Rex Shelford successfully removed all evidence of Daiyu, he bought the house as he planned. He carefully removed the furniture, and landline phone number and requested a new line. He is planning to go there and have Scarlett come with him he wants to renovate the house since the house is over the hill in the nearby town, she will love the place. house on top of a hill surrounded by green plains and farms will be the best sweet gift for Christmas, the children will be experiencing their first season as real kids and have a warm family.

Still, 3 months for Christmas and they need to act fast in the renovation. His assistant immediately contacted all staff needed and the engineers are waiting for the Baron's opinion on their designs.

He walked holding hot chocolate drinks with smores toward their veranda, where Scarlett was sitting reading a book.

"Would the Madam like a cup of hot chocolate and smores?" in a french accent and dancing with his eyebrows.

She sounded surprised "oh thank you monsieur, much needed" she then took a sip giving her husband a look," to what I owe the surprise" she giggled.

"Well, I wanted to surprise my beautiful wife and have some drinks together. I was neglecting in the past. you love reading during sunset and fall's night wind is magical, I thought it would be a nice gift for you, eh?" he smiled at her.

"Mmmmm, feeling guilty or hiding a bombshell?" raised her eyebrow.

"I don't want to lie both, my dear. I want you first to take another sip and nibble on the S'mores" he knelt and hold her hands giving her a heart attack from his tone.

"Rex, speak"

"You know I saw how the children Alam and Maria are doing, and how you love inviting them but they don't like big houses like our mansion. Christmas is near a couple of months, they would be depressed and heartbroken. right?"

She looked at him puzzled and narrowed her eyes, "yes"

"I thought about how to make them feel warm and enjoy something of their childhood, I lost both parents and brother when I was 6 years. life was dull and black, I missed the days that I should have cherished with my foster family and grandparents even with you."

"Rex" whispered Scarlett, he continued "I saw how desperate you are towards your friend's children, so I bought a house similar to theirs. I am making renovations to it and I need your help as you know the children more than me."

She looked stunned "You what?"

"I bought this house and giving it some updates for them" he gave her the pictures of the house and the surrounding area, "of course in real life much vibrant and lovely place," he add while sitting on the chair beside Scarlett.

"For real....not pranking me Rex?" sitting the pictures aside, staring at her husband.

"No dear why would I do that!" placing his hands on hers.

"I just want to make them smile and taste love, hope, and family warmth again, especially Maria. we do have a daughter and we don't know what might happen so we cherish these moments and help children as much as we can. No one can predict the future nor control it."

Scarlett kissed him in surprise, "you really changed Rex."

He returned kissing her, "I am happy you like it. tomorrow join me to give some look at it"

She nodded hugging him, he returned hugging her and they remained locked together and drinking hot chocolate.

The next morning:

At the new house, the baron and his wife were giving inspections and instructions. The house is 2 stories long, Austrian-inspired housing, 5 rooms, 3 bathroom, 1 big round balcony, a big garden, and worn-out fences. The house is on the hill and all surrounding areas are farms.

The plan to make a small pool for summer purpose for the children, a venue, a playground. The outer layer and inner layers of the house are to be renewed and painting it with colors.

Scarlett was giving details for the bedroom decoration and playground.

"Honey let us have a coffee break and get freshair outside"

They stepped out into the garden holding their coffee mugs, Scarlett clinged to his arm "thanks honey for this amazing opportunity."

"Aw dear don't say that. As I said yesterday, I am atoning my sins" he patted his hand oh hers and gazed his eyes allover her, "you look stunning today, shimmering must I say"

She blushed "may be because I am happy", she added, "this area is calm and therapeutic, the kids will love it hopefully"

He nodded," we will keep it simple and humble for their taste"

On the other hand, Daiyu was having hard time with her children, the newborn was crying non-stop.

"Aghhhhh my head will explode. Somebody shut her up!" exclaimed Daiyu "I can't take it anymore". A pale, black under-eyed, tangled hair, throwing her arms up in the air.

Her maid took the newborn from her bed and walked outside shaking her gently, Mei joined her trying in stopping the cries.

In her room Daiyu tried to stand and call rex's personal phone but with no vail "GOD Damn you!" she hit the phone hard knocking it off the table. Kneeling on the floor crying, slapping her face with both hands, she looked miserable. "You wont get away with it Rex Shelford! You will pay"

In the livingroom, the newborn slept in the maid's arms, "Mimi...why mommy is angry" whispered Mei, "did something bad happened?"

Mimi frowned and sighed "your mother is facing finical problems that is why" she played with Mei's hair comforting the toddler.

"Mommy don't like sister, why?"

"Look mommy was having trouble giving birth and taking care of the family, she was sick and stressed. No mother don't like her children, mommy loves you and your sister Sue. She just had hard time and rough days." the girl nodded with a frown, Mimi added, "we want to help mommy. By staying quite and don't talk to her the next days deal?"

"I won't ask her for anything, only you. I won't play loudly."

"promise, me Mei-mei"

The toddler smiled and nodded excitly "promise you Mimi"
