Chapter 3

Finally the lunch bell rang!About time.

Lining up at the cafeteria line,I couldn't help but look around if he is here,he should be here.But I couldn't see him,I could only see Elena who is standing with me staring at me with a puzzled look on her face,she must have noticed my peculiar behaviour today.

Is he really going to be a student here from now on?

What are the odds that out of all the schools he is now studying in this school?

"Are you going to fill your plate or are you waiting for me to do it for you?"

Elena questioned.

The sudden raise in voice among the voices in the cafeteria startled me.

"Oh sorry,I just lost control on my throughts." I grinned .

I got to stop these thoughts its getting overboard.

After taking our plates and sitting down on the table at the very end of the cafeteria,I bite through the dry handburger and examined the handburger again to make sure it's actually beef but not a sandpaper.

"So you have detention now huh?Why were you late in the first place." Elena asked.

Why was I late in the first place?Because I ran away from a boy when all he did was sit beside me and said my PB&J sandwhich that i was eating must be delicious?Yeah...sounds pretty lame.

"Oh,it's a long story,doesn't matter."I shrugged it off.

"Something seems to be bothering you.Alicia ,I am your best friend what's there to hide from me?" Elena raised her eyebrow at me.

I open my mouth and close again,making my hesitance obvious.

"Okay don't tell me then." Elena frowned.

If I don't tell she would show me an attitude for the whole day and I don't want that,and I do want to clear my thoughts.

I sucked in air and then told her everything about what happened today morning and About Liam and how we supposedly met.

It felt so good to get it out of my chest a little secret of mine.

After I told her Elena gave me this awkward smile that said something like 'Oooooh this is the start of romance' or 'Can you feel the love tonight' lyrics written all over her face.

But I don't think its any of that,I don't think Liam wants that either he probably may just want to be friends or just wants to be nice.

"That boy you spoke of,Liam?Are you waiting for him ?" Elena asked.

"No ,not really,maybe ,I don't know im just curious where he is that's all.I'll tell you about it later."

"I think you should turn about 180 degrees ?"Elena said.

I turn back and see him coming towards me.

"You were waiting for me?Cute ,but why did you run away from me?"He questioned as he sat right beside me,our legs almost touching.

Suddenly I didn't know how to speak anymore.

"Um, well ,I...It was an emergency,Elena had some problem so had to go right away."

Elena was gawking at us stupidly when I thought she would be mad for using her name.

"That your friend?Elena?Well hi I'm Liam."He took his hand out to shake it with Elena's.

Elena just nods and took his hand,gripping it quite long till Liam took his hand away.

"So Alicia you're going to have to make it up to me for running away from me and making me feel sad." Liam said as he pursed his lips.

"Afterschool you're coming with me to the park nearby."He commanded.

"No I'm not I don't know you plus I have detention." I blurted,but that's not what I wanted to say.

"I'm not a stranger I'm your acquaintance as we've met before ,now I'm even your schoolmate so you can't say you don't know me.Come."Liam whispered.

I look up at Elena ,who was mouthing at me 'Why would you say no,go with him!'

because i don't know him duh!But why do I still want to go with him?Why do i feel like accepting the offer even with so much questions in my mind.Maybe if i do hangout with him,my mind could be cleared.I could get to know him.After all,he is my schoolmate.

"But I have detention anyways,so I dont think I can."I told him.

"Oh come on Alicia,don't attempt to pull excuses,I'm sure ..maybe with the help of Elena,we can pull you out if detention.Isn't that right Elena?" He winked at Elena,why does he have to wink?

"Oh yes Alicia we can!" Elena nodded vigorously.

"You should join us too Elena,would be nice to have you as well."Liam suggested.

"Eh thanks ,but maybe we'll hangout another time together,you and Alicia should hangout together in the park,I got stuff to do."Elena said as she gave me an obvious and awkward wink.

"No problem,I guess it's just me and Alicia,so what do you say Alicia?Afterschool to the park?"Liam said as he stared into my eyes,gosh who can deny those eyes?

He does have some power of persuasion,I can't help but agree to go with him,well I really wanted to agree anyways but something is keeping me from doing so.I surpressed the reluctance.I looked at him ,his face is so exuberant yet so blank at the same time you get it?I could see the eagerness in his smile waiting for my reply,but the tension in his face did not compliment the smile..is he nervous?I can't help but smile at the thought of him being nervous.

His face speaks mystery,I am full of curiosity,why not go with him and get to know him?

"Fine,I'll go with you,but I can't stay long just so you know."

"Oh it won't be long at all!" Liam smiled innocently,it just melts me.But the smile left as soon as it formed.
