Jason's First Kill (I)

Moments later, she was no longer the center of attention, and everyone shifted back to what they had been doing; forming groups.

They grouped around the high Talent players, mainly those with Talents leveled A and B, in some cases, even those with C leveled Talents.

Mind you, altogether there were only twelve with C leveled and above Talents within this game sever, hence it showed their importance.

Meanwhile, Jason himself stood afar and decide to be a spectator. He and a few others chose the path of solitude, and did not join any parties or groups.

His reason for staying solo was still the same, to hide his SSS Level Talent until he was strong enough to fend for himself.

As for the other solo riders, he did not care about them. They had their own reasons, and that's what mattered.

'Every man for himself. We barely know one another after all.' He thought, understanding their actions.

His other reason for staying solo was trust. He did not trust anyone here, regardless of their current situation, he would not place his life within the hands of others.

His classmates, and even friends were nowhere to be seen, let alone his family. He guessed they were within other Severs. And without any of them here, he would rather go solo.

He believed in himself anyway. With his SSS level Talent, he knew reuniting with his loved ones was only a given... 'If, they hopefully survive till the end as well.'

"..."

Time flashed by, and minutes later, 200 or so groups were formed by the 2 900 or so remaining players. The smallest having more than ten members.

Jason, and his fellow solo riders numbered less than fifty. They stood far back, and watched as the groups left the Safe Zone one by one, and walked into the wild.

Jason then watched as the solo riders soon followed next, making sure he was the last to leave the Safe Zone.

'I should stay as far back as possible. This way, the chances of meeting trouble is on the low.' He assessed.

Along the way, he remembered the use of his Talent and reluctantly touched the remains of the four dead players, and nothing took place.

But the bloody bones, and the gnawed pieces of the dead players reminded him of how this world was dangerous, and how everything was real.

It also taught him something. 'I can't be arrogant, or careless.' He thought with determination.

He thus hurriedly stood up and left. Along the way he passed by the Zombie Cat's corpse, and also reluctantly touched it as well, no expectation within his heart.

He was only disgusted.

Fortunately, to his luck, a notice appeared.

[ Infinite Extraction Complete!! You have extracted the Level E Talent - Semi-Enhanced Speed ]

[ Function: Encreases speed by two times ]

'A Talent? Sweet!!' Jason was more than joyful at the notice. He hurriedly checked his Template, and it had truly changed to;

[ Talent: Infinite Extraction - SSS ]

[ Distributable Points: 0 ]

[ Extra Talents: Semi-Enhanced Speed(E) ]

With this, he could now be twice as fast as before. Reaction speed, movement speed, flexibility, instinctive response...

All of these were affected.

"...I'm already getting ahead of everyone. I now have two Talents." He whispered to himself.

Now happy and excited, Jason wondered what more he could get from the Zombie Cat's corpse and touched it once again.

And to his surprise, another notice popped up without delay.

[ Infinite Extraction Complete!! You have extracted one Distributable Point ]

[ Note: Can be freely distributed ]

Jason checked his Template once again, and another changed had occurred.

[ Distributable Points: 1 ]

[ STR: 6 + ]

[ AGI: 8 + ]

[ VIT: 7 + ]

[ ERG: 30 + ]

[ INT: 30 + ]

He easily understood what freely distribute meant, plus, the definition itself was easily understandable. 'So I just have to allocate the points to my stats? Easy enough.'

He looked at his stats/index and thought carefully on what to do.

He came to a conclusion that since it was but a single point, he would not focus on balancing his index for the time being.

He instead chose to distribute the point to Agility, for he believed speed was important, and because he already had a speed-type Talent: [Semi-Enhanced Speed].

His AGI moved from "8" to "9", meaning that his speed would be "18" if it was doubled by the new Talent's effects.

With that done, he touched the Zombie Cat corpse once again, and unfortunately for him, nothing happened.

He stood up and thought, 'Seems that, this Zombie Cat had been extracted of what it could offer, and has no value anymore.'

Nonetheless he was satisfied and chased after a single group with a smile. His idea was simple. He was going to 'take care' of the trash the players leave on the road.

Of course, he was going to extract resources from the corpses he finds along the way.

But as he left, he decided to check out the weapons of the four dead players from before. So he went back to the weapons.

The first was a spade, which belonged to the bulky man. He then used his [Infinite Extraction] and extracted the impurities from within it.

The info then changed from;

[ Name: Rusty Spade ]

[ Rank: 0 ]

[ Function: Damage +5 ]

To;

[ Name: Upgraded Spade ]

[ Rank: 1 ]

[ Function: Damage +30 ]

Now Jason held a spade at one hand, and an axe on the other. He then excitedly checked the other weapons, and was disappointed.

One was a stick, one broken into four pieces. The other was a pen. He wondered what had given people with such gear confidence to challenge this game.

As for the last weapon, it was a pan. At least it was descent, he thought, and used his Talent on it. It was Upgraded as well, and he put it on his back.

It's information read;

[ Name: Upgraded Pan ]

[ Rank: 1 ]

[ Function: Defense +30 ]

He immediately felt safe with a layer of defense, as STR worth less than 40 points would not immediately kill him!!

"Damn. This Talent is amazing." He realized how overpowered and limitless the potential his SSS level Talent was, and was assured of his path to the top.

"..."

With confidence, he chose a direction that several solo players like him, and three groups, one with a Level A, and two with Level C Talents as their leaders, took.

Such a direction was bound to be bloody... and bountiful for him!!

Time went by, and the players went deeper into the wild. And the challenge likewise became more intense.

The groups and parties pushed forward and went on a killing streak. Killing Zombie Cats, Zombie Dogs, and other zombified wild creatures.

In some cases, just ordinary beasts that did not seem one bit ordinary at all.

Tigers that had powerful strength, birds that flashed with terrifying speeds, and even rats the size of dogs and cats.

All that one could think of within a nightmare were here, and the more they pushed on, the more things became more and more terrifying. Both in quality and quantity.

Meanwhile, Jason himself did not seem to mind that problem. He was protected by the three groups before him, and only did the work of an inspector.

Or so, was what everyone thought.

They would see him touch a corpse from time to time, not sparing a single one, as if studying it vehemently. His behavior was strange, and people began conversing about it.

"What is that guy doing?"

"Beats me. Maybe he has an inspecting-type Talent?"

"Disgusting. Look, he's touching it with a happy smile on his face."

"Alright stop focusing on him, and be on guard." The Level A Talent holder said as he put his team in order, and completely ignored Jason.

The other leaders also did the same and held their teams in line, before going their separate ways forward.

As for Jason himself, he likewise ignored every glance he was given. 'My happy meter is climbing up the roof the more I followed these guys anyway. Why bother?'

He thought, and touched a beast corpse that was killed not too long, and did a complete Extraction of resources.

[ Infinite Extraction Complete!! You have extracted the Level F Talent - Mighty Roar ]

[ Infinite Extraction Complete!! You have extracted one Distributable Point ]

[ You have obtained an orientated point. Your STR has increased by +1 ]

"Oh, an orientated point?" Jason was joyful at the encounter, and could not help but gaze at the beast corpse with gratification.

He then smiled at the three notice, and then casually pulled up his statistic index, and decided it was time he distributed all the points he obtained.

[ Distributable Points: 7 ]

[ STR: 8 + ]

[ AGI: 10 + ]

[ VIT: 8 + ]

[ ERG: 30 + ]

[ INT: 30 + ]

He smiled at the number of Distributable Points he obtained, and then thought of a path he would currently have to take.

But before then, one had to take into mind the fact that he had yet to distribute a single point, minus the first one he obtained.

Yet his index was higher than it was a moment ago. It was obviously because of the orientated points he obtained from four of the seven corpses he extracted from.
