Packing Everything

"What's making you more desperate? Going back to Seoul and possibly seeing him again, or our family's situation?"

Aeri was so shocked and mad by her sister's question, that she couldn't speak for a minute. "Don't bullshit me, Jiah. That's not the moment. What a fucking stupid question is that? Who do you think I am to be more worried about seeing that scumbag again and not worried about our parents and brother in the hospital? Just shut up and call the pilot already, or I'll make sure to put you in the same state as our family is now," Jiah got scared by her sister's tone and avoided her gaze.

She couldn't believe Jiah dare to ask her something like that, of course, she was worried about her family, they were all she had with her son, and seeing Seojin was only collateral damage.

Breathing deeply, she finally managed to call Ashlyn Evans her personal assistant, and not only told her everything she wanted but also asked if the girl would want to come with her, once she was fluent in Korean, and she agreed. Seeing that Jiah was still on the phone with Taylor, she said, "Tell him to prepare the jet for four people."

"Four? Who's the fourth?"

"Ashlyn. She's going to go with us because I'll work there for the time being, and I definitely can't work without her, or I'll be lost."

"Isn't she the pilot's girlfriend?"

"Yes. But that's none of our business. At least they'll have someone while being there."

Jiah rolled her eyes but nodded and told Taylor what Aeri's said.

She went to her son's bedroom to start packing his clothes and found him already doing that. "Mommy, don't worry about me. Remember that I can take care of myself better than you of yourself. I already spoke with Mr. Hargreeves and he agreed with what you asked me to say. He also wished grandma, grandpa, and uncle Mori better health."

"Thank you, baby."

"I'm not a baby, mommy. In Korean age, I'm eight!"

Aeri scoffed at that. "First of all, we are not in Korea, we are in the US and here you're 7, smartass. Furthermore, even when you turn forty, you'll still be my baby, just accept it," she messed with his hair. "And don't try to outsmart me, little one. I'm your mother!"

He smiled at his mom, asking himself how was she holding herself together and then he hugged her. "You are the strongest person I've ever seen, mommy," he kissed her cheek. "They're going to be okay. Everything's going to be okay."

"I know it will, baby. Now, mommy is going to pack her things. When aunt Jiah finishes her call, tell her to do the same faster. And when you finish packing your things, go take a bath and get ready. After that, start packing the books in the library. Mommy will do the same," Tae-tae nodded and let her go. "And stop using your cute card to calm me down."

Sulking, he made her heart flutter. "I would never do that!"

[How can he be so similar to that asshole?] She asked herself while melting by her son's manipulations.

Aeri used the bath to cry, once her son wouldn't be able to hear her. When she was done, she went back to her bed, once her closet was already empty, and started to get ready. While thinking that now that her brother was in a critical state as well as her parents in the hospital, someone would have to assume control of their company, and this someone would be Jiah.

Meaning she would have to bring Tae-tae with her to the set when she went to work.

She wore high-waist light jeans, a straight yellow cropped with thin straps, a black jacket, and a pair of knee-length black boots, doing a natural and basic make-up, leaving her long red hair loose, wearing only her rings and her pair of earrings. After packing her black cross-handle bag with everything she needed, her documents and Tae-tae's, she left the room carrying everything to the living room.

Her sister was dressed in a spring light blue dress with a pair of black high-heels, natural make-up, and her long straight red hair also loose.

Tae-tae was looking handsome in a black shirt, black bomb jacket, black shorts, black socks with white flowers, a pair of black sneakers, using his lime-green glasses, his wavy red hair tossed to the left side, and a black purse on his back. "I already packed all the books with aunt Jiah."

"Let's go then. Tae-tae is going to go with me in my car and you go on yours, sis. That way, once our cars are big, we'll be able to bring all our bags in one go," Aeri instructed her older sister.

She nodded and each one picked an elevator. Tae-tae went in the same as his mom, after putting everything in the two cars they went to the building's syndic who was on the ground floor, to warn him that they would be moving out for a while, for personal reasons.
