Episode 2 - Survival of The Sontarans

Explosions go off on the planet Sontar, small green ships drop explosives down onto the planet, causing the planet to fall into nothing but ashes.

One of the small green ships holds a massive bomb at the bottom of it.

But the ship drops the bomb, and the bomb lands on the planet but doesn't go off.

On a ship not too far from the green ships, inside are The Sontarans.

One of the head Sontarans then says "General Draal, what was that dropping from one of The Rutans ships?" Draal then says "Commander Brock, we're getting readings that it's a radiation bomb, if it goes off, it could kill us all" Brock then nods "they've gone the nuclear route, hm? Well, The Sontarans won't go down that easy, any news off of head commander Jewels?" Draal shakes his head "nothing, until his return, you are in charge" Brock then smiles "and I will lead The Sontarans into victory...SONTAR HA!" Draal then joins in with him "SONTA HA!".

On one of the old battlefields on Sontar, the Tardis starts to materialise.

Kathy steps out of the Tardis smiling until her face then drops as The Doctor also walks out.

Kathy then says "this doesn't look like the kind of place to chill out" The Doctor then looks around at many dead Sontarans and he says "we're on Sontar" Kathy looks at him "want to explain?" The Doctor then says "Sontar, the planet of The Sontarans, they're at war with a race called The Rutans, have been for thousands, if not millions of years, they've fought all over the universe, even nearly happened on Earth, but luckily I stopped them with the Redburn's. Well, to be fair I think the war was pointless and a waste of time because the Sontarans don't fight for anything other than the joy of battle, they wouldn't want it to end, they just keep it going".

The Doctor then turns to Kathy and says "The Sontarans just never give up".

A Sontaran then shouts "stop right there! You will come with me to Commander Brock!".

The Doctor and Kathy walk into the Sontaran command center with a Sontaran behind them, pointing its gun at them.

Kathy then looks at The Doctor "I hope you have an idea on how to get us out?" The Doctor then says "well, let's see what they want us for first, then we'll discuss how we're escaping".

The Doctor then looks at Kathy "maybe a quick tip for you, the Sontaran's biggest weakness is a probic vent in the back of their neck. That's their weak spot, a single smack and they are on the floor" Kathy nods at him "well, that might come in handy" The Doctor smiles.

Commander Brock turns around and looks over at The Sontaran and says "why do you bring these primitives to me?" The Sontaran then says "commander, they were found outside on the battlefield, beside the blue box" Brock then nods "the Tardis? Which must mean...you are The Doctor" Brock then looks at Kathy "we heard of your gender change when you met our race during the Flux, Doctor-" The Doctor then says "yeah, well...I changed...again" Kathy then looks at The Doctor "Flux?" The Doctor nods "just forget it, I did" Kathy then shakes her head "gender change?" The Doctor nods "yeah, again...forget it" The Doctor then looks at Brock "anyway, what do you want from us?" Brock then says "a bomb has been dropped in the battlefield, a nuclear bomb, it could blow at any minute, if you don't disarm it, Sontar will fall" The Doctor nods "and? Maybe I should let it" Draal then steps forward with his gun to Kathy's back. Brock then says "I think you should rethink" The Doctor then sighs "tell me where the bomb is".

Commander Brock stands beside a hologram map of the battlefield.

Brock then says "as you can see Doctor, the battlefield is over a hundred miles long, the bomb was dropped almost halfway across the battlefield" The Doctor turns his head "you want me to walk fifty miles?" Kathy looks at Brock "that would take hours!" Brock then nods "I know, that's why The Doctor will go" The Doctor looks at Kathy and then at Brock "how do I know you will keep your word and not harm her?" Brock smiles at The Doctor "you don't".

The Doctor walks onto the battlefield and he sighs "right then Doctor, let's find ourselves a bomb".

Walking along the battlefield, smoke fills the distance from wrecked spaceships and burning buildings. The Doctor looks at the damage ahead and he scoffs "blimey, what a mess".

A voice then says "why is it so heavy!".

The Doctor turns around and he then says "hello?".

The voice then replies "who are you? Show yourself at once!".

The Doctor then looks down at a trench and he sees a Sontaran trapped under some rubble.

Back in The Sontaran command center, Kathy sits on a chair waiting for The Doctor.

Kathy then says "you know you lot are stupid?" Brock then turns around, and he isn't happy, he then shouts "STUPID? How dare you speak ill of The Sontaran's! We are the mightiest warriors in the galaxy" Kathy then nods "sure you are, if you were that smart, you would have sent me with The Doctor so I could have helped him" Brock smirks "you really think we care that much about the bomb?" Kathy stares at Brock "what do you mean?" Brock then starts to laugh "we're safe in here from a radiation bomb, we sent The Doctor down there, because when he touches the bomb, it will detonate, it will kill him, we will have killed The Doctor" Kathy stares in shock "then why did you keep me here?" Brock stares at her "we have to have a backup plan" Kathy nods at him "in case your first plan doesn't work?" Brock glares at her.

Draal then hears a noise on a console near him, Draal then says "commander, the Rutans are returning, they have a waypoint set to where the radiation bomb is!".

The Doctor pulls the rubble off of the Sontaran. The Doctor then offers his hand.

The Sontaran then says "I will not accept help from an enemy" The Doctor shakes his head "right now, me and you are equal" the Sontaran stares at The Doctor "why are you out here?" The Doctor then says "I'm looking for a bomb that fell" the Sontaran then says "that's why I'm out here too" The Doctor looks at the Sontaran and says "we're going to the same place, we could at least go together?" the Sontaran sighs "fine, but this is not an alliance" The Doctor nods.

The Doctor then says "have you at least got a name?" the Sontaran then says "I am Commander Jewels of the warrior Sontaran fleet" The Doctor then nods "warrior fleet? Where's the rest of your people?" Jewels then says "we have a spaceship not far from here" The Doctor looks at Jewels "but I thought Brock was in charge?" Jewels shakes his head "he is a commander like me, but I am the head commander, why?" The Doctor then says "he sent me out here to the bomb" Jewels then says "to do what exactly?" The Doctor then says "to stop it, to cancel it" Jewels then smiles "he knew I was out here, he's done this on purpose, he has betrayed me" The Doctor then says "what are you talking about?" Jewels looks at The Doctor "at a time like right now, I will accept an alliance to take down one of my own...the bomb is inevitable, it will go off, a single touch will detonate it, Brock has sent you out here to detonate it, killing yourself and me, so he can take over my army" The Doctor stares at Jewels "he's got my friend hostage" Jewels nods "then we'll go back, we'll stop him" The Doctor nods.

As Kathy sits in the Sontaran Command Center, a beeping sound is heard coming from a console.

General Draal runs over to the console and says "Commander! The Doctor has stopped and is heading back towards us, but...but-" Brock then says "but what?" Draal looks at him "he's not alone" Brock then watches as Draal presses a button, bringing up a hologram map.

Brock then nods and smiles "fascinating, The Doctor has found Commander Jewels" Draal then says "why isn't he continuing the mission in tricking The Doctor?" Brock then says "because Jewels didn't know, I sent Jewels out into battlefield in hopes he'd perish" Draal then says "you betrayed us?" Brock then glares at Draal "I am your commander, I will unleash The Sontarans into battle, we will survive, with Jewels, you will not...get the human girl, she'll be needed-".

Draal turns around, but as he looks over at the chair Kathy was sitting in, he sees her gone "sir, she's gone-" Brock then shouts "FIND HER, AT ONCE!".

The Doctor and Jewels walk into The Sontaran Command Center.

Brock stands with Sontaran's by his side who are aiming their weapons at The Doctor and Jewels. Jewels then says "I should be concerned that you are aiming your weapons at your commander" Brock then smiles "you are not the commander anymore" The Doctor looks at him.

Kathy runs through the Sontaran ship. Behind her Draal chases after her, shooting his gun.

Kathy then runs into a room and she seals the door.

Kathy then stands there out of breath, but as she then goes running, Draal walks into the same room.

Kathy turns around, going to reopen the door, but Draal shoots the lock, deadlocking it.

Kathy then turns back around and she looks at Draal "please, don't shoot me" Draal licks his lips and says "humans, you are so weak!" Kathy stares at Draal "what do you mean? Draal then says "human emotions, they're so strong-" Kathy glares at Draal "you don't know what emotions I've got, some that I keep buried within me, the things I hold inside, you have no idea! But there's one thing I do know, we all have our weaknesses" Draal then nods "Sontaran's have no weakness" Kathy nods at Draal "that's what you think-".

Kathy then turns her head and looks behind Draal "Doctor!".

Draal turns around, and Kathy runs towards Draal.

Draal then says "he isn't here-".

Kathy picks up a piece of metal and she smacks Draal's probic vent.

Draal then falls to the floor unconscious.

Kathy smiles and she runs out of the room.

The Doctor looks at Brock as Jewels stands with The Doctor.

The Doctor then says "why are you doing this?" Brock says "in the last fifty years of the war with The Rutans, Jewels has lead our warrior Sontaran fleet for the past thirty years, after taking over the previous commander, Jewels has caused the deaths of millions of Sontarans, he is weak and should not be leading us into war. I will lead them, and we will end the war between The Rutans" Jewels then says "how dare you, YOU ARE A RENEGADE SONTARAN! You are bread to respect your other clones! The punishment is death!" Brock then starts to laugh at Jewels.

Kathy then walks back into the command center and smiles "Doctor?" The Doctor looks at her "you alright?" Kathy nods "yeah, I'm fine" The Doctor then turns back around and he says "listen, you both want one thing, that's to lead or to win this war, but let me tell you something, probably something I shouldn't tell you, but this war will never end, you will fight for the rest of your lives, so no matter who leads, neither of you will end this war. But...you can make a difference, now I don't really agree with killing others, but I know that you won't stop, so work together, or don't...but maybe you can help each other by working together".

Jewels then looks at Brock. Brock then says "well, I suppose we could work together" Jewels nods "I'll agree to a truth" Brock then puts his hand out and says "so will I".

Jewels walks over to Brock and as Jewels also goes to put his hand out, Jewels then grabs Brock's gun and shoots Brock in the chest.

Brock then falls to the floor.

The Doctor then says "why did you do that?" Jewels then says "a real commander would never agree to something like that, he was weak, now Doctor, you will be executed!" The Doctor stares at Jewels "I'm sorry?" Kathy stares in shock as Jewels then says "an alliance? I used you Doctor, to get onto the ship safely, now you have surpassed all use to me, Sontaran's...EXECUTE THEM!".

Kathy grabs The Doctor's arm, and the two of them start to run off as The Sontaran's open fire.

As the two of them run through the ship, Draal then jumps out from a room and says "stay where you are, you are my prisoners!" Kathy then looks at Draal.

The Doctor moves Kathy out of the way and looks at Draal "you know something about me? A few bodies ago, I competed in the Grobeball tournament-" Kathy looks at The Doctor "Grobeball?" The Doctor nods "you'd love it" The Doctor then pulls out a weird-looking spiked ball and he says "and this was the ball I used, you know, I came first for the best ball thrower-".

The Doctor then throws the Grobe Ball towards a wall, and it bounces off, hitting Draal in the probic vent. Draal then says "not again". Draal then falls to the floor.

The Doctor and Kathy continue to run and Kathy says "that was so cool" The Doctor smiles at her "oh, I know".

The Doctor pulls his Sonic Screwdriver out and he sonics the door to exit the spaceship.

The Doctor and Kathy run outside and back out to the battlefield.

The Doctor and Kathy walk along the battlefield and towards the Tardis.

Suddenly, the small green Rutan ships fly over the heads of The Doctor and Kathy.

The Doctor stares in shock "what are they doing?" Kathy looks at him "I heard one of The Sontarans talking about how The Rutans were coming back, and they were heading for the bomb?" The Doctor stares at her "run" Kathy then says "what?" The Doctor shouts "RUN!".

As The Doctor and Kathy run along the battlefield, behind them, a massive explosion goes off.

Kathy stops and she turns around "oh my god" The Doctor pulls her hand "COME ON!".

Inside the Sontaran Command Center, Jewels and Draal stand with the other Sontarans as they look outside at the explosion.

Draal then says "Brock said the ship could survive the explosion?" Jewels then says "he was wrong" Draal looks at Jewels nervously.

Suddenly, the radiation covers the Sontaran ship, causing it to explode.

The Doctor looks around as the Sontaran ship explodes.

The Doctor and Kathy then run up to the Tardis and they run inside.

The Doctor shuts the door and he runs over to the console and pulls the dematerialise lever.

The Tardis flies through the vortex.

The Doctor and Kathy stand near the console together, Kathy then says "so, are they dead?" The Doctor nods "yeah, they are" Kathy nods "all of them" The Doctor looks at Kathy "The Sontarans are everywhere, that won't be the last of them".

Kathy looks at the time rotor and she smiles "so, what happens next?" The Doctor then says "we need to find out more about what's happening to my life, something's causing people to forget me, I need to pay an old friend a visit, see if he still remembers me" Kathy looks at The Doctor "who is he?" The Doctor then looks at Kathy "Kathy Yates, you're about to meet The Daleks...and Davros" Kathy stares at The Doctor nervously.

Next Time:

A massive golden sphere spaceship flies through space, behind it are smaller golden sphere spaceships.

Suddenly, an alarm starts blaring off inside the spaceship.

The Doctor pulls Kathy into a small gap in the middle of the hallway, where they are hidden.

A vibration sound is heard, The Doctor turns his head, where he sees a Dalek move past them.

The Doctor taps a man on the shoulder and says "Katrep?" Katrep then turns around and he smiles "Doctor? That's not possible!" The Doctor smiles.

Walking into the cafe, Leon and Kathy see police inspecting a body on the floor.

The Dalek then says "exterminate".

Next Time - Genius of The Daleks - Part 1 - Landing onboard a Dalek ship that has escaped from Skaro, The Doctor and Kathy meet some Thaals who The Daleks have taken as prisoners. The Doctor discovers that Davros is creating a plan to make The Daleks stronger than ever.
