29 Stone

Opening the teleportation book, Daniel selected the forest of whispers. He was teleported to the forest with Nico and Lumi. He walked near the dungeon's rocky entrance, Nico following behind him.

Lumi was silently sitting on Daniel's shoulder, enjoying the free ride. Upon arriving near the entrance, Daniel put her down on the ground and told her to walk by herself. He didn't want her to become a lazy fox who knew nothing except sleeping all day.

After hesitating and complaining momentarily, Lumi noticed that her charming face wasn't working on Daniel today. With a sad puppy face, she decided to walk by herself instead of relying on her cruel master. Nico rolled his eyes and said. "This fox is a bit too lazy for a legendary creature…"

Lumi glared at him, showing murderous intent towards him. Nico chuckled and prepared to enter the dungeon. Daniel had already entered the dungeon, not having the luxury to waste time.

As Nico and Lumi entered the dungeon, they heard a shout targeted at them. "You lazy people! We need to work faster to earn more money!" Daniel yelled, slicing a shadow knight's throat.

"Lazy? Is that what you think?" Nico retorted, his voice echoing through the cave. With a swift gesture, he summoned a spell. A dark energy sphere materialized, hovering menacingly above the shadow knights.

As Nico moved his hand, the sphere descended onto the ground and exploded, causing a powerful shockwave. Daniel took cover behind a rock and closed his ears while Lumi silently watched from the sidelines, unaffected by the explosion. Nico smirked, observing the shadow knights perish. In the blink of an eye, the battlefield was swept clean of the shadow knights.

"Are you crazy, I almost died?!!" Daniel shouted at Nico, coming out of his cover. "Ahaha…" Nico decided that it was best to act dumb and scratched his head. Daniel glared at him, a strong murderous intent flowing out.

"You better not do this the next time!" He warned and walked away, heading towards area 2. Nico and Lumi followed behind him and they finally arrived at area 2.

Daniel was already killing the shadow bats, piercing their leathery skin like butter. During the battle, he suddenly remembered a useful skill he had.

"Summon Golem!" He shouted, waiting for a response from the system.

[Summoning 1 Rock Golem - lv. 1]

[The Golem will share exp with the host and it will level up as it gains exp!]

The ground started shaking violently and a rocky creature emerged from the ground. It was 5 metres tall and had a sturdy rock body. "Raahh!!" As soon as it came to life, it roared and smashed the shadow bats, grabbing them by their feet.

Daniel was amazed by its strength, he could only imagine its strength level when it levels up. The bats tried to attack the Golem but their attacks were futile. The Golem effortlessly crushed the heads of the bats like crushing eggs.

Soon, only a few bats remained, struggling to get away from the Golem. Daniel, Nico and Lumi quietly watched from the sidelines, awed by the golem's strength. "Such a useful companion you have…" Nico praised the Golem.

"True…" Daniel nodded in agreement. A moment later, he got a notification from the system.

[Congratulations! Rock Golem's level has risen to 2!]

"Finally! It's really hard to level this Golem up…" Daniel celebrated after the Golem levelled up. He had been waiting for this moment for half an hour.

After 5 minutes, the Golem finally finished off its final target and walked towards Daniel. It didn't have any expression on its face and stood silently, waiting for the command.

"Hmm… I should name you first..." Daniel pondered for a while before coming up with a good name. "Stone! Your name will be stone!" As soon as he said it, Nico whipped towards him, his eyes wide in disbelief.

"Stone?! What kind of name is that?!" He wanted to beat Daniel into a pulp, but he resisted the urge to do so. "What's wrong? Is it a bad name?" Daniel asked, acting like an ignorant brat.

"I- nevermind… it's no use arguing with you… do whatever you want!" Nico sighed and let go of it. He calmed his mind and started heading to area 3.

Daniel shrugged and followed him. Lumi giggled and climbed onto the shoulder of Stone. She finally had a new ride. Stone slowly started following Daniel, observing the surroundings for any dangers. He was just like a bodyguard following his master.

When they finally arrived at area 3, they spotted a Large, monstrous shadow centipede. It was time for the boss monster hunt. Daniel prepared his great sword while the others made their own preparations. This time, Nico didn't want to interfere in the battle and wanted to check the strength of Daniel's team.

The centipede glared at Daniel before rushing towards him. Its speed was really fast, making it hard for Daniel to react. The Golem jumped forward and grabbed the centipede's head and smashed it onto the ground.

Daniel leaped into the air and stabbed its head with his greatsword, but his attack didn't affect it much. He quickly retreated, realising that his normal attacks won't work on the centipede.

Lumi went near Nico, enjoying the show from the sidelines. "Ugh… this lazy creature." Nico frowned, staring at Lumi.

Stone kept fending the centipede off, giving Daniel enough time to plan his next attack. The battle wasn't easy this time, because Lumi hadn't cast her buff and debuff yet.
