27 Chapter 27

Chapter 27 — Xue Qinghe (1)

Ning Chen froze completely with his complexion going sickly pale as he started to breath heavily.

His back was suddenly drenched with cold sweats as his hands trembled.

Ning Chen didn't knew why, but he was feeling very afraid.

He lost himself completely in fear and then lost his sense of time. When Ning Chen regained his sense, the gigantic eyes had already vanished.

It was like an illusion.

Ning Chen stared at distant horizon, his gaze seemingly staring outside the world.

Those terrifying eyes seemed to belonged to a colossal titan or mighty god that didn't clearly originated from this world.

Ning Chen felt it came there—outside the world.

The desire to urgently grow stronger lit up inside his heart again. He had once also felt this desire in the past.

It was when he awakened his martial spirit.

This strange desire felt like it came from the depths of his soul, urging to him to explore the world to grow stronger and not be a frog in a well.

It warned him about the future.

Ning Chen, however, felt that he shouldn't be controlled by this desire.

He was the one who will reign over himself and wanted to grow at his own pace.

Striving to grow stronger at his own pace would provide more results since being too hasty is like a poison.

Ning Chen decided to place the mysterious gigantic eyes at the back of his head for now since he didn't even know anything about it.

However, he won't forget about the sense of danger it gave him and would also investigate about it once he learned more.

Ning Chen planned on enjoying his current peaceful life for now.

....

"Big bro, it feels so good..." Ning Rongrong let out a muffled voice.

She was current on her bed with her white and tender back facing Ning Chen.

"Is it? Then that's good," Ning Chen said while sweating slightly.

He was behind Ning Rongrong with his hands moving in various place as he displayed his massaging skills to it's best.

Ning Chen had been able to learn many amazing massage techniques from Yu Qian's book collections.

It's purpose was to relieve the body and mind from fatigue and stimulates the muscles growth.

It was perfect for treating people who had just finished doing some intense physical training.

Ning Chen was also doing this on Ning Rongrong because he was currently training his sister to become stronger.

It could also be considered as a bonding time between them.

Ning Chen wanted to make his sister have the ability to protect herself by teaching her close-combat techniques and training her body.

Ning Rongrong was always relying on the others to protect her without moving from her place while providing buffs.

If her teammates failed to protect her, she wouldn't have any means of protecting herself because her physical strength was poor and no fighting techniques.

It was expected for being a support-type spirit master, but Ning Chen wanted his sister to be safe from any kinds of harms.

"Alright, all finished! Let's continue to train tomorrow!" Ning Chen said as he stood up.

Ning Rongrong's face was reddish after the session because of her blood flow increasing significantly.

She looked at Ning Chen and nodded, "Thanks, big bro."

"No problem. I haven't been with your side for many years after all," Ning Chen said with an apologetic smile and started to pat her head.

Ning Rongrong felt very comfortable while being patted on her head and then a question crossed her mind.

"Have you already found yourself a lover, big bro?" Ning Rongrong asked curiously.

She didn't knew much about Ning Chen and wondered if he already found a special person.

Ning Chen was surprised hearing this question and a bitter smile flashed on his face.

"No, I don't have one. I'm also gonna leave now since I will study with Grandpa Chen Xing now.

Ning Rongrong was somehow glad to hear her brother's response, but was curious on why he made a bitter smile earlier.

"Okay, take care and see you soon!" She said while waving her hand.

Ning Chen nodded and before leaving his sister's room, he sighed deeply and mumbled to himself.

"I don't want to fall in love with someone again."

Ning Chen was afraid of experiencing the pain of getting rejected again.

It was unlike the pain of having physical injuries that would heal eventually.

It was something that couldn't be healed by time. It was a permanent scar on his heart.

....

A week later....

Chen Xing didn't had the ability to teach Ning Chen for a long time since he had other important matters to attend everyday.

There were many problems involving the clan that needed him after all.

It was also part of the reason he made Ning Chen study at the Sword Dojo.

Chen Xing had taught Ning Chen about the sword law for a hour everyday. He couldn't cover everything, but it was still plentiful.

Ning Chen learned and understood many things such as that although the sword art and sword law were seperate branch, the two were tied closely together and complemented each others.

He also came to a realization that he would only understand it's true potential after getting the sword intent himself.

The things he learned from the others were only the surface since everyone is different from each others.

And despite the creation and cultivation of the intent seed being fairly easy, making it bloom into a sword intent was daunting for the majority.

It was also the reason behind Ning Chen's bottleneck.

He needed to understand the world deeper with his boundless heart and experience an intense stimulation to advance.

The next morning, Ning Chen managed to complete his morning training along with his sister.

He looked upward and saw the sky was looking specially beautiful today.

A maid then approached him and said that Ning Fengzhi wanted to meet with him.

Ning Chen agreed and said to the maid that he would go to his father later after washing away his sweats and changing into a new pair of clean clothes.

After cleaning himself, Ning Chen went toward his father's office room.

He soon arrived and entered inside the room, instantly noticing an unfamiliar young boy who looked slightly like a girl.

The boy was also smaller than Ning Chen in terms of height and appeared to be very slender.

He was good-looking and had a long black hair which was tied back in a neat tail with a blue cloth. He exudes an aura of extraordinary charisma, giving off a fresh and cool feeling.

This charisma was something Ning Chen didn't have currently.

Ning Fengzhi saw Ning Chen glancing curiously at the young boy and smiled.

"Ning Chen, meet my student, Xue Qinghe. He's been my apprentice for a long time now and is just one year older than you."

Xue Qinghe was quite surprised seeing Ning Chen. Despite being older, Ning Chen was much taller than him.

Still, he bowed toward Ning Chen lightly and introduced himself, "I'm Xue Qinghe, the crown prince of Heaven Dou Empire. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ning Chen."

"Likewise," Ning Chen also greeted Xue Qinghe, but he didn't bowed despite being Infront of the crown prince.

He decided that he would only bow to people worthy of his respect and his loved ones.

Xue Qinghe lips curled upward. He found Ning Chen's brusque manner to be refreshing.

Ning Chen was also inwardly flabbergasted as he didn't expect his father to have a student who was also a crown prince.

"Father, why did you want me to come here?" Ning Chen asked.

"I'm worried about you not having a friend, so I thought of introducing Xue Qinghe to you. You two are slightly similar in a way, so you two might become a good friends," Ning Fengzhi responded.

Ning Fengzhi was indeed worried about Ning Chen as he spent most of his time with his sister and no other else apart from them.

Ning Chen felt happy hearing that, but in truth, he didn't minded having no friends.

But he couldn't refuse his father's kindness and decided to make things work out.

"I'll try, Father," Ning Chen said with a bright smile.

"Good! I'll take my leave now since I have some other business to take care. I hope you guys get along," Ning Fengzhi said and then left his office, leaving the two alone.

Ning Chen and Xue Qinghe looked at each other quietly.

It was silent for a moment, until Ning Chen decided to speak.

"Well, before we start having our conversation, we need to first drop all honorifics and stop being formal with each other."

It was after all taxing to keep smiling all day and speaking formally for each sentence.

"Yeah, you're right. It's also tiresome," Xue Qinghe lightly laughed.

Ning Chen felt the boy in front of him looked weirdly feminine in his eyes and he didn't knew why.

This beautiful day thus mark the first meeting between the future 'Legendary Angel Warrior' and the strongest 'Dragon Swordsman' shrouded in mystery.

....

I'm thinking of adding a thing called Beast Intent because of the Weapon Intent. If there was only weapon intent, then tool spirits would have greater advantage. But still not decided.

Also, seeing the name of my new class shook me greatly. Benevolence? I'm afraid I don't have that thing.

Question: What was Ning Rongrong's age at the start of the original story? I don't exactly remember.

(Tell me the errors or confusing parts I made. I can't see it all.)
