The beginning of the end

"Dad, I don't know about this..." Wave said with some hesitance in his tone.

"Have some confidence! It's the last thing on the list, have I lead you astray before?" His father nonchalantly responded as they had procured every ingredient except the milk.

"Well no, it's just... this is pretty ridiculous even factoring in our standards of absurdity."

"Son, sometimes you just have to not worry about it and accept things as they come." Hessian said with some wisdom and a smile of rememberance.

Wave just stared at his father for a moment before turning to their current target. "Well, dad... were talking about milking that!" he pointed towards the giant unicorn like monster called a Kirin.

Wave noticed his father wasn't responding so he turned his head but noticed he was gone. There seemed to be an outline of his father blinking in and out of existence indicating that he was gone.

"What are you waiting for son! We got a lightning unicorn to milk!" Hessian yelled causing his son to snap back to the Kirin who was currently trying to shake his father off from it's underside.

Wave found it difficult to express his words."I... aarrggh, whatever!"With a sigh of acceptance, Wave ran towards the giant monster wondering how they were gonna milk it.

Have you ever been to the beach and just decided to float around in the water? Well that's pretty much what I'm doing right now.

My sister and I were currently out at sea, chilling in the water. Amber was lounging on some kind of pool bed with a drink while I decided to just float around in the waters.

I gotta say, this is an odd feeling. It's not much different from what I usually do in the abyss except... it just feels strange. But then again the waters of the abyss is literally just an amalgamation of anguished souls squished together.

This sea water on the other hand... I can't say I dislike this feeling. Floating around, no ever-present wails of the damned.

No feeling of squirms or shimmers of the dead.

No creepy foreboding chill in my body.

Just letting the waves do it's thing as I go with the flow.

On a side note, one might be wondering what exactly am I doing out in the ocean sea with my sister and where our parents are.

One might also be wondering why there is literally a giant wall of ice blocking the shoreline.

HOURS EARLIER.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU~! I FORGOT THE REST OF THE LYRICS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" The family members sang around a birthday cake that doubled as a campfire.

For whatever reason, Wave's family decided to sing a birthday song despite his slight embarrassment from watching the three attempting to sing a song that they don't remember the words to.

They had all finished their share of ingredient hunting and baked the cake together. It was an odd, yet fun experience as Wave had never cooked food before. In the past he always requested food from either Onyx or someone else.

The night continued on as Hessian started drinking with Ereshkigal.

"OHHH ERESH~! YOU'RE SO FINE! YOU'RE SO FINE YOU BLOW MY MIND~!" Hessian started singing drunkenly to everyone's amusement, yet Ereshkigal had a wry smile as if she had seen this before.

"YOUR LOVE TAKING ME HIGHERRRR~! HIGHERRR~!" Wave wondered how his father could get drunk considering his physique was probably much more incredible than his own, which meant that getting intoxicated should be near impossible with such a small amount of liquor. He grabbed a bottle to inspect, he actually tried a bottle before but it did nothing to him.

Hessian noticed his son's curiousity and smiled. "YoU ShEE SON!" he slurred his words slightly before adjusting himself. "YA JUST GOTTA BELIEVE IT WORKS AND IT DOES!"

Wave took note of his father's words. Perhaps there is some merit to them considering his father actually does seem drunk at the moment. Perhaps he'll try another time, for now he put the bottle back down. In the past when he tried it, he didn't like the taste.

"Hessian dear, perhaps it's time for you to turn in for the night." Ereshkigal said as it was getting late and was afraid of what he might do when drunk.

Hessian turned to his wife for a moment and smiled drunkenly before jumping on her.

"KYAH!" Ereshkigal shrieked in surprise as he straddled her and looked down at her from above.

Hessian stared deep into her eyes for a moment before muttering. "You're so beautiful." Was all he said before diving into a deep kiss.

"Mmmph!" Ereshkigal was pinned down, completely surprised by the sudden advance.

"Were leaving." Wave felt the back of his shirt tugged as his sister dragged him out to the sea and away from the shore.

Amber muttered some words as pages lit up around her. Spell formations laid themselves across the shoreline.

*RUMBLE sfx* A massive wall of ice spanning miles rose up to the sky and obscured the view.

So yah, my sister and I decided to chill out in sea while our parents got intimate with each other. It's already daytime and she hasn't taken down the wall yet.

"Those two are still at it. Seriously of all the times for this shit." Amber grumbled without opening her eyes. Maybe she could feel them going at it, I dunno my senses were never that widespread.

I mean I can see peoples souls if I looked closely at someone. Which is honestly kind of weird, but it's something.

"It's alright. I think we should be happy that our parents are so loving to each other. Although their relationship is honestly kind of odd." I admitted at the end. I've heard the stories of my dad's sexual escapades. Mainly because dad talked about them a lot. Was kind of weird, but also kind of cool.

Strangely enough, the only thing Mom ever put her foot down to was when another deity was involved. She didn't really care much as long as it wasn't a god that dad set his sights on.

"It leaves a weird ending to what was supposed to be your special day. Wouldn't it irk you?" She asked with a questioning tone.

I mean, she's not wrong. It sorta irks me but not much."I guess it's sort of weird, but I had fun yesterday. Getting to spend time with people you're close to. I like to think that these are the memories I'll look back on some day." I said fondly. Sometimes when I don't have much to do, I like to look back on happy times.

Amber became silent at that. We just floated around in silence, enjoying the calm waves.

"By the way, how's the company doing?" I asked out of the blue, making conversation.

"It's doing fine, regardless of what you think of 21, she's been the head of sales and distribution for about 10 years now." Amber replied with clear trust in her tone. I guess it's true that 21 had been around even when my dad was still the CEO.

"I guess you're right. It's just, she's sort of not what I expected considering her personality seems a bit different from what I remember in the games." I remember she seemed so pure and nice in game besides her evil side.

"That's because she's actually older than what you've seen of her in games."

"That makes sense I suppose. Still I didn't expect her to be so... open to sucking me off whenever she needs sustenance. She hasn't even suggested taking blood." I'm honestly surprised of how little reservations she has about that.

"You can't really blame her for that, it's actually our old man's fault."

"It is? Surely he couldn't have been that much of an influence on her when she worked under him." I said skeptically.

"Right, you don't know yet." She actually took off her sunglasses and glanced over at me for a moment. "You know our dad has his own religion called Hessianism right?"

"Yeah, he's mentioned it before in his stories." It was the reason I actually got into anime and stuff. Dad's stories about his adventures through realities made me want to see them for myself.

"Well it's main following are monster girls and since we're his children, we have a minor 'blessing' when it comes to dealing with anything that looks human but isn't actually human. Specifically females." Wait what?

"Anything that looks like a human female but not completely human or not human at all will have positive feelings towards us. Be warned, it applies to those with dicks too, so you might want to watch out for that."

"...So dad's seriously a sex god!?" I asked in realization of why professor 21 was so open about sexual things.

"Pretty much. I visited his heavenly realm a few times when I turned 18. You can only take so many orgies with monster girls and angels before it gets old." She rolled her eyes and spoke boredly as if she really just got tired of it.

"I'm beginning to question my possible relationships in the future now with this 'blessing'." I stated honestly. Amber looks like she's been completely desensitized now, oh god what's gonna happen to me!?

"Relax, all it does it make them more open to casual sex. It doesn't make them love you or anything unless they are exposed to you for too long, plus it only applies to non-humans. Note that androids, zombies, spirits and artificially created things like homonculi apply." She said with a slight grimace when she mentioned zombies.

I stayed silent for a time to process this. Also zombies? You can do a zombie?! Isn't that unsanitary or something?!

My mind continued to speculate the whole zombie thing for awhile with questions plaguing my mind for the rest of the day.

*Cough* Hessian coughed out loud in front of his son after he had finished his time of intimacy with his wife.

The two were currently standing in an odd unknown space. The surroundings didn't look like a world or anything. It just looked like a dimension of nothing.

"Well son, I've finally finished it." Hessian declared with a smile. He had dragged Wave to another dimension after realizing that he hadn't given his gift yet.

"It?" His son blinked unsure of what he was talking about.

Noticing his confusion. "Your gamer system!" he reminded a little indignant that his own son forgot that he was working on it.

"Oh, oh yeah! I forgot about that." Wave honestly said as it had been nearly a year since he had asked for that.

"You wound me! My own son is forgetting his old man's efforts!" Hessian responded dramatically with a hand over his heart. "But anyway, I have worked on this for months now and I guarentee it's quality!"

Raising his hand, a ball with a kaleidoscope of colors appeared above his palm. The ball of myriad light pulsed out a soft glow that gave off a feeling boundless power.

Wave was silent as an unknown feeling rose up within him.

Taking his silence as awe, Hessian continued. "The moment you receive this, you will be melded with the omniverse itself. It will allow you the ability for easy alterations of your body along with an easy path to ultimate power. However in turn, you will never reach the level of a R.O.B. The R.O.B.s are not gods, while there are powerful gods that impersonate themselves as them by sending people to other realities, they are ultimately not real R.O.B.s. There is a difference in existence between them that can only be realized once you reach that stage."

"If the circumstances were different, I would have never agreed to making this for you." If there were any other options, he would have taken them. Unfortunately Hessian himself couldn't become a R.O.B. as he wasn't from this Omniverse. However he felt that even if he could, it wouldn't have made much difference.

Wave continued his silence as he stared at the ball of light.

"Now, you may feel slightly disoriented at first but keep calm." Hessian slowly moved the ball containing the power of the Gamer towards his son.

The light inched closer towards his chest, bit by bit.

*CRACK* The moment the light was about to make contact, a small crack sounded out from Wave's left arm.

*SHATTER sfx* The petrified left arm shattered apart. The next moment Hessian felt his wrist trapped by a vice-like grip.

The offending arm was covered in a rocky carapace that fell apart, leaving a smooth dark arm.

Hessian watched his son raise his gaze. His eyes glinted with molten light.

"You overestimate yourself immortal." The RiftMaster Aversis spoke.
