"Thank you," whispered Kanobi Sheldon with his last bit of strength, as if he had kept himself alive all this time to utter those words to Bowen.
Just as Sheldon's body embraced eternal rest, his soul was pulled out of it like a magnet. Sheldon felt light, as if he was now completely free from the laws of the world. He opened his eyes to see his body transparent, and he kept seeing the thief kneeling near him. Everything moved slowly. Time seemed to pass a hundred times slower than reality. He could tell by the actions of the thief who had helped him; they became multiple times slower.
"Is this what happens when one dies?" he thought.
Sheldon tried to touch his body, but it just went through. He also tried touching the thief, but the result was the same. He certainly understood that he had died.
