Episode 1 - The Alien Who Never Was

An alarm clock rings, Kathy sits up from her bed and she yawns as she sits up from bed.

Kathy grabs a dressing gown and she looks at her clock and says "damn! I'm late!".

Kathy jumps out of bed, and within minutes she is dressed and is brushing her hair, putting it up into a ponytail and she smiles at herself in the mirror "let's do it".

Kathy walks outside holding her coat and she walks down her driveway and to the bottom where her car is parked. Kathy then gets into her car and she starts it.

As Kathy drives down a street, she looks out of the window but she then slams onto her breaks.

Kathy's eyes open in shock.

Kathy gets out of the car and looks over at the Tardis which is parked in a car park.

Kathy then smiles but she sees the black window panes all smashed up and bullet holes in the wooden base. Kathy stares in shock "Doctor-".

Police sirens are heard wailing in the distance as Kathy runs into the Northdale Police Station.

Inside, Kathy walks over and she sees a man sitting in his office. Kathy then says "morning Leon, is it possible to get some CCTV footage of Southdale Car Park?" Leon then sits back from his desk and says "Detective Yates, you're not currently working on any cases, you haven't done many, since...you know. Anyway, why do you need to see some CCTV footage of a car park?" Kathy stares at him "just curiosity" Leon shakes his head "come back to me when you have more of a reason to access CCTV footage" Kathy nods at him.

Kathy sits at her desk playing with a pen, and she sits there thinking for a moment.

Kathy then stands up and walks out of the police station, and towards her car.

Outside of a shop, opposite Southdale Car Park, Kathy walks inside and over to a man, Kathy shows her detective badge and she says "detective Kathy Yates, I need to check your CCTV camera footage please about an incident that occurred in the car park across the street, do your cameras capture over there?" the cashier then nods "yes, please follow me" Kathy nods at him.

Kathy sits at a computer watching through the CCTV footage.

Suddenly, the Tardis starts to materialise, Kathy's face then lights up, and she is smiling.

Kathy then watches as black trucks and vans pull up outside of the Tardis, and UNIT soldiers get out, and they shoot up the Tardis. Kathy stares in shock.

The cameras then freeze and skip over, skipping the next couple of hours.

Kathy smacks the desk and says "someone deleted the rest of the footage-".

Kathy then rewinds some of the footage and she looks back at one of the trucks and she writes down a number plate. Kathy then says "alright Doctor, I'll find you".

Back at Northdale Police Station, Kathy types the plate number of one of the trucks and she searches for the car owner. Kathy then watches as a warning symbol comes up on the screen and a confirmation password then comes up. Kathy sighs "I need a password?".

Leon walks out of his office and says "I just got an alert on my computer, who just typed in a registration plate number?" Kathy turns around and she looks at him "I did?" Leon stares at her "my office, NOW!".

Inside Leon's office, Leon looks at her "why are you digging up dirt on that truck?" Kathy stares at Leon "because I'm looking into something that involves that truck, why are you so paranoid?" Leon looks at her "you don't know who they are, do you? The people who own those trucks" Kathy then says "who are they?" Leon looks at her "stay out of it" Kathy stares at him, and she looks over at a photo of a woman on Leon's desk and Kathy says "how's your wife?" Leon nods "she's alright, thanks" Kathy smiles "what was her name again?" Leon smiles "Melonie" Kathy smiles "lovely name" Leon smiles "listen, I know times are currently tough, with everything that's happened to you in the last few months...I wanna help you, but please, stop digging up dirt on things that you don't understand".

Kathy walks out of Leon's office and she walks back over to her desk, as she looks at the computer which is still asking for a password, Kathy then types in the name Melonie for the password, and the information of the truck starts to pop up. Kathy then reads an address and she smiles "gotcha".

Kathy grabs her coat and she runs out of the police station.

Whilst sitting in her car driving, Kathy pulls up outside of a warehouse.

Outside of the warehouse are the black vans and trucks.

Kathy gets out of her car and she looks over at the vehicles and nods "definitely the right place".

Kathy walks into the warehouse, where she sees some UNIT guards standing near a door.

A UNIT soldier then says "I have to ask that you leave immediately ma'am, this building is for restricted personal only" Kathy then flashes her badge at the guards "detective Kathy Yates, I need to just do a quick check around the building if that's alright?" the UNIT soldier then speaks into his radio and says "Miss Stewart, we have a detective here who wants to check the building?" Kate then replies over the radio saying "let her do her job".

The UNIT soldier nods at Kathy "please, check where you must".

As Kathy walks around the building, she walks past many unusual things, like aliens' weapons and belongings.

Kathy then looks over to her right where she sees a door that says 'holding cells'.

Kathy smiles and walks towards it until she stops and looks at a device that is sitting on top of a shelf. Kathy looks over at it and she says "oh my god".

As Kathy walks over, she sees The Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver and she picks it up.

Walking over to the door to the holding cells, she sonics the door, and it opens.

Walking inside, she hears noises from various different creatures, but as she passes one cell, she looks into and steps back as she looks at The Doctor, who is chained to a wall.

The Doctor stares in shock "Kathy? Kathy Yates?" Kathy smiles and she sonics the door open and she runs over to The Doctor "oh my god, you are here, I knew it!" The Doctor then says "if you could please help me out of these chains" Kathy nods "sorry".

As The Doctor gets down from the chains he then looks at Kathy and hugs her "it's nice to see a friendly face" Kathy smiles at him "why are you here?" The Doctor then says "well, hard to explain, I'm not even sure. The woman who's captured me and put me in here is a...well was a very close friend of mine, but it's as if she doesn't remember who I am, which is worrying" Kathy nods at him "what should we do?" The Doctor then says "get back to the Tardis, and figure things out there, something's very very wrong" Kathy nods at him "alright then".

As The Doctor and Kathy walk out of the holding cells room, they walk back into the room with all the alien weapons and belongings, but as they walk in, Kate stands waiting for them with UNIT soldiers behind her.

The Doctor stares at her "Kate Stewart" Kate then says "Kathy Yates, detective Kathy Yates, a close friend of mine called Leon warned me you were being a little suspicious, so when you showed up here, I just had to know why you were so interested in this man-".

The Doctor then says "Kate! It's me! The Doctor, we've helped save the planet together so many times, how have you forgotten. Me and your dad, The Brigadier use to team up so many times, it must be in your brain somewhere, please-" Kate then shouts "ENOUGH! You don't know me or my dad, some alien powers you have are giving you the ability to see my family" The Doctor sighs at her.

Kate then says "you both are a danger to this planet, Kathy, you know too much, I'm sorry".

The Doctor and Kathy then watch as Kate steps back and the UNIT soldiers aim their guns at the two of them. Kathy looks at The Doctor nervously.

The Doctor then aims his Sonic Screwdriver at a device in the room and he sonics it, causing an extremely loud alarm to go off. The Doctor smiles "it's a Cyberman security alarm, very loud stuff, come on Kathy...run!".

The Doctor and Kathy run out of the warehouse, The Doctor then says "wait a minute, where did I leave the Tardis-".

Gunshots then get fired at The Doctor and Kathy by UNIT soldiers.

Kathy grabs The Doctor's arm and she says "get in my car, I know where it is".

The Doctor and Kathy get into the car together and Kathy then starts the engine.

The Doctor looks out of the window and he says "Kathy, maybe get a move on?".

As Kathy looks out of her wind mirror, she looks behind at five UNIT vans with soldiers aiming their guns out of the window at them.

Kathy then says "oh my god-".

The Doctor shouts "DRIVE!".

Kathy steps on the accelerator, and the car flies off down the road with UNIT vans behind it.

Inside one of the vans, Kate sits in it looking over at the Doctor and Kathy in their car.

Kate then gets her phone out and she says "Leon? It's Kate, you were right about Kathy, she has one of my prisoners with her, she helped him escape, he's dangerous and he cannot get back to his...vehicle, get Southdale Car Park locked down...IMMEDIATELY".

Kathy sits in her car panicking as she drives.

Kathy then says "what the hell is going on?" The Doctor shakes his head "looks like I've become public enemy number one with Kate and UNIT" Kathy then says "you think? They're trying to kill u-".

Bullets are shot towards Kathy's car, and the back window smashes.

Kathy then screams "I BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST MONTH!" The Doctor nods "I'll pay for the damages don't worry" Kathy stares at him, but then turns back to the road.

Kathy looks through her wind mirror at the vans behind her, but then at The Doctor as she drives and says "where the hell are your friends? Why couldn't they help you?" The Doctor looks at her "what do you mean?" Kathy then says "when I last saw you, you said you traveled with two people" The Doctor looks at her "Maya and Greg, yeah...they're gone now" Kathy looks at him "gone? Or Gone gone?" The Doctor looks at her "gone gone" Kathy nods at him "I'm sorry".

Kathy turns down a road that leads to Southdale Car Park, but she sees the car park surrounded by the police.

The Doctor looks over at the Tardis which has a massive black sheet over it.

Kathy looks at The Doctor "now what?" The Doctor looks at her nervously "I have an idea, but if you do it, you'll probably be in just as much trouble as I am right now" Kathy turns around and she looks at him "I think I'm already in enough trouble just tell me!".

The Doctor then says "ram them" Kathy then says "I'm sorry, what?" The Doctor nods at her "trust me, they'll move, just drive towards them, and park near the Tardis, I need to get that sheet off of it first though".

Kathy then puts the car into gear and she says "oh god, why did I come and save you-".

Kathy then steps onto the accelerator, and she drives towards the police.

Leon stands among them and he stares in shock "MOVE OUT OF THE WAY".

All the police start to jump out of the way as Kathy drives through the car park and towards the Tardis.

Kathy then stops the car near the Tardis.

Kate jumps out of her UNIT van outside of the car park.

Kate then looks over at Leon and she sarcastically says "you did a great job" Leon sighs "I did my best, it was either get run over or let them through".

The Doctor and Kathy get out of the car as Leon, Kate and UNIT start running towards them.

The Doctor pulls the black sheet off of the Tardis, where The Doctor and Kathy look at the Tardis which has fixed itself up, the outside has returned back to its denim blue colour, with matching blue window frames and light blue window panes.

The Doctor pushes the door open and he looks at Kathy "if you coming in here, we'll be safe, but we'll be on the run" Kathy turns around and she looks at Leon and Kate with UNIT soldiers.

Kathy then takes The Doctor's hand and they walk into the Tardis.

The Doctor slams the door shut behind him, and he locks it.

The Tardis is dark.

The Doctor and Kathy stand near the doors.

The Doctor then claps his hands twice, and the Tardis lights come on.

The Tardis is revealed to Kathy, it's changed.

The Tardis has an elegant white marble floor.

The console is in the middle of the console room, it's very reminiscent of the original console, it's also a mint green colour.

Kathy walks over to the middle of the console room, and she holds onto a barrier around the middle of the room where the console is.

Kathy smiles "you've redecorated" The Doctor nods at her.

Kathy then says "I love it". The Doctor smiles.

The Doctor looks at the monitor and he sees all of the UNIT soldiers standing outside.

Kathy then says "what happens now?" The Doctor looks at her "well, until I figure out what has happened, we can't ever return, they'll be waiting, as soon as I landed before they were here within minutes, so this is your last chance, Kathy Yates...you can stay with me, help me fix whatever has gone wrong, or I can return you home" Kathy looks at The Doctor "I think I'd be too scared to go home, I want to stay with you, help you fix this" The Doctor nods at her "alright then, but I have no idea where to start" Kathy looks at him nervously.

The Doctor then smiles at Kathy "I tell you what I do need though-" Kathy stares at him "what?" The Doctor then says "a break, fancy going somewhere to just chill out for a bit?" Kathy nods "after today, I could definitely do with a chill out" The Doctor smiles and he pulls the dematerialise lever.

Next Time:

On one of the old battlefields on Sontar, the Tardis starts to materialise.

Explosions go off on the planet Sontar, small green ships drop explosives down onto the planet, causing the planet to fall into nothing but ashes.

General Brock then says "a bomb has been dropped in the battlefield, a nuclear bomb, it could blow at any minute, if you don't disarm it, Sontar will fall".

The Doctor then looks down at a trench and he sees a Sontaran trapped under some rubble.

The Doctor walks onto the battlefield and he sighs "right then Doctor, let's find ourselves a bomb".

Kathy runs through the Sontaran ship. Behind her Draal chases after her, shooting his gun.

A massive explosion goes off.

Kathy stops and she turns around "oh my god" The Doctor pulls her hand "COME ON!".

A Sontaran shouts "SONTAR HA!".

Next Time - Survival of The Sontaran's - Among the scorched planet of Sontar, The Doctor searches for a bomb, planted somewhere on the planet by The Rutans. The Sontarans capture Kathy and use her to get The Doctor to save their race. The Doctor has no other choice.
