, junior brother." Unbeknownst to him, Bei Bei had arrived at Huo Yuhao's side.

"Good morning, senior brother." Huo Yuhao greeted him with a smile. "Wait, seriously? This is a school and not the army. Besides, can't they just do that during classes?"

"Eh, no one really thought much about it." Bei Bei shrugged and asked. "Judging by your lack of surprise, you already knew that I was coming up behind you?"

"Look down at my feet." Huo Yuhao simply explained.

Bei Bei raised his other eyebrow and followed his junior brother's words, and lo and behold, his eyes widened at the sight of the white soul ring around his feet.

It looked so inconspicuous and released little to no soul power that he hadn't noticed it.

"How–but your eyes?"

Huo Yuhao blinked, his eyes instantly changed to Sharingan. His eyes' golden pupils lazily spun around and Bei Bei saw his junior brother's eyes changing back to normal with a blink, Huo Yuhao did this several more times while his white soul ring remained around his feet.

"...Explain."

"It's an illusion, senior brother. Remember when you and teacher said that I can use the Purple Demon Eyes to send out spiritual attacks? Well, I figured that since it can do that why can't I just create illusions using it? I just cast it to anyone who looks or glances at my direction so they won't notice my martial soul and my soul ring." Huo Yuhao replied, lying through his teeth. Although he was grateful for him and Tang Ya for giving him this chance in life, he had only gotten to know them for like two days after all. His secret techniques weren't just his, it belongs to the Ancestor. So unless the Ancestor says so or he feels like keeping it a secret wouldn't matter anymore, the Shinobi secret jutsus will be kept a secret for now.

"We knew the Purple Demon Eyes was suitable for you, but we didn't think the compatibility would be that high! Junior brother, you're truly a hidden gem we found by fate." Bei Bei didn't have a reason to doubt him, especially with how monstrous his comprehensive capabilities are, so his face lit up in amazement at his junior brother's genius once more.

"Hehe, it's not such a big deal senior brother." Huo Yuhao replied, flustered, he was embarrassed by the compliment he received. Compared to the Genjutsus his Ancestor taught him, this was just mere child's play.

"When did you cast this?"

"Oh when I used my soul skill, about the time I got out of my dorm room. I don't need to make eye contact with anyone as long as they enter my Spiritual Detection range. This is my first time using this illusion skill so it might not be good enough to fool the very perceptive people yet, especially the senior students and teachers, so I want to keep practicing it. Please keep it a secret."

Bei Bei let out a sigh. "Haa. I admire your diligence junior brother, but cultivating and training so much would be detrimental to your mental health. Here, as a reward you can have anything you want for breakfast. You can even order from the expensive window."

Huo Yuhao grinned. "Alright, don't regret this. Hey aunty, can I get that, that, and that? Oh! As well as that 1,000 year Grilled Dark Robin Wing?"

Bei Bei twitched.

.....

"Wooo. I never felt so full and satisfied in my entire life." Huo Yuhao groaned, patting his stomach as he headed back to his dorm room. Just eating meals at that place made him feel like he was in paradise.

What's more, whatever those meals he ate at the luxurious window meal had somehow strengthened his body and slightly increased his soul power. It was as if the food had some kind of special nourishing effect on him.

'Yup. Going to Shrek Academy is already worth it. Teacher and senior brother said that there's a summer exam after every school year to test if we're worthy to stay in Shrek Academy.' Huo Yuhao's expression turned serious, more serious than previous expressions. This was how beneficial and delicious those meals were. 'Game. On. I'll show them what a Shinobi is.'

"Hm?" He came to a halt, he was surprised to discover that the door to his room was open. After he ate those expensive meals, he unconsciously turned off his Sharingan and hadn't seen what happened to his room.

"A burglar? No wait. Is it my roommate? I was wondering when that guy was coming."

At that moment, a youth walked out of the room. The youth had a delicate appearance, as well as fair skin. His large eyes were very unusual; they were actually a faint pinkish-blue. His settled short hair was also the same colour. If he and Huo Yuhao were to be compared in terms of looks, the former would be an idol type while the other was more of a handsome type.

Huo Yuhao frowned. He didn't know why, this was the first time he met the guy, but he already didn't like him.

'Its his...energy? Vibe? What's going on here?'

Though confused, Huo Yuhao would think about it later on. No matter what he thinks about him, they would be roommates for at least a year so he had to be what his mother raised him to be. A gentleman.

"Hi, so you're my roommate? My name is Huo Yuhao, nice to meet you." He said with a small smile on his face.

The youth put on a snobbish expression as he stared at him. "Step aside."

'Okay. Now, I understand why I don't like him.' Though a bit miffed, Huo Yuhao reluctantly stepped to the side.

The youth snorted and walked past him, then stopped after taking a few steps out of the room. He turned around to look at Huo Yuhao as he said with a demanding tone of voice, "You're my roommate? Alright. Since you've cleaned this room up so well, I'll allow you to live with me for now. But I have a few rules that you must remember: One, you're not allowed to randomly bring other people back to this room."

"Two, you're not allowed to bare your disgusting naked body in this room. Three, you're not allowed to snore at night. Four, you're not allowed to bother me. Five, you're in charge of the cleanliness of this room in the future, but you can't touch my bed. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

A popping vein appeared on the right side of Huo Yuhao's forehead as he clenched his fists. Who did this guy think he was, treating him with such disrespect? "And why would I listen to your bullshit?"

The youth snorted coldly. "If you don't listen to me, I'll simply throw you out. If you don't believe me, you're welcome to try."

'....Yup. It's official. I really hate this guy.' This sissy act reminded him of that wretched noble family. Huo Yuhao's eyes flashed with a cold glint as he said, "You want a fight? Alright. Keep moving, we'll take this outside."

Seeing the determination in Huo Yuhao's eyes, the youth let out a laugh. His smirk at him was full of disdain and contempt.

"I don't think I caught your name?"

Huo Yuhao coldly glared at him. "Before asking someone else's name, shouldn't you tell me your name first?"

"I'm Wang Dong."

"I'm your daddy, Huo Yuhao."

Wang Dong tripped on himself when he heard Huo Yuhao's response, clearly caught off guard by the unexpected reply. He quickly regained his composure and shot Huo Yuhao a venomous glare. "What did you just say?"

Huo Yuhao smirked, his eyes filled with mischief. "I said, I'm your daddy. Got a problem with that?"

Wang Dong's face turned red with anger. "You're asking for a beating!" he shouted, lunging towards Huo Yuhao with clenched fists.

But before Wang Dong could even make contact, Huo Yuhao casually sidestepped, causing Wang Dong to stumble forward and crash into the wall. Huo Yuhao stood there, his arms crossed, watching as Wang Dong struggled to free himself.

"You wanna dance with me and that's all you've got?" Huo Yuhao taunted. "I expected more from someone who thinks he can throw me out."

Wang Dong gritted his teeth in frustration, his pride wounded. He pushed himself off the wall and charged at Huo Yuhao again, this time with a more determined look in his eyes.

But once again, Huo Yuhao easily dodged his attacks, dancing around the room while Wang Dong flailed about, unable to land a single hit.

"I must say, your fighting skills are quite impressive," Huo Yuhao commented, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "But it seems you're lacking in technique."

Wang Dong growled in frustration. "Shut up!" he shouted, launching himself once more at Huo Yuhao. Intense soul power undulations flowed out of his body, augmenting his strength and power. But it seems like he was smart enough to not release his martial soul in a tight space.

This time, Huo Yuhao's expression turned serious. He was taking this more seriously now as his sensing the amount of soul power Wang Dong was releasing. It was at the level of a Soul Grandmaster!

'Looks like I have to get a little serious.' Soul power circulated in his body, his eyes changed into Sharingan and the world around him turned slower. He narrowed his eyes.

He didn't need to use his soul skills, the Sharingan was all he needed.

"Let's dance." Huo Yuhao muttered, a feral grin split across his face.

The moment Wang Dong entered his range, he took a large stride, landing a powerful elbow strike to his chest, making him gasp, he then swiftly grabbed Wang Dong's right wrist.

"I told you before, didn't I? I'm your daddy," Huo Yuhao said, his voice calm but filled with a hint of threat. "And dads have to discipline their children when they misbehave."

With a sudden burst of strength, Huo Yuhao twisted Wang Dong's arm and thew him out of the window of their room. He had only done this because they were on the first floor of the dorm so it wasn't a dangerous fall. Huo Yuhao then walked up to the window and leaned out, watching as Wang Dong landed on the ground with a thud.

"W-What the hell?!" Wang Dong shouted, clearly shocked and angry.

Huo Yuhao smirked. "Consider that a lesson in respect. From now on, you better treat me with the respect I deserve, or else things will only get worse for you. Got it?"

Wang Dong clenched his fists, his face turning red with anger. "You...I call for a rematch! I wasn't ready at the time."

Huo Yuhao smirked. "Sure." He then took out a small hazel nut he got from the cafeteria, one of the few free snacks available in this greedy school. "I'll flip this nut in the sky and the moment it lands on the ground, we fight. Deal?"

Wang Dong's solemnly nodded.

Huo Yuhao continued to smirk as he held out the nut in his hand and proceeded to flip it into the air. As it descended back down to the ground, Wang Dong immediately released his martial soul–

"Ah, ah, ah." He froze, a familiar voice sounded in his left ear and he turned to see another Huo Yuhao standing beside him, despite him standing right in front of him in their room!

That wasn't all, he could feel a sharp edge pointed at his throat. A quick glance confirmed it to be a kunai.

"You–how?! You're standing right in front of me still!"

"Hmph." Huo Yuhao cockily replied. "Just take a look back and you'll understand."

Wang Dong turned back to the Huo Yuhao standing in the room and saw that he was distorting, like some kind of mirage. He stood there, arms crossed and a mischievous smile on his face.

"Heh, that's just a clone," The Huo Yuhao standing beside him explained, his Sharingan spinning. "One of the techniques I learned in my training. It's basically an afterimage that has no substance and thus incapable of damaging opponents. But it's enough for distracting enemies. Pretty cool, right?"

A total lie. Though such a technique or ninjutsu is real, one of the general and basic ninjutsus an academy student Shinobi had to learn to graduate, the aptly named Clone Technique. What Huo Yuhao had done however, was casting a simple and subtle Genjutsu on Wang Dong into thinking that he was still in their room and planning on fighting him head-on.

Pfft. What kind of Shinobi fights fair? If this was a spar, Huo Yuhao would have given them the courtesy to do so. However in the case of Wang Dong, he was looking for a fight.

Wang Dong's face turned pale as he realized the gravity of the situation. He was completely outmatched by Huo Yuhao's skills, both in combat and strategic thinking.

"Fine," Wang Dong muttered through clenched teeth. "I'll give you the respect you want. But don't think this is over. I'll get stronger, and one day, I'll defeat you."

Huo Yuhao chuckled, pulling the kunai away and stepping back. "Sure thing, Wang Dong. I welcome the challenge. But for now, let's try to get along, shall we? We are roommates after all."

Without waiting for a response, Huo Yuhao dispelled the Genjutsu and immediately ran away from the fuming Wang Dong. He walked back into the entrance of the dorm, leaving Wang Dong standing outside, seething with anger.

As he neared the entrance, Huo Yuhao couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. Dealing with Wang Dong was definitely not how he envisioned his first day at Shrek Academy, but he was determined to make the best of it. He knew that challenges like this were just a part of his journey to become a powerful shinobi.

"....Hey." Suddenly, he felt an old wrinkled hand grabbing his wrist. Stunned, Huo Yuhao looked down to see the old man that constantly guarded the dorm entrance. "Where are you going? You're the one who sent that boy flying out of the window, right? Don't think about lying your way, I saw everything. You're gonna have to pay for that."

Huo Yuhao started sweating.

'....It's not even my first day.'
