A Few Weeks Later.
Sheathing both my armoured fists in elemental fire, I used the heat to help soften and tear away a strip of the blackened iron plating that covered the golem I was currently fighting. The horrible sound of metal on metal could be heard bouncing off the earthen ramparts that surrounded the town of Boardoe. I tossed aside the hundred-kilo strip of metallic flesh that I had sundered from the mecha-magical abomination before me. In my periphery, I spotted Luna finish off the last of the goblins she had been mopping up, with a single execution shot to the head of the pitiful creature she had pinned underfoot.
Damn, something about a woman with that sort of brutal efficiency on the battlefield gets me riled up.
"Raaaaaaaaah!!!" The distorted robotic scream that emanated from the incensed automaton in front of me reminded me that we were still mid-combat. "Do it." I sent telepathically to Luna, using the new Combat Engineering skill I had acquired during our second day in town. I felt her affirmation in response as she proceeded to dash and blink forward with her own newest abilities. A final blink helped her launch herself into the air. Now airborne, she did a mid-air pirouette before bringing both spellrods to bear at the exposed core of the golem that had been sitting protected below the armour I had just torn away. Casting a dual set of overcharged blasts, two bright hot lances of magical energy punched through the machine, ending its imitation of life.
The sizeable humanoid creature collapsed backwards before remaining wholly motionless on the ground like the pile of scrap it now resembled. Using my HUD, I checked my map and got no enemy markers on my minimap. "All clear," I said to Luna, who had landed next to me. I returned my gauntlets to my storage, and Luna sheathed her spellrods at her waist.
Thunderous cheering erupted from behind us. Luna and I turned around to see the villagers upon the ramparts shouting our names as they could finally rest easy, knowing they would not have to worry about who they would lose to the monster attacks each night. Luna walked over to me, leaning her head against my shoulder while wrapping her right arm around my left. Her hand snaked down to my now bare hand, and she linked her fingers with my own. "Good job," I kissed her on her forehead, a light salty taste on my lips from the sweat that was there.
"Mmm, tired..." Luna's ears and tail were both droopy under the weight of the exhaustion from fighting near-constantly for the last week. As we stumbled our way back into the town, I felt my own body's exhaustion start to flood my muscles as the adrenaline I had been fuelling my body with faded away. Arlington, the town's leader, was waiting for us as we passed through the gate. "Master John, I can't even begi-" "Shhh," I gently shushed the man, jerking my chin towards the dog-girl who was slipping in and out of sleep at my side. The two of us watched her finally slip into full sleep. I carefully and dexterously scooped Luna into a princess carry. The townsfolk standing nearby all immediately quieted their celebration. I whispered to Arl, "We need our rest. We will talk tomorrow." Nodding in affirmation, he waved his two teenaged daughters over to assist me with the door into their home and then the bedroom which Luna and I had been lent.
The girls left before returning with hot water to fill the wooden washtub I had made and placed in the room's corner. They also brought some towels for washing ourselves. The younger of the two girls, Dina, washed the still sleeping Luna after stripping off her scuffed armour and tattered clothing. Simultaneously, the older daughter Lana helped me undress from my armour and start to bathe. Her ministrations to me were purely businesslike, as she was engaged to be married in just a few months after the first harvest. Though upon bearing my manhood, she did do a double-take at its impressive stature. Hopefully, her husband-to-be measured up. Maybe I would give him a few special potions to help him bridge the gap.
After we were both fully clean, I pulled back the covers and then laid Luna in the bed. I climbed in myself and had the sisters tuck us in. I waved my thanks before wrapping my arms around Luna before drifting off to sleep.
I woke up as I felt Luna's ears twitch and bump against the side of my face as she slow roused from her slumber. I pulled my head backwards and gazed downwards at her. Feeling the warmth of my chest pull slightly away from her, Luna buried her face against my chest and snuggled her face against me. "Good morning, my love," I gently cooed to her in an attempt to rouse her from her sleep. Her ears twitched, giving away that she was conscious enough to hear me. I planted a kiss on the top of her head. Then I gently rubbed her back with the hand of the arm that was wrapped around under her body. My other arm was under the blankets, with the hand resting upon her hip. I used that hand to rub her thigh as her closeness and scent start to fire me up.
Feeling the pressure of my arousal press against her, Luna looked upwards, locking eyes with me. A licentious smile crept across her lips before she circled her arms around my neck, her fingers running through my hair before gripping it to pull me in for a kiss. It looks like we are both ready to go.
We spent the next hour with Luna, each mutually expressing our love and desire for one another in a passionate, loving embrace. As our love reached its climax, I sensed a presence at the door from the hallway. Checking my minimap, I confirmed it was just Dina. She had opened the door slightly to see if we had awoken. Finding a mature situation where she was not expecting it, she was now enraptured at the sight that met her eyes. With no standardized sexual education in this world, circumstances such as these were the closest to an instructional video a youth was likely to receive.
Now having finished our lovemaking and resting on my back with Luna snuggling against my chest, I called out to our observer. "Dina, what news do you bring?"
A scampering noise could be heard as the girl assuredly got to her feet, followed by a ruffling of cloth as she fixed her clothing. Maybe the lesson got a bit too involved for her first time peeping on grown-ups. "You may come in," I clarified, realizing she may not know if she had such permission. "Excuse me," she said, slipping into the room. Now standing at the end of the bed, her eyes seemed to drift from one position to the next, failing to make eye contact with either of us. Luna, catching up on what had just happened from the red tinge that was stained across the young teen's cheeks, grinned playfully as she looked at the poor nervous girl. "Don't worry, little one," Luna soothed the girl as she pulled her to sit at the foot of the bed.
"Curiosity is natural. I would sometimes catch my parents doing the same when I was young. And since your mom is in heaven and your father works so single-mindedly to raise you girls, I know this is a new thing for you. We are not mad. And if you have any questions, we can go for a walk after breakfast, and I can answer them for you." Luna gently patted the girl's head as she assuaged her worries. "Thanks, Miss Luna!" The girl finally smiled and wiped away a tear she had shed.
Processing the words that Luna had said, the girl swiftly hopped to her feet. "Oh yeah, I was coming to get you two for breakfast!" The smell of bacon and sausages that had filled the room for the last ten minutes making Dina's announcement moot.
