Episode 6 - Destiny of The Rani

Inside a cave, a science lab is set up, beakers of liquid are bubbling.

The Rani sits on a chair, and she types on a computer.

A bear and human-like creature stomps over towards The Rani and says in a raspy voice "commander, the blue box you spoke of is here" The Rani then nods "good, gather the troops, it's time to bring The Doctor to me!" the bear and human-like creature nods "yes commander".

The Rani watches it walk away and she then says "oh Doctor, are you really ready to find out what is happening".

The Rani then crosses her arms.

The Tardis sits in a large muddy puddle and surrounding it is an ash-filled planet with volcanoes and fire.

The Doctor and Kathy walk out of the Tardis together.

The Doctor then says "so, what is it we're supposed to be looking for" Kathy then turns her head, looking at The Doctor.

The Doctor sees a large rocky building in the distance and points over at it "I have no idea, but I do want to have a look in there" Kathy nods at him "let's go then".

The Doctor and Kathy walk together down a crumbly and rocky path.

The Doctor pulls his Sonic Screwdriver out and he starts to sonic around the area.

Kathy then looks at him "what are you doing?" The Doctor says "just scanning around the area, seeing if I can find anything...any traces of anything!" Kathy nods "and?" The Doctor looks down at the readings, coming from the Sonic Screwdriver, The Doctor then says "no, nothing. Just a dark and cold planet" Kathy nods at him "you can say that again".

Kathy goes to respond until the two of them are surrounded by the bear and human-like creatures. Kathy looks around in shock and she says "what are they!" The Doctor then says "I don't know".

One of the creatures then grabs Kathy and she screams "GET OFF!".

The Doctor then shouts "LET HER GO".

One of the creatures then smacks The Doctor around the head, knocking him out.

Click-clacking is heard.

The Doctor's eyes slowly start to open, and he sees a woman in knee-high boots.

The Doctor starts to look up but his vision is blurry where he sees tight leather trousers, and dark red patterned tunics. The Doctor looks at the woman and he sees her wearing red nail varnish and black eye shadow, with various rings and bracelets.

The Doctor's eyes widen even more until he rubs his eyes and he looks up at The Rani's face.

The Rani then smiles "it's been a while, but hello Doctor, it's nice to see you again".

Kathy opens her eyes and she stands up inside a cell.

Kathy looks around and she runs over to a gate and shouts "DOCTOR!".

One of the creatures stands outside her cell and says in its raspy voice "your Doctor isn't here, the Rani is talking to him" Kathy shakes her head "who?" the creatures grunts at her "once she's finished with him, she'll come for you, she only wants him" Kathy stares at the creature.

The Rani starts to slowly circle The Doctor, her high-heels click-clack around him.

The Rani says "I've been doing a lot since our last encounter on Earth. To begin with, it was all about surviving, looking for a way to reset my regeneration, or finding a way to live longer! But nothing worked, nothing was successful. I wound up on a few different planets. I was researching data on them, I met a whole lot of different species. My last stop was here, where my vortex manipulator finally wore out, so I was trapped-".

The Doctor then sees the bear and human-like creatures around the room, watching him.

The Rani continues talking "where I met these-".

The Rani runs her hand through the fur of one of the creatures and smiles.

The Rani continues "a delicate race, they were so peaceful...emphasis on were. I turned them into soldiers, their race was endangered by the previous inhabitants of this disgusting planet! But they burned them, and now they are supreme".

The Doctor then looks up at the creatures and he says "you turned a peaceful civilisation into an army!".

The Rani glares at The Doctor. The Doctor then says "anyway, where's Kathy? If you've harmed her-" The Rani shakes her head "your friend is fine, believe it or not, we don't want her".

The Doctor shakes his head "wait, why do the Barockers follow you, what do you they get out of all of this mess?".

The Rani glares at The Doctor "I have knowledge...knowledge that they'll never understand. The Barockers are my guards, they trust me, and I give them valuable knowledge".

The Doctor goes to reply but The Rani says "I even have knowledge that you might want...about what is happening to you and your past" The Doctor stares at her in shock "what do you know?" The Rani then starts to laugh at him.

The Doctor shouts at her "WHAT DO YOU KNOW!" The Rani shakes her head and says "shush, all in good time Doctor, we have plenty of it...well, you maybe not".

Kathy looks around at the cell and she whispers to herself "come on Kathy, you've had training in this, what to do in a hostage situation-".

Kathy starts looking all around the cell, at each bar and all around the top and bottom of the cell bars. Kathy continues saying "look for any weak spots-".

Kathy then sees a crack in one of the bars. Kathy continues "gotcha!".

Kathy runs over to the crack, and as she looks outside at The Barocker, she sees it has its back towards her.

Kathy pushes on the bar, and it starts to come loose.

Kathy continues to push on it, and suddenly it falls off, causing a few other ones to fall off.

The Barocker turns around and it growls at Kathy "GET BACK!".

Kathy makes a run out of the cell, and towards a door.

The Doctor looks around the room and he says "so? What is this all about?".

The Rani looks at The Doctor "you want to know?" The Doctor nods at her "yes!" The Rani then smiles "because it's fun, seeing how desperate you are!".

The Rani walks up to The Doctor and she says "if you want to know what I know, then you are going to give me one thing" The Doctor stares at her "which is what?" The Rani smiles "I've been learning on extracting regeneration energy from DNA" The Doctor stares at her "and what's your point?" The Rani smiles "I want to take a blood sample, it will have loads of your DNA inside it, I can extract some regeneration energy, giving myself another body" The Doctor stares at her.

Kathy runs outside, where the heat of the planet hits her face.

Kathy watches as a volcano explodes in the distance.

Kathy stares in shock, until a Barock runs outside, and is behind her.

Kathy turns around and she glares at The Barock "take me to the Doctor, that is an order!".

The Doctor stares at The Rani "you want my blood?" The Rani smiles at The Doctor "I do". The Doctor then nods "first, you tell me what I wanna know" The Rani stares at The Doctor "you mean about why your past is being eaten up?" The Doctor nods at her "yes!".

The Rani smiles at The Doctor "you remember the legend of The Unknown? Back at home?" The Doctor looks at The Rani "I do, I even met it, a while back, I threw it back into the void" The Rani nods "you should have checked, your Tardis was on the outskirt of the void, it fell into our universe, you let it out of its prison...and now it is back...and it had got you" The Doctor shakes his head "what does that mean?" The Rani says "it evolved Doctor, before...it was if you saw it then it could feast on you, but that doesn't work anymore, you can see it and survive, but if it gets you, it will erase you" The Doctor nods "and?" The Rani then says "it has your second and third incarnation, and they've been feasted on" The Doctor stares in shock "there must be a way to save them, there must be! I remember being them!" The Rani nods "there probably is, but you won't be strong enough...that's all I know. Now give me what I want!".

Kathy then enters the room and she says "Doctor?" The Doctor turns around and he smiles at Kathy "hey".

Kathy looks at The Rani who shakes her head "you stay there, why is she out?" a Barocker then says "she escaped from her cell, she's smart" Kathy nods "maybe I am".

The Rani then looks at The Doctor. Kathy then says "so, who are you?" The Rani smiles "I'm The Rani, an old friend of the Doctor's...and that's plural, I've seen a few of his faces" Kathy stares at her "faces?" The Rani smiles "yeah, hasn't he told you?" The Doctor glares at The Rani.

The Doctor then stands up, The Barocker's start to grunt and step forward.

The Doctor glares at them.

Kathy runs over and stands beside The Doctor.

Kathy looks at The Doctor "what do we do?".

The Doctor then looks at The Rani and he says "how about we trade?".

The Rani stares at The Doctor "I'm sorry, what?" The Doctor nods at her "yeah, you know...like how I offered you my blood, how I about I offer you two things instead?" The Rani stares at him and nods "go on" The Doctor then says "what if I fixed your vortex manipulator?".

The Rani then stops the Barockers and she says "what do you mean?" The Doctor pulls his Sonic Screwdriver out and he says "hand me it, and I'll fix it for you. But you gurantee the survival of both me and Kathy" The Rani nods at The Doctor "fine".

The Rani then hands The Doctor the vortex manipulator and she says "do it".

The Doctor sits on a chair with Kathy beside him.

The Barockers all stand around The Doctor, watching him. Rani is also watching him.

The Doctor sonics a wire and he pushes it back into the vortex manipulator.

The Doctor turns around, looking at The Rani, The Doctor then says "so you know how I'm brilliant?" The Rani's eyebrow raises. The Doctor then looks at Kathy "hold onto my arm".

Kathy holds onto The Doctor's arm.

The Doctor smiles at the Rani "bye!".

The Rani screams "NO!".

The Doctor pushes on a button, transporting himself and Kathy.

The Doctor and Kathy appear outside, not far from the Tardis. The Doctor and Kathy then starts to run towards the Tardis.

Behind them, The Barockers chase them.

The Rani is also with them and she shouts "STOP THEM!".

The Doctor runs up to the Tardis, he opens the door and he lets Kathy inside.

The Doctor then turns around, he looks at The Rani and says "this isn't the last time we'll see each other, I won't let you die, but I won't give you my blood" The Rani glares at him "how do you know this isn't the last time? When the Unknown finds you, it will remove you from the universe" The Doctor stares at her "I'll win" The Rani shakes her head "no, you won't".

The Doctor then walks into the Tardis.

The Doctor runs over to the console and he pulls the dematerialise lever.

Kathy smiles at The Doctor as the Tardis enters the vortex.

Kathy then says "so? Find much out?" The Doctor nods at her "yeah, and it's not as simple as I thought it would be...the thing that has been removing my timeline is a creature called The Unknown, it's called the Unknown because nobody really knows what it's called or what it is...it's nothing, it doesn't exist but it does. It is the most dangerous creature to ever exist".

Kathy nods at him "so it's gonna be difficult" The Doctor nods at her "very".

Kathy looks at The Doctor and says "so, what do we do? Go and find it?" The Doctor shakes his head "there's no way of finding it...it'll find us" The Doctor then says "Kathy, I want to tell you something, it's something I don't really explain to many people, but I trust you. Timelords have this ability called regeneration. It basically means when I die, I can change my face, my entire body. I've had many faces, many lives and I fear that I'm going to lose many of them, The Unknown is targeting my past lives and taking them...if things go south, I could die and change my face, I need you to know that it's okay and to trust the process" Kathy stares at him and nods "thank you for telling me". The Doctor smiles at Kathy. Kathy says "so, what do we do now?" The Doctor says "we find anyone that needs our help" Kathy smiles at The Doctor.

The Doctor smiles and sniffs the air "I did pretty well actually, it's Eighteen-eighty seven".

Someone then bumps into Kathy, knocking her to the ground.

The Doctor then says "who are you?".

The person pulls off the cloak, revealing Vastra.

The Doctor then looks at the newspaper and he reads 'man attacked by shop work dummy'.

The Doctor stares at the newspaper and says "well, I already think I know what this is".

Walking inside the shop together, The Doctor looks around at wooden mannequins.

Kathy says "you're telling me the mannequins can come to life? How the hell is that possible?".

The Doctor then says "first off, stop calling them mannequins, they're called Autons".

Next Time - The Auton Plot - Arriving in the 1800s, The Doctor and Kathy meet Vastra and her friends. But wooden shop dummies come to life, leaving the gang to investigate. Kathy and Strax find the location of the Nestene Consciousness. Vastra, Jenny, and The Doctor are attacked.
