Episode 3 - Genius of The Daleks - Part 1

Previously: The Doctor, Maya, and Greg arrived back at Skaro, where they met Katrep, and a few Thalls, the ancestors to the Thalls that The First Doctor met. The Doctor trapped The Daleks and Davros in the city so they couldn't escape.

Five Months Before Kathy Met The Doctor:

Kathy sits beside her desk in Northdale Police Station, Kathy starts typing on her computer until Leon walks over to her and says "Kathy, we have a possible homicide, come with me?" Kathy nods at him "yeah, alright".

Kathy gets up and she joins Leon as the two of them walk towards a car.

Arriving outside of a building, Kathy looks over at a building that is taped off and has police surrounding it.

Leon and Kathy get out of the car together, Kathy then says "it's in that building?" Leon nods as the two of them walk towards a cafe "yeah, why?" Kathy looks at Leon "my boyfriend works in there" Leon stares at her "well, let's go check it out?" Kathy nods at him.

Walking into the cafe, Leon and Kathy see police inspecting a body on the floor.

Kathy then walks up to the body, and she stares in shock "no" Leon then turns his head and he says "Kathy? You should remove yourself from the building". Kathy then shakes her head "I'm not, I have to be here" Kathy looks down at the body of her deceased boyfriend.

Present Day:

A massive golden sphere spaceship flies through space, behind it are smaller golden sphere spaceships.

Inside the spaceships, Thalls are inside doing hard labor. Fixing, building, serving.

A door opens to a hallway and Katrep is revealed to be working on the spaceship.

Katrep holds a hammer and he hammers at a wall inside the spaceship.

Suddenly, another door opens and a silver and black Dalek enters the hallway and says "you will continue to work, anyone seen to be not working will be exterminated".

Inside a small boxed room, the Tardis materialises.

The Doctor and Kathy walk out of the Tardis.

The Doctor then says "I've just received a distress call from this ship, so let's look around and see who it's from" Kathy nods at The Doctor "alright".

As The Doctor and Kathy walk along a hallway, The Doctor looks at Kathy and says "are you alright by the way?" Kathy looks at him "what do you mean?" The Doctor says "it's just, you were quick to leave Earth when I gave you that option, and there are times where you're so quiet, it's like you're lost in thoughts" Kathy nods at The Doctor "yeah, I'm fine" The Doctor nods at her.

Kathy then looks at The Doctor "actually, it's...a few months ago, I-".

Suddenly, an alarm starts blaring off inside the spaceship.

The Doctor pulls Kathy into a small gap in the middle of the hallway, where they are hidden.

Kathy stares at him and she says "what are you-" The Doctor then puts his finger onto his lips.

A vibration sound is heard, The Doctor turns his head, where he sees a Dalek move past them.

Kathy then whispers "what was that?" The Doctor then says "a Dalek" Kathy looks at him.

Walking back onto the hallway, Kathy then says "so? Wanna explain?" The Doctor then says "you've met them before" Kathy stares at him "have I?" The Doctor looks at her and he says "oh, sorry...that was Maya and Greg" Kathy then sighs "yeah, not me" The Doctor nods at her and he says "inside that metal shell is a creature born to hate, whose only thought is to destroy everything and everyone that isn't a Dalek too. And they won't stop until it's killed every living thing that isn't pure Dalek, they come from a planet called Skaro, and they're my biggest enemies" Kathy then scoffs "blimey, talk about a past" The Doctor nods "you have no idea".

A Dalek then says "you will halt, you are in the wrong area, move" The Doctor then whispers to Kathy "reply to it, I can't let it notice me" Kathy then looks at The Dalek "what do you mean?" the Dalek then says "Thalls must be in hallway B, move!".

Kathy and The Doctor continue along the hallway as the Dalek is behind them.

The two of them then enter another hallway, where they see the Thalls working.

The Doctor then notices a familiar face and he walks over to him.

Kathy watches the Dalek leaving as she then runs over to The Doctor.

The Doctor taps a man on the shoulder and says "Katrep?" Katrep then turns around and he smiles "Doctor? That's not possible!" The Doctor smiles and says "what happened? Why are you here?" Katrep then says "everything you did on Skaro worked, the Daleks were trapped in the city, but about a couple of years after, they got out, but they'd been working on something, a spaceship a mother ship, which is what we're on, lead by Davros, and the Supreme Dalek. They're headed for some new planet, which they want to make the new Skaro" The Doctor then says "what happened to the other Thalls in your group?" Katrep says "some escaped, like Temmosus Jr and Petra" The Doctor nods at him "well, any ideas on where I can find Davros?" Katrep nods "they're at the Dalek Command Center, it's in the middle of the ship, none of us are allowed in there though" The Doctor looks at Kathy "listen to me, follow what Katrep does, stay with him, I'll come back for you" Kathy nods at The Doctor "alright, be careful" The Doctor nods.

Kathy looks at Katrep "so, what are we doing?" Katrep then says "we're replacing the wires in this unit, it has to be replaced every week, we have to keep heat flowing inside here, it's what The Daleks want, air conditioning has to stay off" Kathy nods at Katrep "okay, so, you've met The Doctor before?" Katrep nods and says "back on Skaro, although, he had two other people with him?" Kathy nods "yeah, he told me they died, or something like that, he lost them" Katrep then nods "oh, that's horrible, death just seems to be everywhere, it's horrible" Kathy nods at him "I know what you mean-" Katrep says "back on Skaro, I had a wife...I loved her, she was pregnant when the Daleks attacked my camp, and they...they-" Kathy nods at him with tears in her eyes "well, a few months ago, my boyfriend was murdered, and since it happened, I've just been lost, so when I found The Doctor, I found it as an excuse to get away from the problems of facing that back at home, but there are times where I just stand there, and all I do is remember what happened" Katrep nods at her "but you're still going, that takes strength" Kathy looks at Katrep and she nods "yeah, it does" Kathy smiles at him as tears run down her face.

Five Months Before Kathy Found The Doctor:

Kathy stands writing notes inside the cafe.

Leon walks over to her and he says "from first glances, it looks as if he shot with some sort of flammable gun?" Kathy looks at Leon and she says "how's that possible?" Leon shakes his head "I've never seen anything like this before" Kathy stares at Leon nervously "we have to solve it, I have to!".

Present Day:

The Doctor walks down a corridor and towards a door, The Doctor pulls his Sonic Screwdriver out and sonics the door open.

As the door slides open, The Doctor walks into the Dalek Command Center, where he then says "hello, hello...Daleks! It's your best friend, The Doctor!".

The Silver and Gold Supreme Dalek then shouts "ALERT, ALERT IT IS THE DOCTOR!".

Davros then smiles "excellent, this must be fate" The Doctor smiles at Davros "I wouldn't get my hopes up if I was you, because as you know Davros...I'm here to stop you".

Davros then says "no, Doctor...we should be thanking you" The Doctor then stares at Davros "I'm sorry, what?" Davros says "you trapped us in the city, you gave us something that we didn't originally have...time! We had time to plan and time to create".

The Supreme Dalek then says "Davros created a plan, to build a ship...and take us to a new home, where only pure Daleks would survive. It will become the new Skaro" The Doctor looks at Davros and says "what planet are you going to?" Davros then smiles "the planet Marcey, it's the perfect planet for us Daleks. A planet full of radiation" The Doctor stares at him.

Kathy grabs onto a wire and ties it together "like this?" Katrep nods at her "yeah, that's it".

Kathy smiles at Katrep. Katrep then says "so, what happened to your boyfriend? If you don't mind me asking" Kathy looks at Katrep and says "well, it was before I met The Doctor, he was shot by some sort of flammable gun, we had never seen anything like it before. So the case was eventually closed because it was something that couldn't possibly exist. But then I met The Doctor, I learned that there is so much more out there than we thought. He offered me a place on the Tardis, but I declined, I went back to the station, and I reopened the case, and we found five other related cases who had died from a flammable gun...we found that there was a connection, all five victims had a rare blood type...AB-negative. It took three months, but just a couple of weeks ago, I found the killer, it was some sort of centipede looking creature, but Torchwood came and took it, locked it behind bars" Katrep nods "and this is why you're struggling?" Kathy nods "ever since he died, the months after, all I've been doing is looking for clues...anything to find the person, well the thing that killed him. And now that I have, it's like I have nothing left to do but finally, mourn him, and remember that I'm all alone now".

The Doctor stands in the Dalek Command Center. Five Daleks are around him aiming their guns.

Davros and The Supreme Dalek are in front of The Doctor.

The Doctor then says "so, what happens now? We sit here and have a chat?" Davros then says "you will stay as we land on our new planet, the radiation will kill you, and I'm almost certain you're not alone, so your friends will also die" The Doctor then says "what about the Thalls? They're not medicated they won't survive on that planet!" a Dalek then says "the Thalls will die along with your friends" The Doctor glares at the Dalek "I don't think so, because for as long as I'm here, no ship is landing on that planet!".

Davros then looks at a Dalek "find his friends, locate the humans!" a Dalek then says "I obey!".

The Doctor watches the Dalek leave the Command Center.

The Doctor then looks at Davros and says "I'll get out, you know I will. I always do, how many times have we been in this situation? How many times have I stopped you and your Daleks?".

Davros then smiles "and this time, will be our victory Doctor, you can't always win".

In the hallway, Kathy and Katrep stand together, other Thalls are working in the hallway.

A Dalek then enters with another Dalek.

One of The Daleks then says "we have the Doctor as our prisoner...his associates will reveal themselves now!".

A Thall then steps out and says "why? Why should any of us continue to work for you!" the Dalek then says "exterminate".

The Dalek then exterminates the Thall, the Thall falls to the floor dead.

The Dalek then says "The Doctor's associate will step out now, or we will kill even more Thalls".

Kathy then looks at Katrep "I have too" Katrep then says "listen, we run" Kathy shakes her head "no".

Kathy then steps out and she says "it's me".

The Dalek's then look at her and one of them says "you are The Doctor's friend?" Kathy nods "I am". The Dalek then says "witness!".

Kathy turns around as a panel opens, revealing a window that shows outside.

Katrep then looks outside and he sees a planet in the distance.

Kathy then says "what is it?" a Dalek then says "the new homeworld of the Daleks...made of ninety percent of radiation" Katrep turns around in shock "that much radiation would completely disintegrate us!" the Dalek then says "we know".

Kathy looks at Katrep in shock "what do we do?" Katrep shakes his head "pray".

Davros then starts to laugh as a control panel starts to beep.

The Doctor looks at Davros "what is it?".

Davros then smiles "we have found your friend Doctor...a young woman".

A Dalek then moves over to the control panel and says "we are approaching Marcey, we will reach the atmosphere in thirty rel's...twenty-nine...twenty-eight-".

Davros continues to laugh "in seconds Doctor, you and your friend will perish, and the Thalls will die...the radiation will consume you all within seconds".

The Doctor glares at Davros "STOP THIS! PLEASE!".

Davros continues to laugh.

The Dalek continues "twenty...nineteen-".

Kathy and Katrep look out of a window and they see the bright blue planet that is Marcey.

Kathy looks at Katrep "the Doctor will save us...he will!" Katrep looks at her "we're approaching the atmosphere, it's too late!" Kathy stares at him in shock.

The Dalek continues "ten...nine...eight-".

The Doctor then shouts "STOP!".

Davros is still laughing "YOU REALISE, DON'T YOUR DOCTOR...THIS...IS...YOUR...END!".

The Dalek then says "three...two...one-".

The Doctor stares in shock...

Kathy watches as the spaceship enters the atmosphere.

Kathy turns around and watches as a wave of force starts to enter the spaceship.

Thalls begin to scream.

Kathy and Katrep step back, near the window as the force gets closer and closer to them.

Kathy closes her eyes

Next Time - Genius of The Daleks - Part 2 - With seconds before death, can The Doctor, Kathy, or Katrep save themselves from impending doom. Or will the radiation consume them all? The Doctor came here for a reason, to speak to Davros, but will Davros reveal anything.
