8 Hobgoblin Hunt

Daniel decided not to use the same tactic as before. This time, the enemies were stronger and sharper, so he had to be extremely careful.

"Hmm.. I should go for one at a time." Gripping his sword tightly, he moved forward stealthily.

He hid behind a large rock, spying at the goblin warriors who were heading his way. Ahead of them were three separate pathways, so the goblin warriors had to split up into three groups. That's what Daniel was waiting for.

After a moment, the goblins split up into three groups. The group which was headed towards Daniel consisted of 4 members.

"It'll be fairly easy to take these guys on." Daniel came up with a plan for killing the goblin warriors.

*Tap tap* as the goblins got closer, Daniel could hear their footsteps clearly, giving him an idea of how far they were from him.

As soon as one goblin warrior went past the large rock, Daniel attacked it with full force and sent its head flying.

Blood splattered on the ground, making the scene extremely gross.

"Grahh-!" The goblins couldn't react in time, their comrade lost its life in the blink of an eye.

They were furious, their anger was at the peak. They jumped at Daniel with swords tightly gripped in their hands. They were several times more powerful than the goblin soldiers from before.

One of them managed to strike Daniel's left arm. He didn't lose much HP, but his arm started bleeding.

"Nya!" Lumi got enraged by witnessing some lowly monster hurting her master. She furiously leaped into the air, landing a blow on the goblin warrior who harmed Daniel.

"Great job, Lumi!" Daniel was surprised by how powerful Lumi was becoming. His heart got warm when he thought about how much Lumi cared for him.

'This might be a game, but Lumi is the best companion I've had in my entire life… I will never let you get harmed, Lumi… I promise.' He took a resolve to never let Lumi get hurt. He didn't say it out loud, but kept it in heart.

After Lumi finished another goblin, there were only 2 more left. Daniel prepared his skill "Sword Swing!" He shouted out loud. His sword turned red and a powerful aura emanated from it.

"Hyaaah!" He shouted as the sword struck the goblin warriors. The sword sliced the goblins in half, their organs became visible, blood splattered out like a fountain.

"Eww.." Daniel was disgusted by the sight. He quickly walked away from the scene, having a slight urge to puke.

"Now, I have to decide which way I will go first..."

"Lumi, you tell me… which way should I head first? Left or right?" He asked Lumi, believing in her decision making skills.

Lumi stretched her arm out to the left. "Nya-" almost as if telling him, "head there first, my loyal servant."

"Alrighty! Left it is." He quietly walked to the left side, making sure not to make any noise.

He could see the goblin warriors far away from him. They were walking straight, without looking back. Daniel decided to use the rocks as his advantage once again.

He swiftly ran behind a rock and peeked at the goblins who were having a long chat.

"Great! They are busy talking to each other." This made it even easier for Daniel to kill them.

"Luck's in my favour… oh wait… luck is resting on my shoulder." He looked at Lumi and laughed.

"Well, time to go." When he finally got close enough to the goblins, he rushed at them with Knight's charge, killing three of them in an instant.

"Hyap!" He swung his large sword, slicing the last goblin's neck.

"This bloodbath is disgusting, but I will get used to it soon…" Daniel always felt like puking whenever he saw such disgusting scenes.

"Now, I will go to the other side." He rushed to the other side where the last goblin group was.

After 5 minutes, he wiped them off from existence. None of the goblins could even scratch him after the last time.

"Hmm? Is it already the time for the boss room?" Daniel went back to the centre where all the pathways met.

He then went towards the boss room, which was in the opposite direction of where he came from.

He looked at the giant iron door in front of him. The iron door was not something fancy… It was just a simple, plain iron door. But the sturdiness of the door was far better than any normal iron door.

He put his hand on its surface and pushed it open. The door made a loud noise when it was opened.

There were dimly lit torches placed on every corner of the boss room. Large rocks and boulders surrounded the area. A giant goblin was sitting on a black throne made of bones on the other end of the area.

"Grahhhhh!" The Hobgoblin roared in anger. It was unwelcoming to the uninvited guests.

It was the king of this dungeon, the being who ruled over the powerful goblins of the dungeon. Its pride was hurt when a human managed to make it to his room. It was impossible to make it to the boss room without killing all of his people.

The Hobgoblin got up from the throne and charged at Daniel with a mace tightly clenched in his hands.

Daniel was ready to fight. He swiftly parried the Hobgoblin's attack. The goblin was taken aback when a human managed to parry its attack.

While the goblin was stunned for a moment, Daniel got behind it and leaped high into the air, attacking it's fully exposed back with his sword.

"Grahhh-!!" the goblin cried in pain. A large cut was made on its back, making it bleed heavily.

It growled in anger. The goblin went into a Berserk state. Its attack power increased significantly, and its movement became swift.

Its HP bar had already dropped to 50%. It was the result of Daniel's powerful attack.

"Hyahh!" Daniel activated Knight's charge after the cooldown was finished. He stabbed the goblin in the chest, dealing a critical hit to it.

"Only 5% health remaining!" Daniel gestured at Lumi to finish the Hobgoblin off.

"Nya!" Lumi leaped into the air, her sharp claws piercing through the Hobgoblin's neck.

"grahhh-!!" The Hobgoblin dropped dead on the ground with a loud cry.
