27 Treasure (1)

Daniel opened his eyes when he heard the cracking sound of something. "Yes!!" He saw the visible cracks on the shackles. They were about to break apart.

After a few seconds, another cracking sound came from the shackles. They were now completely shattered by the energy blade. The man joyfully ran towards Daniel, helping him get up. Daniel had to pay a heavy price for using the energy blade. His mental energy was completely exhausted, making it difficult for him to stay conscious.

The man moved closer to Daniel. Closing his eyes, he touched Daniel's forehead with his index finger. Without breaking a sweat, the man gathered a large amount of energy on his fingertip, transferring it to Daniel's mind. It was like a kid's play to an expert like him. He didn't have to struggle like Daniel when controlling the flow of his energy.

"Ahh!" Daniel felt something enter his forehead. His mind became calm upon coming in touch with the energy. Soon, his mental strength was fully restored and all his fatigue had disappeared.

He quickly got up from the ground and patted the dust off his clothes. He suddenly remembered about Lumi. He whipped around and ran to Lumi who was still lying unconscious on the ground. He saw her struggling to breathe air, making him worried about her. He turned his gaze to the man with slight wrinkles of worry visible on his face.

"Don't worry, I will heal her." Said the man, beaming joyfully at Daniel. He was being good to his benefactor who had returned him his freedom. Moreover, his power was not taken from him and he was still just as powerful as before.

He calmly kneeled on the ground and slowly moved his hand towards Lumi. Touching her head with his hand, he moved the green energy in his body to Lumi's body, healing all her wounds and injuries in a matter of seconds.

Soon, Lumi's body moved slightly. She opened her eyes, staring at Daniel and the mysterious man made of energy. Regaining consciousness, she quickly jumped back in defense, hiding behind her master's leg.

"Aha, don't be scared, Lumi. He's not our enemy." Daniel chuckled, patting her fluffy head.

"Nya-!" Lumi gently rubbed her body against his leg, showing

love and affection towards her beloved master.

Daniel carried her up, gently putting her on his shoulder. "Now rest here." He said, caressing her soft fur. Lumi yawned before closing her eyes and falling asleep. Daniel smiled and turned his head towards the man.

First, he asked him, "May I know the senior's name now?" He curiously asked. In reply, the man only nodded his head and smiled. "It's Nicolas but you can also call me Senior Nico." He spoke with a wide grin on his face.

"May I know your name as well, young man?" Nico asked Daniel with a polite, friendly tone. Even though he was stronger, older, and more experienced than Daniel, he was still courteous towards him. He wasn't the type of guy who would forget someone's kindness and not repay the favor.

"Yes, it's Fate." Daniel stretched his hand forward for a handshake. Nico did the same and shook his hand. "Thanks for the help, Fate!" He said, showing his gratitude.

"No problem," Daniel replied politely before getting to the main topic. "So, will senior Nico help me get the treasure now?" A trace of seriousness was evident on his face. Nico pondered for a while before responding. "Yes, why not. As you're my benefactor, I can at least do this much for you."

Nico gave a reassuring smile to Daniel, making him thrilled. Walking near the wall to the left, he lightly put his hand on a particular brick. The whole place started trembling violently but nothing was damaged. Soon, the wall before Nico parted, a narrow passageway becoming visible.

Nico gestured at Daniel to follow behind him and entered the passageway. Daniel nodded and followed behind him, observing the strange glowing moss on the rocky passageway. Its bright green color, illuminated the entire path, making it easier for them to navigate the passageway.

In the passageway, Daniel noticed some skulls and skeletons lying on the ground. He hurried and got closer to Nico, afraid that some horror monster would pop out of the wall and hunt him.

'I don't deserve to be called an adult… thankfully, no one knows about my wild thoughts.' He sighed in relief.

Soon, they arrived at the other side of the passageway. It was a small room which hardly had anything in it. But there was a small, flat rock on top of which was a shabby small chest, completely black. It gave off a mysterious aura, sending chills running down the spines of both of them. Daniel took a step back, but Nico walked towards the chest, resisting the wildly strong aura. He noticed the mysterious aura clashing with Lumi's Divine energy. He was puzzled at the moment, how could an ordinary creature's aura be on par with 'that' person's aura? He was both amazed and bewildered at the same time, making it challenging for him to think clearly.

After a while, he noticed something odd. He stared at Lumi with widened eyes, utterly shocked by his discovery. "A legendary being?! No… it is even greater than a legendary creature… a sealed one, perhaps?" He exclaimed excitedly and startled Daniel.

Daniel stared at him momentarily before opening his mouth to answer. "Y-yes…" He just replied with a yes, not revealing anything else. He had no reason to hide it from Nico, afterall.

"We will have to discuss that later…" Nico gave him a serious look. Daniel understood the gravity of his words and slightly nodded.

"Now, we have the chance to open this chest and get the treasure, but it all depends on the thing inside this chest if it wants you to be its master or not."

Said Nico, moving even closer to the chest. The violent aura from before had diminished after clashing with Lumi's aura. "Come closer, this is the chance for you." Nico gestured at Daniel to come closer, not wanting to wait another second.

Daniel nodded and moved closer to the chest. He put his hands on the lid, slowly trying to open it. Suddenly, he remembered about Lumi's buff of luck and woke her up from her sleep. "Nya-?" Lumi tilted her head in a puzzled manner. "Lumi, use buff of Luck on me!" Daniel commanded her. Lumi nodded and did her work before going back to sleep.

[Lumi has cast a Divine buff of Luck on you!]

"Great, it's time to start!" Slowly applying force on the chest's lid, he tried opening it. Suddenly, a bright glow emerged from the chest, making it difficult for Daniel to see the contents.

"Huh?!"
