14 Chapter 14: Vow
Just as Calix thought that he would finally get a 'little revenge', Klein easily took care of his 'effort'
Just where did this Klein get that ability of his? Why is it so easy for him to think of a remark for everything that Calix would say?
"A jealous man's words were really unpleasant to hear" Calix insinuated while hoping that Klein wouldn't be able to think of any reply
Unfortunately, it didn't even take that long before Klein answered
"Yeah, just like the truth" Klein retorted in a tone filled with contempt
The atmosphere was once again filled with gunpowder and it was Liam that became uncomfortable with it
"Aish, I can't take it anymore!" Liam whined while standing up from his seat to sit next to Tristan
However, the long chairs were only enough for three people. Although Liam has a small build, he still felt cramp when he squeezed in
Liam can even feel some pain since it wasn't his whole buttocks that were sitting in the chair
"What's with this chair? I can feel it in my bones!" Liam said with a frown and Shane giggled at that
"That's because you don't have any meat in your butt!"
Being reminded of how flat he was, Liam became furious but he also starts thinking that that might really be the reason
If Liam has more meat in his buttocks, it would serve as a cushion and he wouldn't feel the chair hitting his bones
But Liam still glared at Shane that was just smiling at him. It didn't take that long though as something blocked Liam's vision
It was Tristan's body that is much larger than Liam's body. Just the torso alone already filled Liam's vision
Liam was still thinking of how unfair the world is when he felt that his body was being moved sideways and the person on his right side is now Shane instead of Tristan
As for Tristan, he sat on the remaining small space silently
Turns out that Tristan stood up from his seat to exchange with Liam
"Wow, my silent yet gentle friend is on it again!" Cain said in a teasing tone but Tristan didn't even give him a glance
The guy just sat in the small space that can't hold his whole body silently as if it doesn't even hurt him
"A-are you okay? You don't need to do that. My body is smaller and it's easier for me to sit there" Liam asked out of worry but the expression on his face looks like he was also unwilling to give up his much comfortable seat
This time, an image of a kid that tried to share his food even though it was his favorite entered Tristan's mind but his face was still as stoic as before
"It's fine" Tristan replied and Liam's face betrayed him as he looks relieved at that
"Then thank you!" Liam said happily and Tristan only replied with a "hm"
"Your voice is nice, why aren't you talking more?" Liam asked curiously before he blinked his eyes repeatedly in the next second as Tristan moved his head to the opposite side of him
Liam thought that Tristan was offended and he decided that he should not get too nosy. After all, the two of them don't have many interactions with each other
They were acquaintances at most, they are not at the level of friends yet
What Liam didn't realize was that the tip of Tristan's ears turned red
"Hahaha don't compliment him like that. That guy is quiet most of the time but he easily get shy"
Hearing Cain, Liam can't help but furrow his brows. Tristan? Shy?
Liam stared at Tristan from head to toe. It was quite hard to believe that a guy with this kind of build and is always expressionless is shy
Still, it's not good to judge a book by its cover and Liam just shrugs his shoulders at that
"Wow, he is so kind. He even gave up his seat for Liam. I hope that someone here will also give up his seat to sit on another table" Klein said loud enough for Calix to hear
The space between the two was large thanks to Liam's absence. However, they were still sitting on the two ends of the long chair with their bags in the middle
It was like it would sully themselves if they get too close with each other
They simply feel mutual disdain that was written clearly in their faces
In Klein's eyes, it was always Calix that is starting a fight and he would just fight back
With Klein's attitude, he naturally won't let that continue to happen. Klein never likes being in the weaker position
If he only passively fight back whenever Calix would open his stinky mouth, it might make him look weak which is not allowed
Thus, this time, it was Klein that deliberately started another war between them
"Seems like someone's mood is still sour from too much jealousy" Calix said coldly. He doesn't know what to say but he also doesn't want to lose for the nth time
As a result, Calix can only use the earlier incident as his weapon
"Seems like someone still has a brain that doesn't function well"
The two were about to start a war again but thankfully, their order finally arrived and the waitress placed them into their table
It didn't take that long before the table was filled with different dishes that were still hot
All of them looks delicious and the six hungry people start eating
"You're only eating that?" Cain asked Shane that only ordered a single slice of lasagna
"Don't judge me, I have a boyfriend now, I can't gain weight" Shane answered while rolling her eyes
"Baby, even if you get fat I would still like you" Cain said sweetly but Shane only rolled her eyes at that
"Yeah, yeah and hell is cold"
Shane clearly didn't believe Cain's words. After all, most men would say that to sweet talk women but they don't really mean it
Shane has too many dating experiences for her to believe Cain easily. Besides, they just met not too long ago. They still don't know a lot of things about each other
The six starts eating while chatting with each other from time to time. The foods were to their liking and the lovebirds even tried to schedule another 'group date' which Calix and Klein immediately refused
Both Klein and Calix can eat a lot but since they are eating with each other, they lose their appetite. Once is fine and twice is too much!
The people that normally eat several servings of food only ate one because of the other's presence
When the six were almost done eating, another waitress approached them and gave Klein a milkshake
"I'm sorry but I didn't order this"
Klein thought that the waitress made a mistake but she shook her head
"That guy over there ordered it for you" the waitress said while pointing at a guy looking at Klein in the corner
The guy was quite handsome and neat-looking. He looks a bit shy with his actions but he still tried to look as pleasant as possible in Klein's eyes
Klein thinks that it would make the guy lose face if he refuses and he can only mouth a 'thank you' while smiling in a friendly manner
Klein sees how the guy's cheeks turned red before nodding his head
There was a paper attached in the milkshake and Klein read what was written in it
[Hi, I don't know if you swing this way but I really think that you are cute. This is my number 09 *********. Hoped you would like the milkshake ^_ ^]
Although Klein doesn't really think about dating, for now, he still put the paper inside his bag since the guy looks kind and sincere
But Shane of course wouldn't easily let this slide as she smiled teasingly at Klein
"My friend is really popular! Look how you caught another guy"
If Shane would tease Klein, Cain would naturally tease Calix too
"My friend on the other hand is too slow. If he doesn't do something about his attitude, Klein might be snatch away from him" Cain said with a sigh while looking at Calix that glared at him
"Nothing's wrong with my attitude unlike a certain someone here" Calix replied unhappily
It was Klein's fault okay? If he didn't pester him, Calix would treat him politely. But since Klein also 'likes' Calix because of his looks, Calix wouldn't want to have any interaction with him
"One's flaw is really invisible to their own eyes" Klein said with a sigh before taking a sip from his free milkshake
"Look, I got a free milkshake but I don't think that everyone would like me. Someone in this table on the other hand..." Klein trailed off while shaking his head and Calix had an urge to throw the milkshake into Klein's face
One day, one day Calix would also win against Klein. He would make sure that day would come!
