8 Gorgeous looking man

Skyline district,

GameHive Company.

A taxi parked at the side of the road, which was opposite the very alluring, and prestigious GameHive company.

Avery anxiously fidgeted with her tie as her heart raced with anticipation. She couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement, and nervousness as she gazed at the majestic skyscraper that stood before her. Its sleek glass windows reflected the sunlight, making it even more intimidating and mesmerizing.

Sitting beside her in the taxi, Madeline could sense Avery's unease. With a comforting smile, she reached out and gently placed a hand on Avery's shoulder. "You've got this, Avery," Madeline reassured her. "Your transformation looks fantastic. If I hadn't been the one that did all this magic, I would never guess that you are actually a woman."

"You are rught." Avery replied as she took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart, then she adjusted her fake recommended glasses as she glanced at her reflection in the taxi window, admiring the meticulous work that had gone into creating her new appearance.

"Are you guys getting out, or what?" The voice of the taxi driver snapped Avery out of her admiration. His voice was filled with impatience, and the way he was staring at her from the mirror, looked as if he was questioning her sanity.

The realization that he had heard everything they said, then dawned on her. He must think she was crazy for pretending to be a man.

"Yes, we are." Madeline replied as she laughed nervously. She paid for the ride, and they both quickly stepped out of the taxi.

As the taxi drove away, Avery and Madeline then let out sighs of relief. They really had to be conscious of their surroundings next time before saying stuff like that.

Well, the past is the past. Avery focused her attention back to the imposing glass doors of GameHive which beckoned her forward, and she steeled herself for whatever it was that awaited her. Madeline walked by her side, offering words of encouragement with every step.

"Don't be nervous, Avery. I'm sure with Owen's portfolio, you'd do great in there, and I'd be right there beside you all through this ordeal."

With renewed confidence, Avery nodded as they both stood before the gate of the company. There was no one in sight, and the gate didn't seem knock-friendly, so they were a bit confused on how they could get inside.

That was until Madeline saw a red button on the gate, which she then pushed without a second thoughts, and in no time, a slightly bulky man came in sight, and began to approach the gate.

"What business do you have here?" The man asked as soon as he got close enough.

"Uh.. I-I" Avery stammered as her nervousness kicked in again.

Madeline had to quickly step in to save the day. "He is Owen Campbell, and he is here for his interview. He was told to come today." She said with a sweet smile.

The security guard eyed Avery skeptically before he then replied, "Alright, just hold on for a bit while I confirm."

Once the man was out of sight, Madeline then held Avery's shoulder in a firm grip, jolting Avery. "Put yourself together, Avery. You are the one who is the actress between the both of us, not me. Just see the company as a set, while you are the actress who has been given the role of a man, okay?"

Avery let Madeline's words sink in, and then she nodded. Madeline was right, she was a pro-actress, and this shouldn't be such a big deal for her. "Alright, Madeline. I've got this." She replied with a voice filled with confidence.

The man returned shortly. "You can come in now, Mr. Campbell." He said as he opened the gate.

Avery exchanged looks with Madeline before she then stepped in. Madeline was about to follow suit, but the man stood before her, obstructing her way. "Sorry miss. Mr. Owen can come in, but you can't."

Avery opened her mouth, intending to argue, but Madeline quickly stopped her by saying, "Oh, that's fine. I'll just stick around. Call me if it goes well, alright?"

Avery nodded before taking one last look at Madeline, who also nodded in support, then she prepped herself as she walked through the entrance of GameHive, ready to face whatever challenges that lay ahead.

As she entered the building, Avery couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. The sleek and modern interior of the company was nothing like she had ever seen. The company was filled with bustling employees, and vibrant energy. She knew that this was the beginning of a new chapter in her life, and she was ready to embrace it with open arms, as far as it meant Owen would be able to get treated on time.

Avery saw the receptionist area, and she began to walk gracefully towards the front desk. Her acting mode was already on!

She cleared her throat to get the attention of the receptionist behind the desk. "Good morning!" She spoke in a gruff voice in order to sound manly.

"Mor.." The man behind the desk paused when he took a look at Avery's face, but he recovered on time and smiled genuinely, "good morning to you too! How may I help you, sir?"

Avery sighed in relief. She had thought the man had seen through her disguise. "I am here for my interview. I am Owen Campbell."

"Oh, I see." The man said, and then he made a call with the desk phone. After the call, he then faced Avery, and said, "You are seeking for a post in the technical department, right?"

Avery nodded, and said, "Yes, that's right."

"I just got information now that the CEO will be the one in charge of your interview. The way to his office is…"

Avery's eyes went wide in surprise, and her face drained of color. It was like all the blood in her face had vanished in an instant. Did she hear him correctly? Her interview was going to be with the CEO himself?

"Hello!" The man said as he waved his hand close to Avery's face. "If I were you, I'd just give up, already. Mr. Smith is almost never in a good mood, and you are already pretty late, but if you would still like to try your luck, then you should better hurry, and take the elevator to the hundredth floor. Good luck!" The man gave her a thumbs up.

"Thanks." Avery said with a forced smile, as she turned around, and headed straight for the elevator. She entered it, and pressed the button which had 100 written on it, and the ride begun.

Avery took her time to compose herself in the elevator. She wasn't prepared at all to face the man who had caused her to lose her previous job. She was worried that once she saw him, she would be tempted to cause him great harm.

Ting! The elevator sounded before it then stopped, and opened. Avery took a deep breath, and then she stepped out of the elevator. There was only one door in the large hallway, and so she approached the door and knocked gently.

"Come in!" She heard a voice from inside the office.

Avery slowly opened the door, and peeped inside. The office was surprisingly small compared to what she had in mind. Her attention was then caught by the man sitting behind the only desk in the office. He wasn't the CEO.

"Are you coming in or what?" The man said, while looking at her in amusement.

"Sorry about that." Avery apologized as she quickly entered the office, and shut the door behind her. "I'm just a bit nervous."

The man eyed her, and said, "Well you should be, you are late. Your interview was supposed to be by 9am, and now it is…" he paused to check the time on his wristwatch, and then continued, "10:25."

Avery looked at the man's desk, and saw a nameplate on it. It turned out the man's name was Christian Williams. She then put on a very pitiful expression on her face, and even resulted to pouting. "I'm very sorry for my very unprofessional behavior, Mr. Williams. I was about to leave my home, when my twin suddenly collapsed. I couldn't just possibly leave her alone, so I had to rush her to the hospital. I only left the hospital when I made sure she was fine."

The man looked dazed for some seconds, before he then shook his head, and said, "Oh… I'm sorry to hear that. Is your twin alright now?"

Avery was reminded of Owen's condition, and she let her sadness show on her face. She wasn't acting this time. "He is.. sorry, I meant she is getting better now."

"That's good to know." Christian smiled cheerfully at her. "You know what? Damn the rules! I can't handle seeing a gorgeous looking man look so sad, so go in there and have your interview." He said as he pointed a finger towards a door which Avery hadn't noticed since she got into the office.

'Did he just call me gorgeous?' Avery said internally as she blushed, but she snapped out of it, and quickly walked to the door before Christian would change his mind. "Thank you so much." She said to him, before she then opened the door to the office.

Immediately she stepped into the very large office, and closed the door behind her, she then heard a very familiar voice which she could never, ever forget. "How many times do I have to tell you to always knock, or call me, before entering into to my office?"
