Chapter 6

[Liam Pov]

There is something wrong Alicia,something very wrong with me.You may have thought I brought you to the park to get close to you and be friends,or much more.Which was my plan,but I got too hungry for your soul,I was supposed to empty your body to fill my own stomach.

[FLASHBACK]

The first time I reaped a soul out,there was no need to be any fighting ,screaming, because under my power you'd be lured into death,but even then it would take violence to take the stubborn souls of humans,and abhorrent bodies left behind.The bodies could have been useful in a way.But what a pity,I'm not blood-thirsty, I just need the souls..the souls.

Different souls have different tastes.Women souls taste much sweeter than men,feel much heavier and keeps me fuelled for a longer period of time,which is why I have a taste for women over men.But all monsters don't have the same taste,even if we are the same kind.

What Monsters?Werewolves,Vampires and zombies?They're just basic children tales to keep you away from the areas the real monsters roam in this world,or to those who have faced us,we may seem like those fairytale monsters but we're much more gruesome than those.

What makes us more gruesome is we are silent killers,and few of us are mythic humanoids,we can take the human form.But all those monsters stay back in the underworld except some.The great master commanded this rule, since the history in which monsters killed colosal amount of humans,and humans retaliated by hunting those monsters, resulted in loss of monsters ,causing an imbalance in the underworld and further worsened by the imbalance in human world.This uspetted our King Typhon and he of course sent the most 'responsible' and strongest of the monsters to find the hunters and bring them to the underworld for their punishment.I wonder how were those human hunters punished,because even we monsters don't know the full picture.I wonder if the human masters ever retaliated.

We monsters barely know anything,even our full potential remains unknown.

I'm proud to say I'm different from the other monsters,my kind need to feed on human souls so we are exempted from staying in the underworld our whole lives,unless the imbalance occurs again.I am a Naihi,we are humanoids,we are one of the only monsters that can take the human form.Our real form would scare away humans and we cannot lure them into taking there souls.I named my human form liam,but my real name is Juan.

When I saw Alicia for the first time,brunette with soft features and a slim figure,Pretty but of course I wasn't attracted to her.She looked up and caught me staring at her,I heard her heart skip a beat ,not a naihi speciality,all monsters can determine heart rate of humans for I guess better accuracy in killing them.

Her heart skipped a beat which means she has already fallen for me,I assume as it has happened many times or she was scared so I had to make sure which.Doesnt matter which,either ways I will lure her to me,and reap her soul now that I've laid my eyes on her,she is my target.If she has already fallen for me It's easier,if not it will be more fun to play the innocent for a longer period.

I waved at her and that's where it all started,she already felt comfortable to ask me the way to the shopping mall.Another feature of Naihi,humans will always feel comfortable with us no matter how we approach them,easy.

"Hey my name is Liam by the way,what is your name?"

"Um,I'm Alicia." She answered

"Pretty." I replied as I deliberately held the eye-contact with her.Her heartbeat raised.

My mind started plotting a plan from that moment on,but shopping mall is not a place to reap her soul,too much attention would be brought,need to take her to the usual place.

For that,I would need to follow her.I've been a bartender,shopkeeper and now I guess I need to be a student,from the looks she seems to be a student.

[FLASHBACK ENDED]

"No nothing is wrong,we'll talk later please leave."I said as I turned away from her

"Liam I actually don't know the way...."Alicia murmerred.

"Then why did you say you know the way!" I shouted,my blood was boiling to the point my human skin may have melted.

"Sorry Alicia,I'm not feeling that well.I'll show you the way." I said.But I did not feel remorse,not even a hint of remorse.Alicia was not a good target,for some reason I couldn't get under her flesh,Why?I don't understand.I dug my nail on her skin but the skin did not burst open easily like the others.Why?I am so hungry but if I can't get under her flesh,flesh so soft but I cannot kill her,then I would not be able to eat her soul.Useless.

We came to a halt near the school.

She was very quiet,no questions thank goodness but unusually I felt uncomfortable with her being so quiet.

"I guess it's goodbye then." I managed to give her a ghost of a smile.

But she just nodded and left,I stood there and was looking at her walk away.Gosh I really want to eat her soul,I could feel her soul when she was laying next to me,It was a quiet ,peaceful soul.

I was hungry,very hungry.
