1 Part 1

Today at school was tough, Randy the pothead was just enough then back home was harder since Mom brought a guy home, really? My Boss seems to think hitting on the waitress will get a good day. In the middle of the early evening, as I keep on walking on my way back home from work, I start thinking to myself. Even though I do not have a good relationship with most people I still have one friend, Fate Moore, we hardly hang out so it's tough. Then the nightmares and my spirits that haunt me, yes I'm a psychic medium. As I keep on walking, I then start to hear yelling, maybe it is just Randy with his friends-I should just take the long way back home. As I got onto a different street, I saw two people fighting with a third person lying on the ground, not moving a muscle- but yet one of them seems to be like Superman, with his super strength and speed. The man then jumps onto another guy and I gasp in fright. The super strong guy then turns his head and looks at me, he had blood in his mouth, and he had long fangs unveiling from his lips. He then got up and jumped towards me when someone shot at him and at that moment, he turned to flame, and dust fell to the ground. I look around and I see a man with a shotgun looking straight at me.

"Thank God I made it here in time," the stranger says to me.

Okay, what the Hell's going on here? I look at who saved me straight in the eye. I wonder if he had killed that 'thing' to have me for himself. When I continued to stare at him, his eyes softened when he saw my discomfort.

"Let's go kid, we need to move before more come,," his voice urges me to follow him..

"Since when were there cannibals here in California? I thought it was illegal!" I say, lacking air to breathe. My breathing was deep, and my vision was blurry, but it did not affect what he replied with.

"He was not a cannibal, that was a vampire, and you, one Hell of a lucky bastard almost became his next meal, what the Hell were you doing in the middle of the fight?" the unknown man asked.

"I was walking home, wa-wait did you say vampire?" my eyes bulged out of their sockets and my heartbeat accelerated even more.

"Yes, I am Cain, I kill the vampires who harm humans, you are lucky, son," Cain crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned against a big metal door.

"Lucky? Please tell me, in what way is almost getting eaten by a vampire lucky? Honestly, I am not seeing it," I stood back up straight and folded my own arms across my chest.

"Look, you are alive, now right? The least you could do is thank me,"

"Fine, thank you, I am John by the way," I relaxed as I realized my rude behavior. He saved my life after all.

"You are welcome, now come on in, you cannot stay out here when the vampires know you, it is your fault that one of their own died, they'll be after you, come and meet the team, they'll tell you what is going on,"

As we walk into the abandoned mall where everything seemed quiet, too quiet, and then all of a sudden, I am being slammed against a wall by an unknown woman and she is holding a knife to my throat!

"Cain, what the Hell were you doing?" she yells out in question.

"He is not a vampire Hope; I saved him from one that was two blocks away from here," Cain explains. she looks at him, then at me and then lets me go and puts the pocketknife in her pocket.

"What is your name, boy?" she asks as if she were my mother.

"My name is John, and why were you holding a knife to my throat?" I ask loudly. she sighs and ignores my question.

"Do not pay any attention to her, she does that with everyone," Cain explains but Hope gives him a glare that could scare anyone, and I mean even like the devil himself.

"Do not start Cain; you are still new to this war against the vampire race so I would suggest you watch it," she says, snapping at him like a snake snapping onto its prey.

"Well excuse me, the daughter of the first hunter of this group! I did not think that I was just nothing but a recruit..." He just wants to smack her for that since he is older than her.

"Hope! You go back to your quarters where I can talk to Cain and this young man here," a man calls out.

"Dad, Cain acts as if he can just recruit whoever he wants! We need to keep the humans safe, not just let them know that there are monsters out here that want to eat them!" she says protesting against her father. But he looks at her with silent eyes.

"Leave now Hope." he says quietly. She nods then gives Cain a quick glare and leaves.

"I am sorry if my daughter was being rude, but she has been trying to keep the burdens of being a hunter on her shoulders for so long; What is your name young man?" he asks.

"My name is Johnathon Haven Stone," I replied, wondering if this was really a dream. His eyes widened and went extremely pale.

"You are the boy that I saw in my dreams," he says just by looking at me.

"I am sorry sir, but what are you talking about?" I ask him, feeling confused. He looks at me and goes into deep thought for one long moment then he replies.

"I am sorry John, but the thing is, I just happen to be a man of the Lord and have been living in a war that has been going many of hundreds of years trying to search for the demon that we have been going up against, and that same demon that also has on numerous times from the past and up until now has been trying to kill me, but there is someone that the Lord mentioned to me in the far, far, past on how to defeat this monster," He explains. I look at him wide eyed.

"What?" I ask, then continue on.

"What are you and who are you?" I just want to know the truth. He smiles then looks down at his own worn-out hands.

"My name is Father Van Helsing," he answers.

"Because of my past with fighting against these monsters, it is not something I was going to bring up unless I knew who my descendant was, you are the one who must kill Vlad Tepes, also known as Vlad the Impaler," Father Van Helsing says looking at me. Okay, so I am 'destined' to stop and kill this vampire dude known as Vlad the Impaler? Um okay.

"Um, I think you got the wrong guy," I say, explaining as I start backing up against the wall feeling scared shitless.

"Son I cannot kill him as he put a curse on me that says I am not able to kill him with anything I have but you are chosen by the witch that cursed me into this world of immortality to kill Vlad himself," he explains. I look and laugh at him just wanting to wake up from this very disturbing dream.

"Um, I think I need to leave," I say, but Cain holds me down and glares at me.

"Either you do this, or I will kill you instead of letting that bloodsucker have the chance," Cain says as he growls at me. I look wide eyed and I see the priest sighing calmly and then placing his hand on Cain's shoulder.

"It is alright Cain, but John; all I ask is that you think about it, for now, we will see you again in a week and if you still feel the same way as now, we won't bother you anymore," Father Van Helsing explains. Cain then lets me go and I stand up slowly.

"Thank you, Father Van Helsing," I say, then leaving the abandoned mall hoping not to get stuck in the middle of a vampire fight again.

I get back home quietly and sneak into the kitchen where I can grab a bite to eat. As I was eating, I saw mom walk in.

"I did not think I would find you scarfing down food at this time of night," she says.

"I had run into some people and I had to lend a hand with something," I explain, just not wanting to deal with this right now.

"Well, I guess I will see you tomorrow," Mom says then leaves then hearing her mumbling out freak underneath her breath. Like I could care less anymore.

After I finished eating leftovers I had gotten from work and cleaned up the mess, then as I left the kitchen I turned off the lights and I got upstairs and got started on my homework- not wanting to deal with anything else since that moment I got attacked by that bloodsucker.

"You are a fool, Van Helsing!"

I wake up covered in sweat and feeling like I have been stabbed in the gut. I do not know how much more I can deal with this! How can I possibly go through night after night of these dreadful nightmares? Why can't they just stop?

I sit up and I go into deep thought. The visions that I am having are too vivid and they keep becoming more and more real each and every time. I get up and walk into my bathroom. I turn on the light and look into the mirror when I see a man behind me that looks just like me and he then starts talking.

"You will never win," he says, then vanishes into thin air. I gasp just wanting this to end. I turn off the light in the bathroom and I quietly rush back into bed and shut my eyes tight. Not wanting to hear, see or be near anything at that moment and then after five minutes of laying in bed, I fall asleep.

Getting up was a pain, because it's Hell…

It is Friday and it is at the end of the school day. As I walk out of the building, I see Fate running up to me and smiling her ass off.

"Hey, Johnny!" she says so excitedly.

"You ready to hang out?" she asks.

"Uh yeah, sure," I say, smiling back. She laughs and holds my hand gently; her touch makes me flustered, and I start to blush.

As me and Fate walk towards my truck so she can give me directions to her place, I see people huddled in groups whispering some stuff. Probably about me and Fate- I mean come on it is not like we are dating! I wish they did not make such a big deal. We get to my truck and she makes pointers to how to get to her place and I just nod, trying to understand what she is saying.

"You got it?" Fate asks, smiling. I nod. Then she does the most surprising thing- she kisses me on the cheek.

"I will see you when you come over," she said, then walked her way over to her car and pulled out of the parking lot.

I am driving to Fates house and trying to comprehend that she kissed me on the cheek. I mean no one has ever done that to me before. No one. I pulled into the driveway and I walked to the door and knocked on it. I am scared her parents might freak out by my appearance. But when I see the door open, I see a woman with golden blonde hair and bright hazel eyes in front of me.

"Oh hey, you must be John! I am Fate's mother, why don't you come in," she says as she opens up the door fully and lets me in. I walk in and I see pictures all over the walls as Fates mom leads me into one of the rooms in the house.

"Here's the family room, Fate will be here in a bit," she says then leaves. Wow, Fate's Mother was really nice. I look around the family room and I see so many pictures of this family. They seem so happy and loving and something that I will never have.

"Hey, Johnny!" someone calls out and I jump in surprise but seeing it was Fate. I look at her and smile, getting up she then walks over to me and grabs my hand.

"We finally hang out!" Fate was the one who would drink monsters mixed with kool-aid and cherry coke every day. I mean come on man you need to be careful! Listening to her talk about her family of hunters like Hope and Father Van Helsing, A.K.A. her father, was great. I got to learn and it was nice. Walking back inside home, or what it should be called to others, Mom pops in then makes a remark that'd depress anyone.

"Why are you back? Aren't you supposed to hang out with someone, or did she see how much of a freak you really are too?" Mom said, eating her sandwich as I walked into the kitchen to grab an apple.

"I left because she had things to do, so we only hung out for a little bit," I said, quickly grabbing my apple and then leaving the kitchen, walking upstairs and into my room as I sat down and immediately sat down and began doing my homework.

"Okay John let's get started" I say to myself

It's a boring night and Mom has the most amazing new boyfriend ever, oh joy! And I am stuck having to eat with Mommy dearest and the infamous; Erik Forbes, the supermodel. Ugh…

"Hey, John, how is school coming along for you? I mean with your appearance it might be hard to manage," he asks quietly. What a fucking ass, is he trying to act like his nephew, Randy and mock my appearance too? Jesus Christ, I wish I could find a decent human being that Mom hangs out with, but apparently no, there are none.

"Yeah, well I prefer to be a loner if you know what I mean," I say looking at him with cold eyes. He glares at me then looks at Mom like he is dying for her to smack me around for talking back to someone that could be the next 'Fabio'.

"Listen, sweetheart, I need to go but I will talk to you later okay?" he asks then kisses her quickly and goes off after that. She watches him walk out the front door then flashes a glare at me in telepathy so fast and hard that I almost got pushed onto the floor.

"You know how much you piss me off, John? You act like you are normal, but you are not!" Mom screams out then continues her insane screaming.

"And just because you live here doesn't mean I have to have anything to do with you. Your father felt the same way, it is why he left me you bastard!" she yells and says it in a way I am not able to comprehend the fact that both my parents did not love me like I wanted them to.

"Mom, I am really, really sorry I am not normal like you wanted your child to be and that we can never be family at all, but I just wish that we can at least be civil is all," I explain but then glass shatters and everything goes black.

"What is going on?" Mom asks whimpering. With my red eyes, I can apparently see stuff better than in the dark than anyone else. All of a sudden Mom screams and I hear a bang against the floor. The lights turn back on and I see the same type of monster that attacked me trying to drink Moms blood.

"Get off my Mom, you bloodsucker!" I say then grabbing the closest thing I can find and hitting him on the head with it. He grunts really hard from the hit and looks at me with blood lustful eyes and I see him just getting up; I see a knife and I reach for it.

"Do you really think you can kill me? You are a fool for thinking you could kill me," he says, then everything goes black, and I see myself in the same location but this time it is different.

"You look different from the last time we met Van Helsing," a man calls out. I look around but I see no one. Then all of a sudden, I come back to reality and I see the monster on top of me and yet I am still holding the knife in my hand. At that very moment he leans forward and tries to bite my neck to drain my blood slowly, but I kneed him hard in between the legs and I used the blade just in time. Watching him turn to dust immediately Mom screams then passes out.

"I see they found you," Father Van Helsing says at the kitchen doorway. I look behind me and I see him in old, rugged jeans and a plain solid black t-shirt. His eyes seemed like they expected that this would happen, and he stayed silent for a moment.

"I made my decision," I say then continuing.

"I will fight against any vampire that would cause harm to us humans," I answer. Father Van Helsing sighs then reaches out his hand.

"I will be there for you...no matter what the ending may be for the both of us," he says then looks at Mom.

"I will make sure your mom is safe, but we need to move before more come," he explains. I nodded quickly and watched the other hunters pick Mom up from the floor, we then headed off to the abandoned mall where all of this started...

I see the priest looking at me and Mom as we listen to what Father Van Helsing has to say about the hunters' group.

"Now just for your information Ms. Stone, since they know who you are and who your Son is, it wouldn't be safe for the both of you to stay at your house," he explains. Surprisingly, she is just silent; like she expected to hear that.

"I understand but right now I need to have a moment with my son," Mom says looking at him. Father Van Helsing then nods and gives us some privacy.

"What is it Mom, are you going to yell at me for another thing I did wrong?" I ask as I look into Mom's eyes. All Mom did was stand there in silence then took my hand and held it tight. The warmth that came from her showed something to me, this was bright as the sun.

"No Hon I am not," Mom answers then looking back at me and into my eyes.

"I just wanted to say thank you for saving me from back at the house," she says looking at me with silent tears. My eyes widened and all I could think of was how can she actually thank me? How can she actually make this a way for our relationship to be something to grow a close and loving bond between us?

"I know I have been hard on you and I know that it hasn't been great between us, but I want to start over by telling you the truth," Mom says as she explains this to me.

"Your Dad always loved you and hasn't stopped, even after what happened to his enemies," she explains.

"What enemies Mom?" I ask worriedly. She looks down at the cold cement floor and cries silently.

"The Demon that killed your father John, Ghost himself," She explains to me being shocked as all Hell.

"What? I thought Vlad Tepes was our enemy!" I ask, shaking in fear.

"No John, Vlad's one of our allies but just recently he was possessed by Ghost, but aside from that I need to tell you about your Father," Mom says.

"Your Father was not human John, he was born as a vampire prince and was next in line to become the next King of the vampire race, and when you were born; you were one too," she says then continues on.

"He died after taking that vampire trait out of you, but the one thing he couldn't change was your appearance with the white hair and red eyes," as Mom continues on explaining this to me.

"So, after all this, I was not normal, because of the reason that you hid me for eighteen years of my life, it was because I was not originally human," I say to Mom.

"Yeah in the end that's what I am saying," she says.

"How old was I?" I ask quietly.

"Six months old," Mom said. I nod and then hear Father Van Helsing come in through the door.

"Sorry Son, but we need to talk now," he says.

"We're going to get you into some hard training but since this is your first time, it won't be advanced as what we've been doing for years," he explains then leads me into a large room where all these weapons and mats were placed there and it looked like a hunter's type of gym. Father Van Helsing pointed across the room and I walked over.

"We will start by seeing if you have the basic defense skills, okay?" he asks. I nod as he looks deep into my eyes.

"You ready?" Van Helsing asked as he circled me. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I readied myself for the attack.

"Bring it," I said in the bravest voice that I could ever master. Suddenly, the priest charged at me and lifted my whole weight effortlessly. He dropped me down to the floor and dropped all of his might into pinning me to the floor.

"You weren't prepared, John, take a deep breath and try again, but put your feet like mine to withstand the impact," Van Helsing explains. I positioned my feet like him after he had helped me up. The priest charged at me again but this time I stayed standing. I groaned as my muscles were pushed to the max as I tried to thrust against this man's heavyweight.

"Well done, but if they get you on the floor, you are as good as dead, now let's get over to the weapons," the both of us then walked over to a large rack which covered the whole of the wall. The priest took his time to describe each weapon of destruction. He described the background, what it was made of and how to use it, all which helped me gain confidence in holding it. We used the space in the room like there was not enough; every centimeter of ground was covered as we tried to avoid each blow that went against each other.

"You are doing great, John, but remember though," a hand placed itself on my shoulder from behind me.

"Never have your back to the door," as Father Van Helsing says then without any moments noticing, I was suddenly flipped over to the high heavens by the hand. Hope stood above me in all her glory as she stared triumphantly at her father.

"He is good, Dad. But not good enough yet," she says then without allowing anyone else to comment, she left the room as quietly as she had entered.

"Okay, John, let's get back to work," and when Father Van Helsing was saying work, it was no exaggeration. For these passing five hours, I was pushed, pulled, stretched, and contorted until every inch of me knew how to escape and avoid the chance of vampire's trying to make contact with me. Sweat dripped off me like a waterfall and my muscles ache like they were on fire. Through it all though, I struggled and continued. I was doing this for my Mom. I was doing this for life and as I kept fighting. After hearing the ongoing sounds of Mom's screams of fear and as she got attacked and could've been killed by one of the many bloodsuckers that worked for Ghost and the first one that I killed earlier; I won't fail her. Or Dad.

"Okay, now we're done for now! Are you okay John?" Father Van Helsing asks, smiling as he walks away to grab a bottle of water. I sighed and I sat down on a bench by where the priest was at as he was drinking some water quietly.

"You need to be prepared and pretty soon, you are going to be fighting him, and if you succeed in defeating him-" He said then paused for a brief moment.

"Then everything will go back to peace, aside from hunting the random vampires that Vlad did not even turn and other supernatural creatures that hurt humans." Father van Helsing explains.

"Okay, now you and your mother need to go and get some rest," Father Van Helsing says, patting me on the shoulder as he closes his water bottle and puts it down on the table. I got up and I followed him to the front of the building where I saw mom talking to Hope. She turns and looks at me and flashes a fierce glare at me. Okay, so what did I do to make her day go to shit?

"Thanks for letting me know, hopefully I will make sure to keep it a secret," Mom says quietly then walking to the double doors.

"Let's go, John," Mom says smiling. I look at Hope for a moment then leave with Mom.

"Hope said that you hung out with her sister Fate,"

"Yeah, she asked if we could hang out at her place and I said yes," I replied back. She was then silent as she was still cooking up dinner then spoke again.

"I think right now, you have to give it sometime before Hope will even give you a chance to talk to her as more than just hunters," Mom explains.

"Yeah, I figured that she did not like me much, I know that it'll take time for her to even go near me without holding a pocket knife in her hands," I say as I look out the window. For a moment after looking out the window for a long period of time, I saw a man standing there. He was tall and wore all black, it was hard to tell what the details were to his very appearance but he looked like someone I knew in the past, but other than that I just ignored it.

"Dinners done," Mom calls out. Standing up, I walked into the kitchen where I sat down across from Mom and started eating with her. Thinking about the time it first started. When I had the first nightmare of Father Van Helsing. Thinking about it and as I sit there eating my cheeseburger and salad, I noticed Mom's hand wave in my face.

"Are you okay John?" Mom asks worriedly. I sigh and then place my cheeseburger down.

"I was thinking of when I had my first nightmare, about the priest and Vlad," I explain.

"Everything will work out fine John, so please do not worry," she says smiling as she picks up her cheeseburger and takes another bite of it. She is right, I cannot worry about this. I need to focus on fighting against Ghost and his army of monsters. No matter what.

"Hope, since John's gotten more experience, go with him to a new case that happened a mile from John and Kate's home," Father Van Helsing explains. Looking at the both of us, Hope then nodded and led me to her car and as we got into the car, she sped out of the parking lot and we then got started on our way to complete hunting the monster at hand as my first case.

As we were on our way to the vampire's whereabouts, Hope was dead silent and all I can think of was how she reminded me of that spirit that keeps on coming to me; Hope. Hope's eyes directed to me then went back to the road again.

"You are creeping me out, stop looking at me like that," Hope says.

"Sorry, it is just you remind me of this spirit that comes to me when I get depressed, she calls herself Hope," I Answer. Hope's eyes widened in shock then shaking her head and just kept on staying silent. Looking out the passenger car window, I can tell secrets are slowly but surely coming out from them for my very right to know about.

"Whatever you guys are hiding from me, I will bite my tongue and won't ask any questions, do not worry Hope," I explain.

As both me and Hope pulled up to the crime scene, we got out and looked through every inch of space that surrounded us.

"Hope, is it like this with every vampire? Just leaving after a--" I say, but as I said those words, I caught sight of a vampire behind Hope.

"Hope, he is behind you!" I shout out loudly in fear. Hope turns around but it was too late as he was able to pin her down and cause her to scream out in fright. Pulling out my gun, I point it at the vampire who slowly got up from shaking Hope up to the extreme. The moment of pulling the trigger and causing the vampire to turn to ashes. I place my gun back in my pocket, I walk over, and I get Hope back up on her feet.

"Are you okay?" I ask Hope. for a moment of silence. Hope then nods and walks back to the car and gets the both of us back to Father Van Helsing.

Walking into the school building after a day's work of hunting new recruits of weak vampires, I sat in studio art class and as soon as we began class, Mr. Scott then announced a new student. Walking into the classroom, it is none other than Hope.

"Okay class we have a new student here in our school, her name is Hope Moore. Why don't you tell us three things about yourself?" Mr. Scott asks. Hope looks at the whole class then a long, deep breath.

"My name is Hope Moore, I like writing and drawing, my zodiac sign is Scorpio and I love the book 'Phantom of the Opera'," Hope says. Mr. Scott then smiles and points towards me.

"I will be giving you a seat with one of your fellow classmates, his name's John so you can both get to know each other," Mr. Scott explained as the other students started to laugh quietly about me talking to another student, even though I became friends with Fate not too long ago.

As me, Hope and Fate sat with each other, students walked past us and mumbled crap about me, like I was going to hurt the both of them.

"I hate school," Hope says groaning after each and every bite of her vegan wrap. Well I have a good reason why I hate school; I just do not want my ass kicked.

"Hope, you are lucky our classmates do not pick on you, try to look at yourself if you were in Johnny's shoes, his problems are worse than what you think your problems are when you come here every day," Fate explains as she becomes stern about it. She is right, I do not think I will ever feel welcome in this school.

"What is with that look?" Hope asks, snapping my head off.

"Nothing," I reply.

Getting inside the house, Mom walks over to me and leads me into the living room to talk. Probably about both Hope and Fate again.

"Father Van Helsing said that Hope was giving you grief at school today, Fate just got sick and tired of it, so she told him and well...that's something that Hope has to take responsibility for," Mom said as she then held my hand. Nothing made sense though.

"Does Hope hate me?" I ask.

"I do not hate you," says Hope from behind me. Turning around in alert, both me and Mom nearly died in fright from that. Father Van Helsing was standing there next to her and looked at her in irritation.

"Hope, what did you need to tell John about what had happened at school today?" Father Van Helsing asks. Hope then looked at me and said the words so quickly that the words did not have meaning to them.

"I am sorry, I just do not want you near my sister, just back off and I will try to keep myself from trying to kick you," Hope explains cold heartedly. Father Van Helsing then smacked her gently on the top of her head.

"You are not going out hunting until you stop being disrespectful towards John and the other hunters that do not fit your definition of what a hunter is supposed to be," says Father Van Helsing. Watching Hope storm out of the house and leaving the three of us in dead silence.

"John, I am giving you over in Fate's hands as there's many things that's going to change you as a part of my group of hunters," Father Van Helsing explains.

"What changes?" I ask. Both Mom and Father Van Helsing were silent, and Father Van Helsing then spoke.

"I cannot tell you as God ordered me to keep it a secret, only you can figure it out and on your own," Father Van Helsing answers then turning around and leaving without another single word. Looking back at Mom, there's secrets that I guess I will have to find out in the future. Maybe it is good news about me, and the other students will get along for once? Mom then smiled and stood up.

"I will call up the Chinese restaurant, so we do not have to do major cooking. Egg drop soup like usual?" Mom asks. I nodded and went into the kitchen to watch her call them up. We took a long time to tell each other the truth. Thanks' Goddess.

"John?" says Father Van Helsing. I looked at him by the door and realized that I am finally free from being the victim. I have friends and my Mom is there for me, I am strong, and I am not going to give in.

"John, we need to talk about the secret that we've been silent about for centuries, please follow me," Father Van Helsing requests.

Walking into Father Van Helsing's office, everyone was in here. Mom stood up and walked over and a single tear fell from her eyes.

"John, I was told to keep something from you. This is something I have never wanted to keep from you." Then taking my hand and sending a pain twisted touch to my hand.

"Van Helsing was at one point living each and every life, but he lost his memories of this century,"

"How could Van Helsing have lost his memories when he stands right here?" I ask. Then Father then stood up and looked at me with a serious look in his blue eyes. Something was wrong here.

"I am not Van Helsing John, my name is Father Van Moore, but both you and Father Van Helsing are closer than what you and your Mother had ever imagined," Okay this is confusing here. Mom just looked at him then fear filled her eyes.

"You do not mean…" Mom says then covering her mouth, she then fell to her knees. Kneeling down beside her side, I am just wondering what is going on here.

"What is going on Mom?" I ask. Mom looked over and into my eyes.

"John, Van Helsing was at one point the first to be trained to fight against Ghost, but he was possessed and killed before having control over his body,"

"Who and what is Father Van Helsing to me? How are we connected with this war that we're in against Ghost?" Father Van Moore sighed and knelt down beside both me and Mom.

"That part is something we cannot say until the higher powers give us the okay on, I am sorry John," Father Van Moore answers. Getting up, I walked to the door and left without saying a single word. It is bullshit to know that they are keeping these things from me!

Looking at everyone feeling confused about who Van Helsing really is. After talking to Mom and Father about me and him, it is just news to me.

"Okay so you're telling me that he really is father Moore and he is not really the priest that died after he got possessed by Ghost after trying to kill ? plus how can I be Van Helsing's twin brother even after hundreds of years ago Mom?" I asked just wanting to know why they lied to my face. Mom nods and looks at the priest.

"I was given a job by the divine to train you in hopes of defeating Ghost and his army," Father Van Moore confesses to me. My hands formed into tight fists. This is insane!

"Why should I believe you? You've been keeping me from knowing who and what I was and who I was born as before being reborn in this century," I say to them. But Mom then took my hand.

"He is really the priest who was sworn to train you for the final battle with Ghost, I am so sorry John," she says then starts to cry. Giving out a sigh, I looked at her as I became calm.

"It is not your fault mom, I just wish you guys can be more honest with me," I say then walking over and holding her in my arms. The priest then looks at me and gives off a frown.

"I need to speak to you alone John," Father Van Moore says then Mom backs away. Looking at Father Van Moore, she nods at something that I cannot understand.

"I will wait for John, do not worry," she says, then walks out of the room. Father Van Moore sighs then looks at me again.

"To be honest I never wanted it to come to this but-" he says then pauses.

"I need you to remember all that had happened to your twin brother in the past," Father Van Moore says, then places his hand on my shoulder and I black out.

My eyes widen and I remember everything that I saw.

"Oh I see you are up," someone calls out then I look up and I see a man with black hair that's been styled to a buzz cut and he is wearing a black suit shirt with black slacks, his black eyes darting right at me and his fangs glittering from the moonlight and as soon as he spoke Father Moore rushes in and yells out his name.

"John, you run and inform your Mother about Ghost, me and Hope have your back in your escape!" Father Van moore then shouts;

"There's a bomb to set off soon, hurry!" he urges me.

As I ran on my way back outside the abandoned mall then blew up, there came a painfully cold breeze as a winter's storm and as I walked down the road, the streetlights began flickering then blew out completely. Being surrounded by the dark, frightening cold areas were too terrifying to explain. As I walk further down the road, it was too dark for the stars to come out–

"That's not true John," a voice calls out. Turning around, I see the same girl that always came to me before I became a hunter.

"What is going on? How come everything is being consumed by the winter darkness? It doesn't make sense!" I say in fear. The girl smiles sad and walks over and takes my hand. All of a sudden–

"The lights!" I exclaimed in wonder as the streetlights turned back on. The breeze began warming, then looking up into the sky, the moon was big and bright and the only word I could think of was.

"Hope," the girl smiles warmly and looks into my eyes.

"I lo-" the girl was about to say something but then pauses and began fading away

"Wait! Can you tell me your real name?" I ask her. The girl then smiles and laughs a bit.

"You will know after saving Vlad from Ghost, but I will say one thing though," she says then pulls out a picture from her jeans pocket.

"You may think Hope did not want to be close to you because she said that it was against what a real hunter would let happen in their hearts, but it was a lie as just like Fate, Hope was fond of you up and until her death," the girl says then vanishes into the light and silence hit. Smiling to myself, I let out a chuckle as I turn back around.

"Well John, let's hurry back home," I say to myself as I then go back on my way to Mom.

"You know that staring at someone without talking is quite rude," Ghost says it in a serpent's laughter a bit.

"Well then you must know that for you being born as a demon will not have an honorable ending, correct Ghost?" I said then, pulling out my sword and pointing it towards him.

"Let's end this, demons and servants of the devil!" I roared as I ran towards him and at that moment, I found the truth on how he was not able to die. Holding the swords that pierced through Ghost, but it had no impact on him. But now it is the complete opposite. I can feel the pain as if the sword went through me, this is wrong. Falling down and onto the ground, I can feel the blood spilling from my injury. Ghost looked down at me in pity.

"You are a fool for thinking that you could defeat me dear Father, such foolishness as for you to think that I would die by your hands," Ghost says as he stood looking down at me as I lay on the ground in the shadows of the forest.

"We will be rid of you and your army Ghost, and this is my sworn duty to protect my fellow brothers and sisters in this world God and Goddess made for our lives to live in, you will die one day," I say to him. In these final moments of the life I am dying, I promise you my Lord and Lady, that we will be victorious in killing these monsters of the night.

"Well Father Van Helsing, let's see if there's truth to being able to kill me and my army of monsters," says Ghost. Walking further into the shadow, he stops at a halt and turns around with a wicked smile.

"You will be a monster like me if I find out that you are able to be back in the future, I promise you that," Ghost says then vanishes into the darkness.

"Dear Father!" Ian and Vlad shout out from afar. Seeing Ian was a sign that God and Goddess is sending me a gift to be able to defeat and kill Ghost along with his army into the chaos. Ian then pulled out a vial of the potion that had been made from Anastasia made in case I was in danger.

"Father, drink this. Anastasia made it so you can be brought back when you find the power to be rid of Vlad once and for all," Ian says as he hands it to me. Even though it would be a sin to be brought back from the dead, it is something that needs to be done. No matter what the cost, Heaven or Hell, I need to keep the promise I made to God and Goddess that I would protect all of creation. Drinking the potion, I looked at Vlad and Ian and smiled.

"Ian, Vlad, promise me that when I do return that you'd keep my memories until the time is right," I ask the two of them. Tears formed in Ian's eyes and then nodded.

"I promise," I closed my eyes and at that moment, I fell into the darkness that will keep me safe until I am reborn here on earth. Goodbye my brothers and sisters, I will be back again soon.

"John, are you okay?" Mom asks. Looking up, I shake my head.

"Father Van Moore and Hope were killed by Ghost when he was possessing Vlad," I answer back. Mom's eyes widened and all I could do was feel my heart becoming cold since it was my fault for not being able to save them. Mom placed her hand on my shoulder. Her expression was confusing like she was not surprised about it.

"Mom?" I asked, but Mom's eyes began turning darker into a glossy jet black.

"What is wrong dear John? You look like you are looking at a ghost!" Ghost shrieks at me. Jumping out of the chair and then blinking my eyes–

"John!" I hear Mom's voice from a close distance. After a moment, I open my eyes and I see Mom looking at me by my side in my bed.

"Do not worry, Fate has scared Ghost away so you can get out of his control, do not worry John," Mom says. This is bad, now I have more chances of being stalked by Ghost. What is going to happen is something that I need to know, or I will die failing to get that kind of information.

I wake up to the sounds of whispering and mumbling in the dark. I look up and I see a group of people that are huddled together. One then turns to me and gasps in fear.

"You are not supposed to be here!" they scream out then feeling myself waking up to Ghost's hand smacking me on the head.

"Wake up you bastard!" he hisses at me. Groaning from listening to his not so lovely words, I look at him, not wanting to be near him at all, I then look away.

"Do not turn away from me boy," he says, then grabbing me by the chin and looking at me quietly.

"The reason why I let you live is because of a few reasons, one- I want the final battle to be unexpected on your side, two- I want history to repeat so I do not end up dead- and finally three- I want you to know the story of how I was born and how I changed into who and what I am here in the twenty-first century,"

******************

I wake up and I am in my house, mom is looking at me and her cheeks coated with tears.

"Thank the Gods, John are you alright?" Mom cries out in fear.

"I am fine Mom," I tell her then feeling the wound that he inflicted on me and it was sore like he did not really stab me, it just felt like a large bruise I was playing with.

"I am just so glad you woke up son," she says smiling with tears rolling down her eyes as she holds.

"Ghost, he is possessing Vlad he stabbed me, and I blacked out-" I try to say but she stops me.

"I know Hon, I found you on the couch like this when I saw Ghost possessing Vlad looking at both you and me then he vanished without a trace," Mom explains this to me. I take a deep breath and I try to sit up but a burning pain kicks in and I fall back into a laying down position.

"Here, let me take a look," she says as she then raises my shirt a bit above, she gasps and grows silent.

"It is the devil's star," Mom says as she looks at it.

"What is that?" I ask. She was silent again, like she just could not figure out something.

"It is a symbol for the saying, 'An eye for an eye' so whatever happens to the originator, the person that hurts them gets the same harm put on them, it is a symbol that reflects the harm between two people," she explains. That explains why Van Helsing died that day from being possessed by Ghost when he was trying to kill Vlad, it was because he put that curse on me so there was not going to be any chance of me saving our friend.

"How do I remove it?" I ask. She looks down and sighs.

"There's no way of removing it. Unless you become what they are, then it gets negated." she explains quietly. Okay so unless I turn into the monster he is, then there is no way of defeating him.

"So, what is the plan? How do we defeat Vlad if we cannot kill him or even hurt him without hurting me?" I asked.

"I am not sure," she says, answering back. I sigh and I get up again, sitting up I take a deep breath and look out the window.

"I saw something before he knocked me out and took me,"

"I think I saw the people that he killed," I say to Mom, just thinking of all the people he slaughtered in that manner. Her eyes widened and then took my hands gently.

"Your father had that same ability. The ability to see spirit is, it is a primary ability for vampires in general aside from mind reading, telepathy and levitation," she explains to me as we just sit there alone and wondering about this whole thing.

"Another thing also, one of his servants that I killed said that a wound from the head and heart and going into sunlight would kill a vampire, when I saw Vlad's possessed body- he did not get affected by the sunlight," I explain just wondering about it can it be so insane compared to the average vampire of the night. She was silent then looked out the window.

"That is quite strange, only pure blood vampires and higher can be in the sunlight, but only the Goddess and God would know about this about Vlad and his first wife, he was turned by his first wife who was a pureblood vampire, maybe he had taken a bit of her powers and who knows what else," Mom says just wondering the same thing too. All of a sudden, we hear knocking at the door, we race to the door and open it up, only seeing hunters there that looked pissed off.

"You killed Hope and Father Moore!" Cain shouts out in anger then tries to grab me by the shirt.

"Yes, I did, I had to because Hope was already about to turn into a vampire and she asked during her last breath, and father Moore was killed by Ghost after saying that he was possessing Vlad who ripped his heart out," I explained quietly. Cain was silent for a moment then backed away.

"So, how did you make it out of there?" he asks.

"He left the mall after killing them both, after that I went back home to explain everything but he did not capture me till after that and then I found out a lot more than I realized." I answered quietly.

"First off, with Ghost possessing Vlad he is a lot stronger than any normal vampire because of using Vlad's body, he can survive in the sunlight, he cannot be killed unless I die," I explain. He sighs then looks at mom. Mom's eyes widened.

"At this point of the bloodstained war between us and Ghost with his army of monsters, I do not care if Vlad and Ghost don't die! I am not letting you kill my son!" she screams out. Okay so they want me dead, even though they want peace.

"There's no other option, this is our only chance," he explains, Cain then walking away from the door.

"I will be killing Vlad, so just say your goodbyes before you die," he says coldly, then leaves with the other hunters.

"I won't let them John, even if it kills me," Mom says quietly.

"I know," I say back just looking outside at the moonlight. The crescent moon just seemed so quiet and calm. After all we have been through, I cannot back out now. Not like this-

"We need to get some rest, we will sleep in the living room so we will be prepared for any attack," Mom says to me, I just nod and lock the door as she then takes my hand, and leads me to the living room. I just hope that me and Mom get a full night of sleep, or at least try.

As I sit down in history class, everything seems normal. But something tells me that this is becoming too normal- way too normal, like I am living in a nightmare.

"Hey Johnny," Fate said as she tapped me on the shoulder.

"Hey Fate," I say to her, just not wanting to talk about Hope.

"I just wanted to say thanks for trying to save Hope, even though what had happened was a fail-at least you tried to save her, even if it meant keeping her from turning her into one of those monsters," Fate explains just knowing that her sister and Father died and I couldn't be strong, enough to keep them from being killed. All I am able to do is nod, just feeling down by this whole situation. The bell rang and Mr. Manning walked in quietly.

"Hello students, today we have some terrible news," he says looking at us all.

"Randy Valentino Forbes died last night," he says to everyone in the classroom, my eyes widened, and I am starting to wonder about the vampire attacks and finding out that Randy was just found dead.

"Until the investigation is over, the police will be in the school questioning all of us," Mr. Manning says to try and let us know that we all need to need to remember that Randy, the "Straight A" and a greatly known student for the football team and our schools "Honor" student

"Okay now since that is settled we will be reviewing yesterday's lesson on world war two attacks from Japan," Mr. Manning says to everyone here then taking out our binders we sit and listen to the details on the attack on pearl harbor.

The school bell rang, and I got up, seeing Fate getting up and putting her things in her bag then looking up at me.

"Hey Johnny, after school would you want to hang out with me? I have to talk to you about a couple of things, mostly your Mom and how to protect her from attacks in all directions," she explained to me. I look at her and I nod.

"Just send me a text on where you will be, okay?" I ask. Fate nods and we leave the classroom in our separate ways and without another word.

It is at the end of the day and I am walking out of the school building when I see Randy's dad talking to some policemen. He looked up and saw me. His eyes for some reason or another were saddened then seeing a single tear falling from his eyes. All I can do is look away and ignore what was going on. Getting into my truck I start it up and pull out of the parking lot and get on my way to Fate's home.

"Oh, Hello John! What brings you here?" Fate's mom asks.

"Fate asked me to stop by," I explained. She just looks confused then replies back in such a strange manner.

"Did not Fate tell you? She doesn't live here," she says quietly, then closing the door and leaving me with many questions.

"What the Hell is going on?" I ask myself as I walk back to the truck. As I start up my truck, I hear my phone ring and I see it is Fate.

"Johnny, I am at the local museum, meet me here in ten minutes," she says, then quickly hangs up. Okay now things are getting scarier, first Fates mom does not remember Fate living here and now I have to be at the local museum in ten minutes or less.

I pull into the parking lot at the museum and I see Fate talking to Cain and she looks steamed. I walked over to them and looked at me like he would be looking at a vampire.

"I do not want you near Fate anymore." he says then Fate snaps at him.

"You still do not get it Cain, you aren't our leader and you never will be!" she says then takes my hand.

"Why do you think I asked to meet you in public to begin with?" Fate asks in irritation over that then takes me to her car.

"It is not safe to drive in our own cars, so I will be driving," she says, then starts up and pulls out quickly before managing to follow us.

"Your Mom told me about what had happened last night, the devil's star is the most powerful spell in voodoo and in chaos magic, it was custom made by the Libra coven, they made it so they never get hurt by their enemies--because once the enemy hits that person who they're fighting against, the enemy will be hit with that injury. When Ghost cast that spell on Father Van Helsing, and soon after possessing him, Ghost used this possession to kill him by attacking Vlad," She said then pausing for a brief moment.

"If you hurt Ghost through Vlad's body, and since he won't get hurt by that wound, you can still get hurt yourself, no matter what," she explains to me as she looks out at the silent road as if we were in a 'Twilight Zone' show episode.

"I see the future and I know what is to come, you will defeat him John, but at a great cost," Fate says just wanting to say something, but she keeps it hidden.

"I understand Fate," I say just wanting this to end and be happy for once. As we drove to who knows where, my phone started to ring. As soon as I was going to pick it up, she grabbed it and threw it out of the window.

"It is too dangerous to have any contact with anyone right now, I am sorry John," Fate says looking out as she keeps on driving with an unexplainable expression on her face.

"I had to cast a spell on my mortal family relatives to make them think I had never lived there," she explains quietly.

"What about your Mom? Where's she in this war?" I ask Fate. She just ignores me and at that moment, tears fall from her eyes.

"My Mom died a year before you first met us, Cain though is just like what Hope was before she was killed, the two of them knew things but never confronted each other about, but if something happens to me just know that you will have to confront him and tell him that I said to do it," Fate says then wiping the tears away from her eyes. In the end, I can understand being in Fate's shoes because my Dad was killed when I was still a baby and being in an extremely abusive relationship with Mom because they were only trying to "Help,".

"But Johnny, I know that your Mom being alone won't make her safe, and even if you do live with your Mom, they will still kill her because you are still not strong enough to fight," Fate explains. My eyes widened and fear engulfed me and tried to drown me to death. Filled with agony, I just tried to ignore the pain and fear that my own mother might be next as well.

"Your mother will be fine, I made sure of it," she says smiling.

"I cast a transformation spell to make her into a completely different person and I sent her to a different place," Fate explains, just trying to keep the atmosphere positive.

"Okay, but after this war, will I see her again?" I asked just hoping that her answer would be a yes.

"I am afraid not, because even after Ghost is defeated, he still has people to serve him as their King," my eyes start to water as I look out the window. I will not be able to see her again. Even when we just started becoming so close over this short amount of time.

"But just letting you know this one thing, no matter how far apart you two are, there will always be love between you two," Fate says smiling. I sit in silence and then wipe the tears off my eyes. I force that smile on and I look at her as I hold her hand.

"I am glad we can be friends," I say to her as I smile small. She laughs quietly and tightens the hold on my hand.

"Yeah, I am glad too Johnny," Fate says then keeps on driving down a long dirt road, without telling me where the Hell that we were going.

"How do you think we will win?" I ask. Fate sighs quietly and looks at me.

"I cannot tell you about the future Johnny, because only time can tell you," she explains.

"Hey Fate?" I ask.

"Yeah," I smile.

"Can you make a promise to me that you won't die?" I ask quietly. Her eyes widened at what I asked.

"I cannot make any promises Johnny," Fate says just, looking like she needed to find a way to explain things without too much detail.

I need to be strong. I need to make sure that Fate will be okay.

"Johnny," she asks.

"Yeah, Fate?" I ask back. Fate smiles and stops the car; she then leans over to me and kisses me on the lips softly.

"I love you Johnny," Fate says smiling.

"And if I do die, promise me that you will find someone who will make you happy?" she asks. My eyes widened and I nodded. She then looks back out and starts to drive again. She loves me. As me and Fate spend these moments together, darkness spreads over my sight.

"Fate!" I shout as she disappears.

I opened my eyes and I found myself with Fate once again. But there is something different with her. Something that I never saw before.

"Hey Fate," I say quietly. Fate looks at me and then smiles.

"Yeah, Johnny," she says smiling back, with her soft eyes she looked at me, wondering what I was going to say.

"I was wondering something, how about you teach me some spells so I can learn how to fight with magic?" I ask. Fate was silent then laughed a bit.

"Well I guess, but be prepared for hard times with it, okay?" she says to me. I laugh a bit and nod.

"John, we might have to go outside of the state for a while," Fate says to me. Okay that confused me, now why would we?

"It would be easier for us to hide from Ghost and his army, plus-" she says then pauses.

"I can be able to teach you spells in a more stable environment," Fate explains to me straightforwardly. Okay, now it explains why. As we keep on driving down the never-ending highway, I start dozing off and then soon after I fall into a deep sleep. I open my eyes and I see Fate starting to tap me on the shoulder.

"Hey, you are up," she says. Stretching my body and letting out a long, loud yawn and I look at the time in the car. It is after three in the morning.

"Wow," I say to myself, just wondering how the time flew so fast.

"I found us a place where we can sleep and eat for a while," Fate explains. I took a deep breath and I saw that we were in the parking lot of a motel.

"I understand," I say, just wondering what is going to happen now.

"There's a grocery store not too far from here so you do not have to worry," she explains getting out of the car. I sigh as I get out of the car as well.

Walking to the man that gives out the keys to the rooms, his expression just shows a pig-like personality. Well at least he is just perverted towards legal adults...At least I hope so.

"Well, well my dear it looks like we got ourselves a couple," the elderly man says looking at both me and Fate and giving out a chuckle when we hit to get a room here. Looking at him makes me wonder about what it meant when Fate confessed her feelings for me. Fate just laughs a bit.

"Actually, we were traveling but we needed to get some rest for a while before we hit the road again," Fate says smiling. The elderly man became silent then looked at me.

"You look familiar son, have we ever met?" the elderly man asks.

"I am afraid not sir sorry," I reply to his question as we look at each other.

"Well, I guess it is my age then," the elderly man says laughing then handing us a key to a room.

"You kids run along now, just do not do anything I wouldn't do," he says, giving out a chuckle. As soon as we walked out the door, a gust of a frosty wind flew against us and then the sound of a wolf howl hit us as if it were right in our ears. Both me and Fate began to look all around us.

"We need to leave and forget the motel room!" Fate says in alert as if she knows something that I do not know. Fate and I immediately ran to the jeep, jumping in, and speeding as fast as possible. As we keep on driving as far as well as fast away as possible, Fate looks at me, smiling at me. She then takes my hand and holds it right. The warmth of her touch sent my heart faster than a speeding bullet, remembering what Fate had confessed before made me wonder if I love her the same way too. Is it possible? Who knows at this point, I just need to focus on hand here; To defeat Ghost and his monster army of the damned?

"Where are we going?" I ask. Fate being silent, I can tell that she is not ready to bring it up yet because of the powers from above or well...the same, I guess.

"I am not ignoring you and I am not keeping back information because of the powers from above, I am still not sure on where would be a safe place to go to, give me a bit and I will let you know when, but for now you will be talking to someone who's been meaning to have a word with you," Fate explains then letting go of my hand, she places her hand on my forehead and everything turns to darkness.

After being knocked out for about an hour and what information I got, Fate then let me have it.

"Okay so here's the plan, I know a place that we can train," she says to me. I look at her confused.

"Where would that be?" I ask. Fate smiled and looked at me.

"We would have to jump into a portal to get to the dimension." Fate replied smiling. I look at her quietly.

"Okay but where is this place?" I ask.

"I am going to surprise you," she says, then grabs me by my arm.

"Close your eyes" Fate says loudly then everything turns to white.

As me and Fate talk about 101 basics in magick and spells in the middle of this forest which happens to be in the middle of what is the physical plane and the mental plane, which makes me wonder what this place is even called I start thinking about Mom and Dad and everyone who has died in order to protect me in a way to help to defeat Ghost and his army of monsters.

"Johnny, are you okay?" Fate asks as she waves her hand in front of me.

"I am okay, I am just still upset about all of our friends and family dying in this bloodstained war between us and Ghost and his army," I answered as a single tear of agony fell from my blood red eyes. Fate sighs and looks at me.

"Johnny, I understand how you feel, but right now we need to focus on saving the cosmos and for that to happen, we need to train and fight for those who we lost, do you understand?" Fate asks. I nod and wiping that single tear from my eye and then standing up.

In one week, I will be fighting against my enemy, Ghost. We are driving to New York to where the final battle will be and I am nervous. What happens if I die like the other lives that have lived before me? What will happen?

"Okay so here's the plan, the battle will be in a public place where he plans to drag us into. But what he does not know is that we will be ready," Fate says as she drives down the highway and on our way to New York.

"Let's hope we can win," I say, sighing softly. Fate looks at me then back at the road.

"You and I know that we will win Johnny, just have faith and we will get through this in the end," she says smiling.

"Even when the bad times will come to the both of us," Fate says with signs that she is hiding something in the tone in her voice, and yes, the bad times where I might lose more people that I care about, what will happen to both me and Fate?

"I hope you are right Fate, I just do not want to lose you too," I say, just needing to relax. As we drive down the highway, we see cop cars on the side of the road, and it looks like some sort of accident happened. As we looked in closer our jaws dropped. It was none other than Randy Forbes himself.

"How the Hell is he here?" I ask in fear.

"Ghost or some other demon must've turned him, that's why he was found dead," Fate says, just trying to calm me down. Watching Fate, she then starts to drive as quickly and calmly as we could to avoid him and the cops.

"Well, hello there my dear friends! I did not think I would've seen you guys again," Randy says in telepathy. Fate glares down the road as she drives down it much quicker than before.

"Just ignore him Johnny, he is just trying to kill time before he catches up to us," Fate says as she tightens her grip on the steering wheel. I look at her and then down at the road, looking at the rear-view mirror I see something blurred, and then my eyes widened. Randy was just about to jump on top of the car as he was racing with his vampire speed, trying to catch up with us.

"Fate, we got company," I say as we both look into the car mirror and see her eyes widen like mine did.

"I am aware of that Johnny; I am just about to make my move against Randy" she says groaning.

"What is going to happen now Fate?" I ask, trying to shake the fear off of me.

"This is probably vampire territory, Ghost probably took over this one location so we could get stuck having to fight against his loyal followers," Fate explains as she starts to really speed when we heard Randy just about to jump on the car.

"We got to do something!" I scream.

"I got an idea," she says as she then starts to slow down a bit. Okay we are supposed to speed up not slow down!

"Fate my dear, you are so pathetic! Trying to let me catch you like a cat to a rat!" he yells as he jumps on top of the car. As soon as he did that, Fate stops the car at a halt and watches him fall forward off the car and in front of it at arm's length.

"Okay now I will take care of him," Fate says, then gets out of the car. I hope Fate makes it through this.

"John, get in the driver's seat and drive out of here, I will be on my way," she said quickly.

"But what will happen to you?" I ask Fate. Fate then leans forward and kisses on the lips.

"Johnny, I love you but you need to focus on what needs to be done, and that's to free Vlad from Ghost's possession and defeat Ghost's army as well as Ghost himself," Fate explains, then stepping out of the car and me jumping into the driving seat and driving away from Randy and Fate. Knowing that Fate can be the most powerful witch that I have ever known, I just hope that Fate makes it through that fight with Randy safe and sound. As I keep on driving, I start seeing spirits. These spirits were all over the place and I kept going through them as I sped down the highway trying to make a good distance between me and Randy. I had a bad feeling that Fate was in trouble, but I know I need to have faith in her. I just need to believe in her...no matter.

"Johnny," Fate calls out in telepathy.

"Fate, please tell me you are okay!" I shout in telepathy with fright in the tone of my voice. She takes a deep breath and sighs.

"I am afraid not Johnny, I am sorry," she answers quietly. I look out at the road as I drive, and I start to feel tears rolling down my cheeks. The stinging feeling of the tears did not compare to the pain in my heart. Not another friend- especially not someone that I loved more than anything. I thought we were going to make it through this! We were going to be together! No…

"I will always be there by your side and no matter what I love you Johnny, please do not forget that," Fate says then silence rolls down into my mind and as I keep on driving, I see Fate's spirit for a brief moment. First dad, then Father Moore and Hope, then my own mother and now my love Fate. I stop the car at a halt, and I get out. I scream and shout loudly as the pain in my soul just cringes in pure pain and anger.

"Why is this happening?" I scream out loudly as I fall onto my knees and then feel tears form into waterfalls falling down my cheeks and then as I cry, the skies turned black and it started to rain and raining down hard and fast. The pain overwhelmed me and as this time ticked into the future, I felt frozen inside, the cold in my chest was like death trying to take me down too. I cannot let it get near me. Never will I let death come again! I get up and glare at the skies in pure rage.

"I will get back at you, death, even if you try to take me down as well!" I scream then walk back into the car and close the door. Driving down the road again I become numb and I think long and hard on what to do for the end of the week to come with me and the monster that started everything. Me and Ghost. I will kill you Ghost! Under no circumstances will I let you live...

I am now in a local village in Long Island, New York. It is peaceful and everyone is enjoying themselves. I smile as I look up at the sky, the sun shines so bright and all I can think of is how my loved ones are doing on the other side. As I look down as I walk along the side of the streets, I see a girl that looks just like Fate, my eyes widen from the speed of how fast my heart is beating. All I can think of was if that really were Fate--I would love to hold her in my arms. The girl stares straight at me and she smiles then walks into a cafe, without thinking I follow her into the cafe, and I see her sitting down at one of the tables. She looks up at me.

"I am just a witch that needs your attention, come sit down," she says, smiling in telepathy. Then as soon as I walk towards her everything stops- it is like time has stopped dead in its tracks.

"It is better this way so we can talk without interruptions," she explains as she sits and looks up at me. I walk over and I sit across from her. She then takes a deep breath and goes into her pocket and takes out a slip of paper.

"This piece of paper is an invitation to an art show, it'll be the location to the final battle to where you will be fighting again my Lord Ghost," she states then lays it on the table and then vanishes and time goes back to once it came.

"You better show up or Lord Ghost will send his army to strike at the humans and just let his servants kill you themselves," the witch says in telepathy. Then it becomes silent. I look at the piece of paper and it says the Huntington art center at seven O'clock. I have to be there--or the humans will be in immediate danger. I cannot let that happen- I will not. I get up and I walk out of the cafe back to the car and get over to the art center- where I will be fighting against him. Ghost himself.

It is six-thirty and I see everyone is getting ready for the art show. I need to be ready- for whatever happens-

"Do not worry Hon, it'll be okay," Fate says next to me. I look at her in the passenger seat and I smile. She knows me too well.

"You know it all, do n't you?" I ask, smiling as she giggles softly then vanishes. After a moment I become serious and then getting out of the car, walking to the center and walking in, I see the art and it is so dark and they look like events that were played out in sequences on how the artwork was placed. They just do not add up-

"Hello everyone! And thank you all for coming to this fabulous art show, today we will be introducing a newly talented artist." He says then continues on.

"He has come a long way and he was born and raised in California, he has the ability to see the dead and was born as an albino--please welcome, Johnathon Haven Stone!" Okay this is not good. He is talking about me! And as soon as he finished that last sentence- the lights went out and everybody started to scream. I look around and I see vampires attacking the humans. This is not good, they are already in battle. I run towards the door and I see the lights hit back on. There at the door I see none other than Ghost himself. He smiles wickedly and then walks toward me in a charging mode- I jump back to avoid his attacks but it is useless as he is twice as fast as me. As he tried to hit me, I made energy markers in certain areas around him and I backed away at a far distance.

"Angel formation!" I yell out and as soon as he tries to jump at me, he falls back and onto the ground and hisses in anger.

"What is this spell?" he demands to know. I smile small and I look at him in pity.

"I called on the angels that guard the four watchtowers of the holy lands of the physical plane and the ether world. It is just temporary, but it is enough time for me to find a way to defeat you-" I say but get cut off when someone cuts off the barrier that was around Ghost.

"Finally, you get me out of that disgusting bind!" Ghost yells at one of his witches. It is the same witch that gave me the invitation earlier. She looks at me and smiles.

"I was only allowed to live up until this battle, goodbye John," she says to me. Ghost then walks over to her and snaps her neck and as I watched with wide eyes as she fell down and laid there motionless. He would kill his own people. What is he?

"She was useless compared to Trina, no one compared to my first witch," he says as he looks up at me. I started to back up away from him. Okay what are my plans? What can I do with the devil's star and with witches that can come at any moment?

"What are you waiting for John?" a familiar voice asks loudly. I look behind me and I see it is that guy from the park.

"Fight!" he yells loudly then vanishes into thin air. I looked at my hands and I knew I had to. There was no other option really. I raise my hand towards him, and I close my eyes.

"Do not forget, the Gods have your back in the ring of fire," I have to do this!

"I won't run, I will fight you Ghost! No matter what," I say loudly. Then manifesting fire in my hands

"Crimson fire, burning bright, surrounds my enemy with mars' raging light!" I shout as I cast the spell out loud, surrounding Ghost in the ring of the body of mars. But there is the consequence to this particular binding spell- I would lose one part of my body until I undo the spell of summoning the ring of fire. I can go without my right arm for now. Until I can find out a better solution for defeating Ghost.

"I never told you my story now did I?" that man calls out from behind me. I turn around and I look at him with curiosity.

"Ghost when he first possessed Vlad in the far past and turned me into this monster, then left me in a cemetery to die, but I did actually wake up, only to lose control and kill a caretaker when I fully awakened as a vampire, he only did it to spit on the name of Bloodstone clan and for that I want revenge," he explains.

"I will help you defeat Ghost, at any cost, because in these last moments in this battle--" he says, but then pauses for a moment.

"We're going to need to do what hunters think is impossible,"

"What would that be?" I ask him.

"If you become what he is--he can become what you are, you will switch the race," he explains. I will become a vampire in order for him to become a vampire. I hiss out in pain as the burns on my arm become worse with the longer the ring of fire has been raised up for.

"Okay but how do we do that?" I ask in pain. He looks at me quietly.

"I have a spell we can use, do not worry I know how to cast it," he says then places his hand on my head.

"Dear Goddess, give me your strength," he says, then his hand starts to glow with white light and the white light goes into my body.

"Give us the power to exchange our inner selves--the bodies you have given us and for this we would be grateful, so mote it be," he says finishing the spell.

"Amen," I say out loud as well. He takes his hand off my head and he looks at me.

"Oh, and I have a habit of introducing myself, my name is Derek Ian Bloodstone, but people usually call me Ian," he says smiling. I smile at him and I take his hand.

"I guess I will introduce myself once again," I say smiling.

"My name is John," I say looking at him. His eyes widened then became calm.

"In order to do this we got to pretend that I am swearing an oath to him and that he should try to turn you into a vampire, let me do the talking and work with me here, you have to fight against me when I try and I will do my best to convince him to turn you," he explains. I nod and then all of a sudden, he grabs me by the shoulder and forces my arms behind my back. Then as we walk, I lower the fire, we walk into the ring of fire and I raise it again as he pretends to force me into it. Ghost turns his eyes towards both me and Ian sees me and as he then looks at Ian and his eyes widen.

"Well, well--soldier of the ottoman empire! Derek Ian Bloodstone, how much of a great timing it is to see you again," he says in irritation.

"My lord it is good to see you again too, you see I was hoping we could use this man for a bonding," Ian explains to Ghost, he then smiles as he holds me down.

"We can join forces by turning our enemy into our own race," he says as my eyes widen and I glare at Vlad. But just pretending to.

"I refuse! You cannot turn me into the monster that you are! I won't let you!" I scream loudly.

"Are you sure Ian? I mean this is a pretty large surprise coming from you," Ghost says, giving a wicked smile. I try to fight against Ian's hold to make it look real. It is working!

"It is the perfect plan for our enemy! We can keep him as our- no, as your own pet!" Ian says snickering. Ghost looks at me and his eyes grow dark.

"Okay but I do the honors," he says then grabs me by the throat. Then leaning down, he then takes a bite into my neck. It stings immediately as he slowly drinks my blood, I try and fight against it but I then slowly blackout.

This taste. Is it what I think it is? Opening my eyes, I find myself drinking blood from Vlad's body and all I can do is show Ghost who is possessing Vlad's body at the moment by pushing him away from him.

"What is the matter, dear John?-" asks Ghost but then becomes silent as he notices something is different.

"What is this feeling in my chest?" he asks in fright. I smile at him and then break the terrible news to him.

"You are a human Ghost," I say to Ghost as he then snaps.

"No!" Ghost shouts in anger. Looking at Ian, we then look at Cain walking up to us.

"You both better be fast before the other hunters think you are in business with Ghost," Cain says. Looking at each other. Me and Ian nod and leave.

"Hey Ian,

"Yeah, John?"

"You wanna grab a bite to eat?"
