Chapter 29 — Elemental Stars

The true earth essence baptized my countless cells, causing them to be reborn as a suitable vessel for earth.
As the attunement finished, I felt my body showing subtle improvements over areas related to earth.
The overall balance of my body felt more stable and heavy.
Next, the true earth essence started to drill into my spleen.
As the earth star was slowly created, I felt my comprehension of earth becoming profound.
Earth is the substance of life—acting as a nurturer, stabilizer, balancer, and carrier of everything about life.
An immovable foundation that only knows stability and shows unshakable gravity.
This idea led me to think that earth can also be the grave of death.
Earth can turn into destructive earthquakes, crashing landslides, suffocating quicksands, and merciless meteors.
It has two polar sides.
Like water.
I was enlightened about the earth
As a result, I knew the transformation of the spleen was done.
The major and minor organs were slightly nourished, improving my overall bodily functions and them having improved resistance to internal injuries.
I was now able to see a yellowish veil light protecting the whole spleen.
And as the small earth star settled within the spleen, it started to hold an intricate influence over my body.
There was now a new subtle body phenomena—wherein each and every bodily movements were accompanied by immovable heaviness.
Aside from that, the earth star also transformed the spleen to help the heart and marrow to process and store only the best perfect quality of compressed and dense purple blood. If it worked like this, it would also help to process and store only the best perfect quality of soul blood. (Purple Blood is the normal blood).
The most important change was the increased earth affinity.
It felt like the true earth essence from the ground was always making my body stable.
The true earth essence was constantly providing stability to my overall bodily condition.
It also helped to always stabilize my center of balance.
And maybe because of my previous experience with water, it was easier to sense those subtle changes.
It took me half a day to form the yellow earth star.
The earth star took longer than the water star because it lacked the assistance from the necklace.
After the successful formation of the earth star, I determinedly took a leave from the academy.
I want to focus on the formation of elemental stars.
After the earth star, I decided to form the wind star.
The wind was ever present.
There was no need to find a suitable place to absorb it.
However…
"Why won't the cold force absorb the wind…?"
I deeply pondered after trying to communicate with the cold force for an hour now.

I furrowed my brows to contemplate about the formation of elemental stars that always exist in my organs.

I remembered the five elements that corresponded to the five vital organs of the body.
The Five Elemental Phases Cycle.
Wood feeds Fire, Fire produces Earth, Earth bears Metal, Metal collects Water, Water nourishes Wood.
Also known as Generative Interactive Cycle.
Conversely, there was also the Destructive Interaction Cycle.
Wood depletes Earth, Earth obstructs Water, Water extinguishes Fire, Fire melts Metal, Metal chops Wood.
The Five Elemental Phases Cycles that strengthen and restrict each other.
And if they were correlated to the five vital organs—
"Water is Kidney, Earth is Spleen, Wood is Liver, Metal is Lungs, and Fire is Heart…"
My eyes widened upon realizing the elemental stars were based on the traditional five elements.
But I wonder why I form the unconventional five elements? And not the standardized four elements?
I tried to recall more teachings from my parents.
Since I was really a brat back then, I didn't like to study, so I didn't get to the acupuncture lessons.
Fortunately, I listened to the lessons about five elements.
"Ah, I remember my mother saying that elements like wind and thunder are secondary forces derived from the natural interaction between the five elements."
"It seems the cold force thought the five elements were far superior. Now that I know the elemental stars are based on the five elements, I should start on forming them."
I went to a forest outside the city to form the wood star.
The forest was full of thick trees and natural beauty.
I placed my hand on a tree—my elemental senses feeling the roots of the tree digging deeply into the earth, absorbing nutrients and moistures. Its countless roots were interlocking with roots from other nearby trees.
After the formation of two immature elemental stars, I was able to develop a strong elemental sense.
I then sat beside the tree, no longer bothering with the lotus position.
I realized from nature that meditation can happen naturally even if you lay on the ground or while walking.
That is nature.
A natural state of meditation. A state far better than deep meditation.
As the cold force started to absorb the true wood essence, I could feel the vast networks of roots gradually becoming clearer.
Those roots were similar to my vast network of blood vessels.
The true wood essence baptized my countless cells, causing them to be reborn as a suitable vessel for wood.
As the attunement finished, I clearly felt my body showing subtle improvements over areas related to wood.
The strong cellular activities further improved to become very tenacious and adaptive like wood.
The medicinal property of purple blood was also enhanced—the regeneration factor of the body increased as a result.
The true wood essence then started to drill into my liver.
As the wood star was slowly created, my comprehension of wood began.
Wood is the breath of life—It serves as sustenance by providing nutrients and breathable air.
It is a diligent vitality that seeks to tenaciously grow and expand because it needs to provide sustenance.
The diligence of wood made me think it can also be a siphon of death.
Abundant woods bring exhaustion to lands, cause terrible famines, degrade elements, and poisons if too much breathable air.
It has opposing sides.
Like water and earth.
I was enlightened about the wood.
As a result, I knew the transformation of the liver was done.
The other organs were slightly nourished again, enhancing my overall bodily functions and gaining improved resistance to internal injuries.
I was now able to see a greenish veil of light protecting the whole liver.
The small wood star transformed the liver to now undergo high speed breakdown of matters before supplying them into the blood channels to efficiently transport and absorb them without a waste.
The wood star also held an intricate influence over my body.
There was now a new subtle body phenomena—wherein the bodily movements carried a vigor to resist anything.
The most important change was still the increased wood affinity.
It felt like the true wood essence from the atmosphere was constantly replenishing my stamina slightly.
I speculated it would also help to replenish slightly of my soul blood faster.
It took me half a day to form the green wood star.
"The next stars are metal and fire."
And I know the perfect place to create them.

I would simply answer with—Fire.
Maybe it was the reason for the concept of elemental stars.
Metal was then next to it.
After arriving at the forge, I quickly sensed the hotness of fire and the hardness of metal.
As I sat inside my workstation, I gently grabbed the hammer I've used for years now.
I felt quite sentimental while gently caressing the smooth yet cold texture of the hammer.
That's why…
"It's time for you to be reborn."
I let the cold force absorb the true metal essence within the hammer. It also absorbed the true metal essence from the environment.
This hammer was previously given by Hu Yu.
It might seem cruel, but I was actually planning to use the essence of the hammer to make it reborn as Blood Sacrificed Hammer.
I didn't want to lose such precious essence given by Hu Yu, so I just decided to transport that essence.
This was possible by using the power of the metal star.

The countless cells were compressed and turned tougher.
The true metal essence then started to drill into my lungs.
And with a speed much faster than the other elements—A small black metal star formed within the center of my lungs.
A blackish veil of light now protected the whole lungs.
At the same time, I was able to further deepen my already high comprehension of metal.
Metal is the shield of life—acting as a tool for civilization, and a tool for defending.
But it can also be the blade of death.
Metal can turn into a tool for destruction, and a tool for attacking.
A tool that depends on whoever wields it, for it's either to protect, or to slaughter.
It is double-edged.
Like water, earth, and wood.
I was enlightened about metal.
"Haaaaa…!"
The breath I exhaled was compressed air that resembled a sharp arrow.
The metal star caused a transformation to the lungs. The air capacity increased as the lungs compressed the inhaled air to create more rooms. As a result, the compressed air brought more horsepower than normal air—bringing a surge of power and endurance!
Just like other elemental stars, the metal star also held an intricate influence over my body.
This was another body phenomena — wherein the transmission of electrical signals were being received and sent faster because the nervous system turned metallic and very conductive.
As a result, I felt my body reacting to my thoughts much faster than before. It felt light as if I casted away some weights.
"This should work perfectly with Steel Breathing…"
From the Steel Breathing Method, I've derived the hardening technique—Steel Hardening.
Steel Hardening was an advanced level of body control technique.
I was able to use it subconsciously in the past. No, I used it rather primitively by simply using brute force.
I was able to harden my fist by using Steel Breathing to excite and tense up the skin, muscles, and bones, but not the blood vessels, tendons, nerves, joints, and ligament.
The true power of hardening required the use of spiritual power.
It must also be a strong spiritual power that has reached a certain realm, as well as needing a precise control over the spiritual power.
And I'm already aware of my powerful spiritual power.
As for the control aspect, I practiced controlling the spiritual power by repeatedly hardening the parts of my fist one by one.
It was a painful training process since any mistakes would strain and break the parts I tried to harden.
However, spiritual power was really similar to muscles.
The mind and body were connected; so aren't they built the same?
I went with that logic.
The more I use spiritual power, the stronger and flexible it gets. And if you use it repeatedly on a certain task for a long time, spiritual power would gradually build muscle memory.
After practicing for hundreds of hours, I was now able to harden parts of my fist instinctively.
The spiritual power developed muscle memory, so I only need one thought to activate Steel Hardening.
However, I still encountered problems with Steel Hardening.
I found out that normal air wasn't enough to serve as adhesive matters to include the hairs, blood vessels, ligaments, joints, and tendons when hardening.
It was also impossible to harden the delicate nerves.
Yet compressed air and metallic nerves came to solve those problems!
And I quickly tried to use the Steel Hardening I've envisioned—
As I inhaled compressed air to fill the entirety of my enlarged lungs, I could distinctively feel my left fist hardening rigidly like true steel under the guide of my spiritual power. Even my skin transformed completely black.
The compressed air was mixed with true metal essence!
The result of my increased metal affinity.
And the compressed metal air wasn't adhesive matters, but coating matters that coated the entirety of my fist from the inside out—from the nerves, the blood vessels, the bones, the joints, the ligaments, the tendons, the flesh, the muscles, the skin, and the hairs!
The entirety of my left fist hand hardened into a true steel that was not only incredibly hard like a shield, but also very sharp like a blade.
"Amazing…."
I then tried punching my blackened fist against a thick slab of metal.
Swiiish!
Baaam!
It penetrated!
My blackened fist managed to pierce through the thick slab of metal.
The new Steel Hardening required tons of energy, but the true wood essence was replenishing my stamina. The fluidity of water also softened the rigidity of the blackened fist. As for my depleting spiritual power that hardened the fist, it was slowly refilled by true water essence.
"Only the fire star is left."
I opened the forging flames of a huge furnace to the max level.
As such, the furnace surged with scorching flames that rose to the ceiling.
The flames were hot.
However, I chose to embrace the scorching flames that reminded me about that hellish night.
The night my family died and defiled so tragically.
The night I saw my village being burned into ashes.
The night I lost everything about me.
"AHHHHHHH!"
I could feel my uncontrollable rage exploding out from the deepest depths of my heart.
It surged violently as if there was nothing that could impede it.
The heat of the flames intensified as if they were responding to my rage.
I quickly tore my shirt apart—the charred scar engraved on my chest—It burned with severe excruciating pain as if not wanting me to forget that night.
The true fire essence surged ragefully throughout my cells, incinerating them violently to let my body be reborn as the perfect vessel of fire.
As the attunement completed, I clearly felt my body showing improvements over areas related to fire.
My countless cells now exploded and brimmed with pulsating raging energy.
The true fire essence then started to surge frenziedly into my heart as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
As the fire star was slowly created, my comprehension of fire began.
Fire.
It was seen and experienced as something extremely dangerous that burns and destroys everything in contact.
The spark of death, bringer of rage and nothingness.
Yet it is also the vitality of life, bringer of joy and sparks of creation.
Fire acts to make growth, to flourish, to give warmth, to provide energy, and to give drive!
It has two sides.
Like water, earth, wood, and metal.
I was enlightened about fire.
The charred scar on my chest distorted into a dark blazing sun.
And within my heart—a red spark lit up, giving away a crimson color with the deepest and darkest shade. Its size soon toppled other stars, but the cold force quickly halted from absorbing to provide balance.
A fire star was born.
"Huuu… Huuu…"
The forging flames vanished.
I stood there with the blazing sun dimly glowing from my chest.
And there was a raging beat pulsating inside the chest.
My heart.
The fire star completed the transformation of the heart, but its effects were fused with the effects of fire body phenomena and increased fire affinity.
A chaotic vitality now pulsated from my heart as every drop of blood shimmered with intense crimson color. Those drops of blood brimmed with intense raging energy and power as they circulated across my veins, filling me with explosive strength and speed. The true fire essence was further adding fuel to the explosiveness.
The heart increased the quality of its output by a few times.
This also applied to my soul blood which would probably be enhanced to a new level.
Such chaotic energy and explosiveness would normally waste a lot, but the conservative water tried its best to conserve, the stable earth tried to stabilize, the sustaining wood gave fans to fire, and the hard metal tried to contain.
But the powerful fire wasn't something they could easily influence.
The fire disobediently wasted, haughtily grew unstable, mischievously burned the wood, and angrily melted the metal.
And this still wasn't the true power of the fire star.
If it was a star….
Then there should be a supercharge!
A blood technique I tried to develop, but failed in the past.
With the raging energy, the explosive strength and speed, as well as the fire star in the heart…
My blood started to course faster and faster across my veins.
The other elemental stars were panicking and wanted to cry as this was too much for them to handle!

My fist instantly rocketed to the air and produced powerful fiery shockwaves that spread everywhere.
"My strength leaped greatly!"
And with great strength, comes with great speed.
The supercharge slowly vanished.
I felt exhausted as the internal and external injuries were being healed.
After resting for a while, I checked my internal state.
The five elemental stars were reacting to each other.
Since they were still immature, the elemental stars could only complement each other by merging their gravitational forces, thereby increasing their absorption force and speed by a few times. It wouldn't take them long to completely mature.
The formation of five elemental stars has improved my elemental affinity to a new level, allowing the world in my eyes to appear much more colorfully with countless flows of elemental energies.
Elemental Vision.

I was still satisfied just by experiencing the mystical vision.
The elemental stars didn't only grant me exceptional affinities, but also greatly raised my elemental resistance. The resistance even extended slightly to secondary elements as well.
