You Can't Use Me Girl
"Ahhh… please save me!!"
A loud shout shattered the stillness of the forest behind Daniel. He whipped around. He was near the Rock Cave Dungeon, no other player was there at the moment except him.
"Hmm...who could it be?" Daniel muttered, cautiously proceeding towards the source of the strange sound. While regular monsters and players posed little threat, powerful player killers were another story - this could be an ambush.
After carefully picking his way through the undergrowth, he emerged into a small clearing. Soon, two figures came into sight. One girl lying crumpled on the ground while the other stood over her, sword gripped tightly, as she swiftly parried the claws of an enormous, snarling horned wolf. Blood seeped from her wounds , her movements growing sluggish.
Daniel remembered seeing these girls in the alchemy shop earlier. He looked at the huge horned wolf which kept attacking the girls without giving them a break.
He didn't really care about it and decided to go back to the dungeon, but then, the girl fending off the wolf shouted in his direction with a pleading voice. She put on a cute puppy face in front of him.
"Please save us! We will lose our items and level if we die here!" The girl was internally confident that her charm would work on him.
Daniel turned back in her direction and replied. "I don't have anything to do with it, I am leaving." As soon as he said this, the girl was dumbfounded. A flicker of irritation and disbelief flashed across her delicate features.
"B-but… a strong man should help a poor girl in danger, no?" She quickly regained her composure as she also kept fighting the wolf while talking for Daniel.
"Alright whatever… I will help you out." Daniel pitied her and decided to at least kill the wolf for them, then he would leave them immediately.
"Please do it fast if you're gonna do it!" The girl shouted, pretending to suffer while fighting the horned wolf.
Daniel gripped the hilt of his sword tightly and dashed at the horned wolf. The wolf was focusing on the girl, so it was fairly easy to land a strike on it.
Daniel swung his sword without putting in much effort. He managed to land a critical hit on the wolf, killing it in an instant. The girl's jaw dropped upon witnessing the scene.
'What?! How could he one-shot a level 120 monster?!' The girl was shocked beyond belief. She even forgot to thank Daniel after he walked near her.
"Done. I'll be heading back now." Daniel was straightforward with his words, he didn't ask her if she was fine or anything. It wasn't that he didn't have any manners, but Lumi felt uneasy around the girls, so he had to leave quickly.
He would have helped the ladies without even waiting for their pleading if it wasn't for Lumi feeling aggressive towards the girls.
The girl finally came to her senses and saw Daniel turning around to leave. She hurriedly said "W-wait! I am Rena… may I know your name too?" She was afraid that Daniel would leave before she even had a chance to speak with him.
"It's Daniel. Bye, it was nice to meet you." Daniel wasn't interested in the girls. He had already wasted his previous time on these girls. He couldn't wait any longer now.
"U-um… can we join your party? Me and my friend here are really weak and want to make a living for ourselves. Maybe, if we play with a pro like you, we could grow stronger…" The girl praised Daniel, calling him a pro so that he would let them get into his party.
"Oho? Weak you say? Then why did you come into the deeper parts of the forest?" Daniel raised his eyebrow. He became suspicious of her.
"U-um… w-we were trying to hunt stronger monsters so we could make more money… we're having a hard time outside the game…" The girl didn't expect Daniel to still question her, but she was prepared.
"So… can't we join you, our hero?" The girl smiled, trying to make Daniel fall for her charm.
Daniel immediately realised that the girl was trying to use him for her own good. He wouldn't have known about it if he hadn't fallen for something like this before.
It had once happened to him, and he was now aware of the dark side of vr gamers. He could tell whether someone was genuine or fake. His 3 years of Gaming experience had taught him this, although he learned it the hard way back then.
'This sly witch thinks she can use me… look at this, huh?" He smirked, keeping it to himself.
'Very well then… I shall teach her a lesson.'
He smiled and replied to Rena. "Sure then… I can help you if you really are in need of help." Daniel stretched his hand towards her.
Rena did the same and shook his hand "Thank you… Thank you very much! I am so grateful for the help!" She then went to help her friend up. Her friend was still lying unconscious on the ground, or at least she was acting like it.
After Rena gave her friend a health potion, she finally managed to get up from the ground.
"Lin, this is the person who helped us…" Rena introduced Lin to Daniel.
"O-oh! Thank You so much!" Lin shook hands with Daniel while thanking him.
"We can also join his party! He's decided to help us." Rena added, making her friend almost jump in joy.
"This man is a hero…" Lin tried to hug Daniel, but to her dismay, he swiftly dodged her by moving to the side. "Uh?" She had a questioning look on her face.
"Oh! I am sorry about that, my leg slipped." Daniel made an unbelievable excuse, but the girls couldn't do anything about it and decided to leave it.
'Humph! We will just make him fall for us and then...' the girls grinned wickedly at the same time.
