126 Chapter 123: Finding the 3rd Division

"Uncle Su, are you sure that this is the place where the 3rd division is held at?" Dai Yueheng asked aloud, crouching stealthily on a tiled rooftop. With narrowed eyes, he scrutinized the seemingly desolate building.

The shadows from behind him twisted and converged together, revealing a man wearing dark clothing and featureless white mask. He was Su Qian, Dai Yueheng's personal servant and bodyguard, though he doesn't show it, but he is also a Soul Sage!

Not many know, but Su Qian was one of the first subordinates of Dai Hao, the White Tiger Duke. After many years of fighting together and showing great loyalty and friendship, he became blood brothers with the duke; vowing to help out his only family, which led to him becoming an uncle figure and bodyguard to the eldest son.

Su Qian grimly nodded. "Aye, I managed to infiltrate the surface layer of the building and found a group of Soul Ancestors chatting about some "mysterious prisoners" that they were assigned to keep guard until further notice. For the last few days, there has been no mysterious people coming into the city except for the 3rd division, how could it not be them?"

Dai Yueheng clenched his hands. "Uncle Su, just how hard is the security? Can you handle it on your own?"

"..." Su Qian was silent for a moment before letting out a sigh, "Honestly young master, even with my Shadow Devil, getting through them is a bit difficult. And considering we're not that far from the academy, reinforcement wouldn't take long."

Dai Yueheng grumbled, inwardly trying to come up with a plan. "What's their approximate level of strength?"

"Dozens of Soul Ancestors and I have sensed about a couple of Soul Kings, but considering the strength of the 3rd division, there might possibly even a Soul Emperor guarding them." Su Qian replied.

Dai Yueheng narrowed his eyes, frustration flickering across his eyes. "Troublesome! Haa... Huabin, Huabin, why did you cause so much mess for your big brother to clean up? I'm gonna beat your ass after this." he muttered under his breath, frustration evident in his tone.

He shook his head and turned towards Su Qian. "Uncle Su, do you have any ideas?"

"Are we not going to wait for reinforcement from the family? Even for you, young master, handling this many enemies and in broad daylight..." Su Qian replied, looking at his ward in surprise. Going in now was too reckless!

Dai Yueheng shook his head helplessly. "It would take them four days to arrive here, and that's not even including two days of sending a message to mother, explaining why I need reinforcement and how this happened. By the time help arrives, 3rd division might already spilled the beans and Huabin would be expelled."

He clenched his fists, "And with all the teachers and some of the elders overlooking the exam for the Seven Shrek Monsters Succession right now, this is the only perfect time for us to get to the 3rd division."

Su Qian lowered his head, pondering on a plan of action.

He paused, considering his options carefully. "... What is needed right now is cutting off their methods of calling for help. Fortunately I have a rank 7 soul tool, Hundred Golden Seal Barrier, that would last for an hour; it will seal off a 30 diameter area, preventing any communication signals, emergency flares and people from entering or leaving. If we can deploy it strategically, we can buy ourselves some time to neutralize the guards and rescue our comrades. Moreover, it can effortlessly block the attacks of a normal Soul Emperor."

Dai Yueheng nodded, his gaze steely. "Do what you must, Uncle Su. We cannot afford any missteps. Once you've set up the barrier, we'll move in swiftly and decisively."

Su Qian nodded in agreement, his mind already racing with plans to execute their daring rescue mission.

Together, Dai Yueheng and Su Qian descended from the rooftop, their determination steeling their resolve as they prepared to confront the formidable security of the 3rd division and rescue their comrades from captivity. Or, in the worse case scenario, silence them.

'For their sake, they better not spilled anything and are in healthy condition.' Dai Yueheng thought as he waited for Su Qian to start the soul tool.

He turned his head towards the direction of the academy, 'Huabin, I wonder how you're doing at your end? Have you become a Seven Shrek Monster? Or, did you also fail in achieving that as well?'

A cruel smile tugged at the corner of Dai Yueheng's lips.

'Thinking about stealing the status of heir from me, just because you have affinity with that Zhu girl, know your place, brat.'

Meanwhile, Su Qian swiftly activated the Hundred Golden Seal Barrier, carefully positioning it to encompass the target area without drawing attention. As the barrier hummed to life, a shimmering golden aura enveloped the surroundings, effectively cutting off all means of communication and escape for their adversaries.

With the barrier in place, Dai Yueheng and Su Qian exchanged a knowing glance, silently reaffirming their resolve.

Wearing completely black clothing and black mask that covered his entire lower face, Dai Yueheng took large strides towards the heavily guarded building with Su Qian silently following him.

At the Soul Dueling Arena

"HAAAAA!" Wu Feng let out a war cry, a wave of flames spew out of her mouth and pushed back the approaching students.

By her side, Xiao Xiao blew away a couple of students with a wind jutsu and glanced back. She frowned and grabbed Wu Feng, she then used Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track to dodge a large tiger claw.

The large Netherworld White Tiger let out a disgruntled snarl as its claws scraped against the ground, narrowly missing Wu Feng and Xiao Xiao.

"Dammit! Sorry, Xiao Xiao, Wu Feng. The bastard slipped past me," Wang Dong'er appeared next to them, slight cuts appeared all over her uniform.

Xiao Xiao shook her head, "No, it's okay. Keeping that beast occupied on your own was unreasonable."

Wu Feng clicked her tongue, kicking away a student that jumped on them. "We would've already be with Yuhao and sister Tian, if it weren't for these distractions."

Xiao Xiao nodded, her eyes glaring at the other students who looked at them with determined looks. "Let's focus on getting to Yuhao and the rest first as soon as possible before our soul power runs out."

"Well, it isn't far." Wang Dong'er said, looking at the area filled with ice and a crystal throne in the middle of it, with Huo Yuhao and Ning Tian casually sitting on it.

Wu Feng frowned. "Wang Dong, why is Huo Yuhao not doing anything? I'm pretty sure he can instakill almost everyone in here."

Wang Dong'er and Xiao Xiao looked at each other, and the former replied. "Uh, well, it's a pretty long story to tell you. But he wants to prolong the exam as long as he can, trust us, it's very important."

Wu Feng narrowed her eyes.

Just as she was about to say something, the Netherworld White Tiger intervened again, roaring loudly and launching itself towards them with a ferocious swipe of its claws. Following behind it were several students wielding their martial souls, their eyes filled with determination as they aimed to take down Wu Feng, Xiao Xiao, and Wang Dong'er.

Wang Dong'er groaned. "Everyone's a busybody." she then grabbed both girls and flew straight towards Huo Yuhao.

"RAAAAAUUGH!" The Netherworld White Tiger let out another deafening roar as it continued its relentless pursuit, its massive form barreling through the air with alarming speed. White and black soul power swirled around it, enhancing its already formidable strength as it closed in on Wu Feng, Xiao Xiao, and Wang Dong'er.

With a determined expression, Wu Feng unleashed another barrage of flames, aiming to halt the advance of their pursuers. Xiao Xiao, using her martial soul, creating a protective barrier around them, deflecting the attacks of the students.

Just as they were close to their destination.

"Oh no!"

The Netherworld White Tiger leaped forward with astonishing speed, its massive claws poised to strike at Wu Feng, Xiao Xiao, and Wang Dong'er.

Wang Dong'er cursed, her wings gleamed as her first soul ring lit up. "Do you think I'm afraid of you?!"

Just as they were about to clashed once more, a pair of bunny ears was seen accompanied by a pair of long legs and shimmering soul rings.

"Don't bully my juniors!" Jiang Nannan, in a flash of purple light, appeared before them. With a swift movement, she intercepted the Netherworld White Tiger's attack with a firm kick to the head, her third soul ring lit up brilliantly.

"Gravity Control"

The Netherworld White Tiger was momentarily stunned as Jiang Nannan's gravity control pinned it to the ground, rendering it unable to move. With a fierce determination in her eyes, Jiang Nannan pressed forward, her powerful kicks and strikes landing with precision on the tiger's vulnerable spots.

As Wu Feng, Xiao Xiao, and Wang Dong'er watched in awe, a familiar voice snapped them out of their daze.

"What are you all doing? Get back to Yuhao and recuperate yourselves," Tang Ya commanded as she appeared beside them, she cooly glanced at them and smiled. "let your seniors handle this."

She waved her hand and with a eerie dark aura emanated from her body, numerous thick dark-blue vines sprouted from the ground and started bounding the Netherworld White Tiger and the other students.

"But teacher Ya-!"

"Don't worry junior Wang, Yuhao already told us what to do. We're going to hold them back as much as possible." Bei Bei said, as he and Xu Sanshi approached, their auras imposing.

'Wait, what about the other senior students? Who's going to...' Wang Dong'er turned her head and found her answer.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

"C'mon! Is that best of you fuckers can do?! I thought the Martial Soul Department is superior to the Soul Tool Department?" He Caitou bellowed as he unleashed a barrage of soul cannon blasts, sending waves of destructive energy crashing towards their opponents.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Every single shot of his didn't miss, not only because of his expert control but also Huo Yuhao's Spiritual Detection.

He Caitou noticed Wang Dong'er's look and gave a thumbs up, "I've got this covered, juniors!" he called out, a fierce determination burning in his eyes as he continued his onslaught against the approaching enemies.

Wang Dong'er, Xiao Xiao and Wu Feng shared a look and nodded. They cupped their hands and said, "Thank you, seniors!" they then headed towards Huo Yuhao.

In an instant, they all felt the freezing cold with Wang Dong'er faring better out of them due to her connection to Huo Yuhao. Wu Feng immediately lit herself into flames to warm themselves.

Fortunately, the freezing temperature quickly disappeared as the land of ice melted away, with only the crystal-ice throne remained.

"Hey girls," Huo Yuhao greeted with a warm smile as he saw Wu Feng, Xiao Xiao, and Wang Dong'er approaching. "You made it."

Wu Feng nodded, her expression serious. "We encountered some trouble along the way, but we managed to push through, your majesty."

"Pfft-"

Huo Yuhao's expression darkened, while Ning Tian, Xiao Xiao and Wu Feng snickered to the side.

Huo Yuhao let out a sigh and stood up, melting away his ice throne. "You just had to ruin it for me," he grumbled, glaring at Wang Dong'er.

She shrugged. "Well, you should've move around to help us."

"... You know why I can't right now."

"I'm joking, I'm joking." Wang Dong'er stuck her tongue out giggling.

Huo Yuhao shook his head, "What am I going to do with you?" his expression then turned serious. "But on a serious note, start recuperating as much of your energy as you can. It's almost time to finish this. Wang Dong, I especially need you to be at your best."

Wang Dong'er eyes widened. "Wait, are we actually going to...!?"

He smiled and nodded.

It was time to finally test out their martial soul fusion.
