Chapter 8: Passing the first round

"Another prodigy has been born," Longan exclaimed.

"Skeleton summoning" Lucius exclaimed.

A few magic circles had appeared on the ground as Lucius chanted a spell. From each of the magic circles, the body of a skeleton was forming

A few seconds later, the skeleton was completely formed. The skeleton was blue and had a sword in its hand.

There were a total of 6 skeletons, they looked at Lucius. They looked like loyal servants waiting for the order of their master.

"Skeleton summoning has been completed," Lucius thought to himself.

He looked at his summons, the moment he looked at the third summons a notification flashed in his retina.

(Summoned skeletons.

Race: Undead (Summoned creature created by the summoner's mana)

Skills.

1)Basic Swords mastery

Stats. (Influenced by the unique stat:Necromancer Blessings)

Health: 23, Strength:12, Stamina:14 Speed:24, Defense:4, Mana:1, intelligence:1

Level 1)

Lucius just nodded his head slightly when he looked at the stats of the skeleton.

"The stats are somewhat higher than I had expected but the intelligence and mana are bothering me," Lucius thought to himself.

A second later he shook his head.

"Forget it, this will do for now," Lucius thought.

He took a look at his surroundings.

Everyone had a look of disbelief on their face when they saw the skeletons that he had summoned including Xin, Luca, and Zoe.

Lucius saw the shocked look on their faces but he ignored them.

He looked at the Tester

"Go and attack that guy, my summons," Lucius announced as he pointed his sword toward the tester.

The skeleton began to charge towards the tester with visible killing intent.

"These insignificant creatures are not enough to land a hit on me. I can kill them with a single swing of my sword" The tester exclaimed as he saw the skeletons charging towards him.

Lucius ignored his words, he closed the book of Creation, causing it to float around him. With determined focus, he charged toward the tester, who stood perilously close to the approaching skeletons.

Lucius knew that the summons wouldn't be able to take a single hit from the tester yet he had sent them to attack the tester.

"It's time to activate that skill," Lucius thought to himself.

Lucius first determined the distance between the skeletons and himself.

"All of my summons are within a radius of 25 meters. I can activate the skill but how should I activate the skill" Lucius thought to himself.

The moment Lucius thought about activating the skill, a notification flashed in his retina.

(Do you want to activate the skill, necromancer enchantment? If you activate the skill then 50 percent of your total mana will be used up.

Current available mana: 60)

The moment the message flashed in his retina, he shouted.

"Yes!!" Lucius shouted.

(The skill Necromancer enchantment has been activated

After the notification flashed in his retina, the summons who were within a radius of 25 meters around, a golden glow began to be emitted from the bodies of the summons.

Simultaneously, a notification flashed in his retina.

(All of the summons within a radius of 25 meters have been enchanted. The moment a summons leaves the circle around you. They will lose their enchantment)

"Don't get more than 25 meters away from me!!" Lucius shouted as he gave commands to his summons.

The summons didn't nod or say anything but Lucius knew that they understood. Lucius saw that his summons was just about to attack the tester.

"The moment they are attacked by the tester then the tester will become shocked because they aren't disappearing since the summons of a necromancer normally disappears.

I will take advantage of that moment, moreover, I have another card left" Lucius mumbled.

The tester was within the reach of the two of Lucius's summons. The two summons swung their respective swords vertically by 180 degrees.

One of them was at his left and another was at his right.

"Pathetic" The tester exclaimed.

Lucius saw the tester dodge the attacks of the summon by just moving backward at an incredible speed.

Lucius saw the two skeletons looking at their left and right searching for the enemy even though the enemy was in front of them.

Lucius just slapped his forehead when he saw the stupidity of his summons. However, it couldn't be helped since their intelligence was very low.

Lucius hurriedly gave them new commands.

"The enemy is in front of him, he has dodged your attack. Go and attack him" Lucius shouted as he gave them new orders.

The moment they received this command. They looked in front of them. They charged towards the tester. Lucius also followed behind them.

Lucius kept charging towards the tester, a second or two later. Lucius was just a meter away from being able to hit him.

"I will surely land a hit on him now," Lucius exclaimed.

There were two skeletons behind the tester and two in the front. The other four skeletons were also near him.

However, there was a little bit of a stressed look on the tester's face.

"Why is he so calm?" Lucius exclaimed as he looked at the calm look on the tester's face.

A second later, the tester rotated his body and swung his sword 360 degrees, the sword obliterated anything that was in its path.

The sword that he was using was 1.34 meters long and the summons were 1 meter away from him.

The sword passed through the body of the summon like a knife passing through butter. The four skeletons were cut in half and the

"It will take him at least 2 seconds to retreat his sword and swing it towards me. I will use the gap to launch an attack but It won't guarantee a hit since he can still dodge it.

The sword attack will serve as bait.

I will use the skeletons to land a hit on him when they recover." Lucius thought to himself.

Lucius didn't panic, he swung his sword 90 degrees horizontally when he was close enough.

The moment the tester saw this, He lowered his body just enough for Lucius to miss his attack. Lucius' sword passed by the back of the tester.

Lucius didn't look surprised or panicked since he had expected this.

"He has fallen for my trap" Lucius exclaimed as he looked at the four skeletons around him.

When he saw the conditions of the skeleton, he became shocked.

"Wait what" Lucius blinked in confusion.

The lower body and upper body of the skeleton were still not attached.

There were some threads of mana extending outwards from the lower body of the skeleton to the upper body of the skeleton which were cut in half.

The threads were trying to reattach their body.

A notification flashed in his retina which shattered all of his hopes.

(It takes time for a summon to recover from their injuries. The higher your Necromancer Blessings and higher the grade of the summoned, the less time it will take for them to recover from their injuries)

At this moment, Lucius knew that he had messed up.

"Damn it, I neglected the fact that it takes time for them to recover from injuries. If I can't land a hit on him now then I won't be able to do it again." Lucius exclaimed.

He began to think of a way to land a hit on the tester. In less than a second, he had thought of dozens of plans but all of them were likely to fail.

Lucius took a look at his surroundings, his eyes were fixated on the book of creation that was flying around him.

"Wait, maybe I can use the Book of Creation to launch an attack on him." Lucius thought to himself, excitement was visible on his face.

A voice resounded through his ears just as he was about to give an order.

"That's enough, candidate Lucius, you have passed the first round of evaluation. You have shown excellent skills, hence you have passed the first round of the exams" A powerful voice resounded through his ears.
