1 Chapter 1: Start
Have you ever had times when you asked yourself things like "How could this be?" while your mind tried to deny what your eyes were already proving?
That is the exact same thing that Klein was currently experiencing
Standing among a crowd of people, Klein read the two most painful lines in his life
Top 1: Calix Blythe Strousse
Top 2: Klein Arceus Ferrer
Those two lines felt particularly glaring for him. He can't nor want to believe what he was currently seeing
While still in a state of disbelief, Klein rubs his eyes before looking at the large board that has a long list of people that consists of the top 100 students of Stanford University
He, Klein Arceus Ferrer has always been the top 1 whether it be in elementary, junior high school, or senior high school
Now, he is already a first-year college student and the preliminary exams just finished a few days ago. He never thought that he would be push down from his throne at the top and become the number 2
Despite rubbing his eyes, when Klein looks at the board, the spot of top 1 and 2 still haven't change
Unwilling to believe it, Klein rubs his eyes again and again and again. To his grief, the result was still the same
He is really only the number 2. If it was just that, Klein would only get hurt and receives a painful blow in his prideful self
However, the ranking this time was really important for him! He can't believe he didn't achieve the first place and he can only shudder at the consequences this thing would have
"Seems like our smart Mr. Klein here was defeated by a person he called stupid. If the top 1 is stupid then what about the top 2? Is he even worse than stupid? That makes me feel like he might have a pea brain" a voice filled with ridicule entered Klein's ears causing his face to turn red from both embarrassment and anger
When Klein turned his head towards the voice's source, his eyes flickered with even more anger
Standing at 6'2 in height, the Number 1 in the rankings Calix Blythe Strousse himself has arrived!
His dazzling golden hair was combed upwards revealing a spotless forehead that looks as if it doesn't have even the slightest bit of flaw
His silver-colored eyes were glowing in delight as his reddish lips were curled upwards in a mocking smile
His face doesn't have the slightest bit of stain in it and can be considered perfect. Klein himself was not ugly and he is very handsome but he still felt like he is being overshadowed by this man
If there is a person that Klein deeply hated that would be this Calix. How he wishes he can wipe the floor with the smug face of Calix!
Sensing the air around the two getting hotter, the audience around moved by themselves creating a weird scene where only two people were standing while being surrounded by tens of people
In the whole Stanford University, almost no one doesn't know that these two are like oil and water
Both of them are easygoing and have a good relationship with the people around them. However, these easygoing people will immediately bare their fangs whenever they meet
It was both a headache and eye candy for the people that will watch them. After all, who would always want to see people fighting and bickering with each other?
However, these two are really handsome. They might be the top 1 and 2 in terms of appearance in the whole University
Klein was only shorter a bit at 5'11 in height, infinitely close to 6 feet. If Calix has golden hair and silver eyes, he was the complete opposite
Klein has silver hair and golden eyes. Calix has more of a masculine air around him while Klein looks both like an adorable cutie and a hunk
In terms of skin and complexion, Klein was smoother than even a baby. He has an air around him that makes people feel that he was a pampered young master but not in an arrogant way
If a person likes the more masculine type, they would stan Calix. However, if they want the cutie with a babyface, they would choose Klein
They both have distinct charms that were able to swallow the hearts of both girls and gays
Even if the two are always fighting, their appearance causes people to treat it like a movie
"Say, did you lost to me on purpose so that I'll order you to do what I want? Aren't you the smartest that was always at the top?" Calix continued with his merciless mockery not minding how furious Klein becomes
"Who would want to be ordered by an arrogant bastard like you?!" Klein barked back. The man in front of him has always been like this
He always thought that Klein was in love with him which was simply absurd! Even if a day comes where there are only the two of them in the world, Klein would never ever fall in love with this arrogant man that thinks too highly of himself!
"I don't know, maybe the man that always followed and tried to make me notice him?" Calix asked back causing Klein to adorably roll his eyes
If it was other people, Klein can just beat them up. Too bad that this bastard was physically stronger than him
"Stop your delusions! I lost the bet, just tell me your order!"
Klein has lost too much patience already. He doesn't want to talk with Calix for a longer period of time
"Since you really want me to notice you, you succeeded. For the remaining duration of the first semester, you'll bring me lunch every day that you personally made"
Klein's whole body almost spasmed at that. He doesn't even want to have any interaction with this man, yet he needs to cook food for him?
Please, why don't you just kill him?!
"What did you say?!" Klein asked in a shouting manner. They have classes early in the morning. Where would he have the time to personally cook?
Klein is already not a morning person and he hates classes that are too early. Not to mention, it was for the whole semester!
The preliminaries just finish. There's still the midterms and finals! That means Klein needs to wake up so early that the sun still hasn't risen for the duration of a few months
Torture! This is simply torturing! This Calix is really heartless
"Do I really need to repeat my words? Since you want to spend time with me so badly, I'll be benevolent and give you the chance" Calix said smugly and Klein wished an asteroid will enter the earth and hit the stupid person in front of him
Klein starts massaging his temples. Dealing with Calix always makes his head ache
"Look, Mr. Strousse, I don't nor would I catch any feelings for you in the future. Please stop being delusio--.. ehem stop misunderstanding me"
Despite Klein's explanation, Calix didn't believe him in the slightest
"Yeah, yeah and pigs can fly. Whether you are a man of your words or not, that would depend on your performance" Calix said before turning his back and walking away
The implication of his words was that "You lost the bet. It's up to you to honor it or not but if you don't, you'll humiliate yourself"
In anger, Klein stomped his feet in the ground while glaring at Calix's retreating back
If he would be able to go back in time, Klein will make sure to not commit several mistakes in the past
The root cause for this headache of his went back a bit more than a month ago

August 14 the Year 2022
Stanford University
The new term only started a week ago. To celebrate it, the university held an event
Tons of booths were opened by the students. There were some that sell foods, drinks, or even let the students play games
The atmosphere was bustling. Hundreds of people can be seen having fun with each other
They eat, drink, and laugh. Enjoying the youth of their life
Some were even having a date. The boys want to show off while the girls giggled at the silliness of their date
Too bad that those fun things are currently not accessible for Klein
The temperature was not that hot today but Klein was sweating heavily
He was standing in front of a stove while holding a frying pan in his left hand and a spatula in his right
Inside the pan was a stir fry noodle he was currently cooking. His soft white skin has bullets of sweat in them while a look of bitterness can be seen on his face
"Argh come on, why am I assigned as a cook while the others are having fun?" Klein muttered in injustice
His classmates learned that he had several cooking and baking classes in the past. Since their booth was a part of their grade, he was assigned to be the cook
They said that delicious foods created by a handsome man would surely attract a lot of attention
They are not exactly wrong as there were really a lot of people that ate in their booth while fawning at him
However, although the weather is not hot but if you are standing in front of an open stove, you would still feel unbearably hot
Not to mention, Klein was even wearing a disgusting pink apron with a logo of rabbit in it
His classmates justified this apron, saying that it would amplify his charms
While drenched in sweat, Klein grabs a plate and put the stir fry noodles he just cooked in it
After that, he handed it to one of his classmates responsible for serving the food to the customers
"Argh, I'm exhausted" Klein complained while taking a chair and sat on it
Klein hates hot places the most. He would rather freeze to death than die from too much perspiration
With eyes filled with jealousy, Klein watches the people outside his booth having fun while he is here, suffering in the heat
Coincidentally, Klein's eyes landed on a pair of man and woman. The man has dazzling golden hair and was extremely tall
His face was very handsome and Klein was surprised a bit. He had never seen such a handsome face before. Even models paled in comparison to his looks
However, Klein only stared at him for a while before his gaze landed on the girl that looks like a dog wagging her tail
From the looks of things, it seems like the girl was trying her best to get close to the handsome man
Klein was about to move his gaze away from them before his eyes landed on the girl's back
He saw a pink-colored bag causing his eyes to glow. Klein has a sister a few years younger than him and based on that girl's taste, she would surely love to have that bag
Klein has a pleased look on his face while looking at the bag before he sensed someone staring at him. When Klein looks at the source, he saw the handsome man looking at him with narrowed eyes
Klein knew that staring at other people is considered rude and he immediately stops looking
However, it was already too late as the man already misunderstood him
"Hey, Calix. Are you listening?" The girl beside that handsome man asked in a trying hard to be cute kind of voice
That causes Calix to frown and he moved his eyes towards this annoying girl
The glow in the woman's eyes was very familiar to Calix. This was yet another girl that will shout that she loves him but in reality, it was only because of his looks
Calix has received such gaze too many times to count. It comes to the point that he is already tired of it
In annoyance, Calix replied "I'm not" before walking away but the woman still stubbornly followed him
