13 Chapter 12: Misunderstanding Cleared

It was not until seven in the morning that Ruth Dawn finally came down from the second floor, and Dwight Brews was with her.

"William Cole? What are you doing? Are you crazy?"

Ruth was met with cigarette butts strewn all over the floor and a cloud of smoke filling the living room.

Then she saw William Cole sitting on the sofa, staring intently at her, which made her pause.

Then she began to curse loudly.

"Honey! What were you guys doing upstairs last night..."

William stood up, his throat a bit dry.

Dwight Brews looked at William Cole with a teasing smile: "William Cole, don't worry, I didn't touch your wife. I spent the night on the sofa."

Ruth paused in surprise, initially not understanding why William was behaving this way.

But hearing Dwight's words, she suddenly understood.

She immediately responded angrily, "We're not as disgusting as you think! Do you suppose everyone is like you?

Even my mom... Dwight came here to protect me because I was alone and he was worried about me!"

"Don't you remember clearly what you did at the hotel?"

The thought of the events at the hotel made Ruth shudder in disgust.

William let out a sigh of relief.

William's face darkened, "My woman doesn't need protection from anyone else. Get lost!"

Ruth looked at him in surprise. In all the time she had known William, she had never seen him act so assertively before.

In that moment, Ruth felt a tinge of happiness and reassurance.

In fact, Ruth didn't particularly dislike William.

It was just that his behavior was too cowardly.

Nothing like how a man ought to behave.

Without uttering a word, William picked up the fruit knife from the coffee table.

"You...You're ruthless." Dwight glared at William then slinked away.

Dwight deemed his own life much more precious compared to worthless William's.

After Dwight slumped out of the villa, William Cole cracked a grin - "Honey, let me peel an apple for you."

"You..." Ruth was at a loss for words, "I'll get myself cleaned up first. Later, we need to go back and apologize to mom and dad! You should hurry up and take a bath too, you're all dirty."

"Okay."

William did not know why Ruth had suddenly changed her attitude towards him.

But he was very happy.

With record speed, William took a shower and put on clean clothes.

About half an hour later, Ruth had finished putting on her make-up, and they set off for the Dawn family home.

An hour later, at the Dawn residence.

Valerie Dawn, Eddie Brews, Elsie Dawn, and Maxim Lawson had all arrived early.

"Dad, Mom, I'm sorry. I've brought William to apologize," A remorseful Ruth said.

"Never mind, let's just put this behind us."

To Ruth's surprise, Eloise Torres had a calm demeanor.

Her mother did not explode in rage?

Did her family not tell her mother-in-law about yesterday's incident?

After all, considering the beastly things William had done...

Actually, it was Archie Dawn who had told Eloise Torres that all of William's actions had been to help open up Eloise's blood vessels.

And so, Eloise Torres wasn't angry at William.

Of course, while she was not angry, Eloise Torres still didn't show William any pleasantly.

"William, don't ever do anything so dangerous again and don't use your half-baked medical skills.

You might kill someone." Eloise said, coldly.

"Mom, what are you talking about?" Ruth was baffled.

"Understood, Mom." Light dawned in Williams's eyes,

He was astonished, it seemed the misunderstandings were cleared up, and his mother-in-law Eloise Torres already knew his intention.
