1 Lady Luck! [Edited]

"Uhh... Where the heck am I?!" Daniel's eyes slowly fluttered open as he sensed the cold breeze touching his skin. He observed the surroundings and found himself in the middle of a forest where nothing but trees and bushes stretched as far as the eyes could see.

"Dang, I managed to survive the bandit attack... but at what cost?" He groaned in pain, looking at his tattered clothes and broken Armor.

"Who knew a rare quest could go that wrong?" He felt regretful after accepting the quest from the blacksmith.

"Well, there is no point in complaining now... What's done is done, I can't do anything about it anymore." He quickly got up from the ground and scanned the surroundings for any dangers.

"Who knows if the bandits are still searching for me..." He had to be cautious just in case the bandits were still looking for him.

"That's it! I have to hide somewhere." He came up with an idea. He could use the forest to his advantage and hide from the bandits.

" Let's g-"

Just as he prepared to run away, he heard a rustling sound from the bushes.

"Huh?!" He slowly walked closer to the bushes, keeping his guard up.

'What could it possibly be?' He wondered what the source of the noise was. He looked behind the bushes and found a small, cute red fox lying on the ground. It was severely wounded and was bleeding heavily.

"Huh? A fox?" Daniel pondered as he caught the sight of a small creature nearby, his eyes lit up.

A small orange fox with sleek, vibrant fur. Its orange fur soft and fluffy, with a warm hue reminiscent of autumn leaves.

Its ears adorned with a coat of jet-black fur. These ears lay low, swivelling at the slightest sound. However, despite its appearance that would make any human kneel in front of its cuteness, its body was visibly full of wounds making anyone heartbroken, distressed, and angry at who made it go through the suffering, and Danial was no different.

"It's such a lovely little creature! I wonder how it got such deep wounds." He was instantly captivated by its charm and couldn't resist the urge to put his large hand gently on its body; wanting to pet it, but not wanting to irritate its wounds.

"Here, where did you come from little one?" He asked, and gently took out a bottle of potion and poured it on his cupped hand. He slowly moved his hand closer to the fox's mouth, feeding the potion to it.

*Sniff! Sniff!*

The fox's nose trembled, slowly opening its mouth, stretching its small tongue to lick the potion that made its jaw drop open little by little before completely devouring it.

After a few seconds, Daniel noticed something weird happening to the fox. "Hmm...?"

Light was gradually enveloping its body.

"What is happening here?!" He stepped back after seeing a bright aura covering the fox's entire body.

He had never witnessed this type of event occuring in this game. "Perhaps... Could this be a hidden event!!?" He suddenly got goosebumps at the thought of it.

A hidden event was more like a jackpot event. Anyone who comes across a hidden event was fated to become a successful player.

Even most of the top rankers only made it to the leaderboards because they had encountered a hidden event in the early stages of the game.

Soon, Daniel witnessed an event that was going to change the entire game. Something that was never witnessed before was unfolding right in front of his eyes.

"W-what is...?!" He became cautious, walking back as the golden light around the fox started glowing brighter and more lustrous.

"I have to keep my guard up." He was ready for anything that was about to come at him, extending his hand for his sword.

As time passed, his heartbeat grew faster and faster. Soon, the golden light started dispersing.

The bright aura enveloping the little fox had disappeared into thin air. The fox was fully healed and she was joyfully licking Daniel's hand.

However Daniel was in a daze. His whole body trembled at the sight of a gorgeous lady floating in the air. The lady was so beautiful that even role models paled in comparison.

She was someone with a charm that far surpassed even elves. Daniel could only describe her dazzling presence by one word. "Goddess!"

He could only think of her as a goddess because such beauty and charm was beyond the limits of any other race to ever exist.

He stared at her golden eyes, her gaze sent chills down his spine. It was undoubtedly the mighty presence of a goddess!

The concept of gods was revealed in Divine Path as soon as it was released in the market.

The Divine Path had countless gods. Gods also had rankings but they were not players. They were NPCs with unfathomable powers.

Their myths and legends were known throughout the world. Everyone around the world had a certain god they wished to follow and worship.

The one standing before Daniel was undoubtedly... "Goddess of luck!" Daniel screamed inside his mind. He was stuck in his place, not being able to lift a finger.

"Human, you have done a holy deed by saving my divine fragment which was lost a long time ago. To show my gratitude, I shall reward you generously." The Goddess spoke.

Her voice was melodious and pleasing to the ears. She was just like an angel, perfect in every aspect.

Daniel couldn't help keeping his eyes off her. She was someone who was praised and worshipped by countless people, and he was facing her right now.

"I-I saved your divine fragment?! What do you mean by that?" Daniel could barely speak as he kept stuttering.

"Yes, you saved my divine fragment which was born in the form of a fox." The goddess slowly pointed at the little red fox.

"T-this fox is your divine fragment?!" Daniel exclaimed. He was puzzled and feeling pressured at the moment.

"Yes, this fox is my divine fragment, it is a part of my soul. It was unfortunately lost a long time ago, during the war of Heaven and Hell." The goddess made a saddened expression before turning her head towards the fox.

"This shall be your reward. Now that I am reunited with the divine fragment, I can keep it safe even if it is not with me. Now, I can't interfere with the mortal world for too long, so I will have to return back to heaven. Make sure to keep this divine fragment close to you with utmost care!" She suddenly started fading away as she smiled at Daniel.

"What just happened?!" Daniel was stunned after seeing the notification panels popping up.

The series of messages drove Daniel crazy. He was flabbergasted by everything that was happening.

"A-am I dreaming!!!?" He pinched his cheeks only to find out that this wasn't a dream.

"This is real!" He kneeled on the ground and kept staring at the messages.

"I am the luckiest person in the world!" He felt like screaming it out loud but he was aware of the fact that he was in a forest.

"I need to calm down... Let's check out the details first." He calmed his breath down before checking all the details.

A pet window popped up in front of his eyes. It had 3 slots and one was already filled. The red fox and its details were displayed on clicking it.

[Divine fox of Luck]

[Lv. 1]

[Race: Divine Fox]

[Rank: Legendary (sealed)]

[A fragment of Goddess Luck]

[Due to the influence of a mysterious power, the stats of the Divine Fox are sealed and will continue to grow with its owner]

[Due to the creature being at the legendary rank, all creatures nearby will fear its presence.]

[Brings enormous luck to the owner.]

These details were enough to make Daniel's jaw drop to the ground. A wide grin spread on his face as he realised the current situation. He had undoubtedly struck gold this time.

"This... Is a brand new opportunity! An opportunity that can turn my life around!" He understood the game very well. So far, only 4 ranks, which were Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic had been discovered in the game. No one had ever seen or heard of anything above the Epic rank.

This fox was beyond the imagination of any player alive. Daniel knew that he needed to hide everything that happened today from the world in order to keep his future secure.

While he was lost in his thoughts, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching.

"Shit! The bandits are here!" He noticed their presence and ran away, carrying the cute little fox with him.

"Hmm, Looks like he ran away..." The bandits were really sharp but they couldn't notice Daniel because of the stealth skill.
