Chapter 2

"He is always going up to that abandoned manor up on the hill,"

"He is such a weird child,"

"where is he from?"

Some people are talking about a boy around the age of 13 who is wearing dirty clothes and looks haggard.

This is Henry Rin from the Rin clan, which is an influential clan from the large town where they are from. Back home he had no aptitude for sensing mana so he couldn't become a mage and he couldn't become a warrior either since he couldn't sense warrior ki either.

He was born from a servant who was taken advantage of by the clan head when he was drunk. His mother died when he was two and his father barely acknowledged him.

He was even bullied by his big brother and sister, who were only older than him by two months and maternal twins.

In this world mages and warriors are top powers with mages being higher. With the status of a mage one can walk sideways anywhere they can, well based on the rules and who is enforcing it, of course. For example, they can act out in the capital but don't go overboard.

Mages in this world start as an apprentice, mage, senior mage then archmage, and finally wizards but wizards are different because to be a wizard you must master up to 4 elements and can use them proficiently. It is hard to become a wizard because most mages can only cast spells related to their element and learning others is harder.

Warriors follow a similar path and are good with weapons. The warrior ki they practice with enhances their body and senses and the higher they train the stronger they get. They are forced to be reckoned with on the battlefield, and mages are rank higher because they can do more damage.

In the Zamid Empire, there are many schools to teach and train mages and warriors with the most prestigious being the one in the capital called Norland Academy. Named after the capital.

Henry's siblings had the aptitude to become mages, which is a great honor for the clan, and so their father decides to send them to the capital to attend Norland Academy two years later when they turned 15.

Henry at the time got fed up with the bullying and decided to go to the capital early at the age of 13, hoping to do something with his life. He was laughed at when he said and no one tried to stop. In a week, he left. Did I mention he had a fiancé somehow, but since he is no good she will marry his brother instead?

A month later he makes it to the capital safely. After some time he realized things are harder here and he does whatever job he can do. In the middle of March, he went to the manor he usually sleeps at outside the city on the hill, which is a 20-minute walk.

This will be his final time since he came here to commit suicide, and he did. He killed himself with a knife to the heart.
