12 Who Completed the Task?

Thought Kong as he looked toward the Students. "Bai yang, Call off the Wolf. I finally got to see something useful!."

When he didn't got any response from the soldier he asked " What's wrong?"

Bai Yang: S-Sir, the s-spirit wolf.. it's g-gotten out of m-my control. That l-last a-attack might had forced him to go on rage. I-I can't control h-him__ t-t-the student, they are in danger!!!

Said the summoner in a grave tone while stuttering.

" what did you say?" said Zhan Kong and Xu MuSheng in a shock.

" Sir its completely ignoring my orders!" Said Bai Yang. Listening to that, the military official standing behind Zhan Kong spoke. " Sir, the students lives weren't in danger as the Spirit wolf was ordered to go soft on them.. But now that it's out of control and on rage…!"

Zhan Kong: We have to save them!

His set of magic equipment got activated and wings came out of his back. He flew a little up in the air. " I'm going ahead, assemble a squad and follow me. Bai Yang! Notify the medical team and make sure that they are ready on standby!"

Military Men: Yes Sir!

*a moment earlier*

As the barrier was conjured Zheng appeared before He yu, who had her eyes closed, he gave her a hug to calm her disturbing thoughts.

ZhengFan: You did well He yu! Just stay calm and protect the person you care about, OK.

She removed her head from his chest, and looked up.

He Yu: Huh?

ZhengFan: You didn't noticed, look there, Min is fine. You protected her with a water barrier.

After confirming that she hugged him back, and said " I-I was scared. I thought—"

"Oh c'mon, you know I'm here. Nobody can hurt my family" said Zheng. He saw Min coming their way. The trio started going toward the others to regroup. In the middle of their walk Zheng spoke.

ZhengFan: why did you used level 2 spell. That might have done some heavy damage to the wolf.

Zhou Min: You told me to keep the star path on standby, for the off chance-

Zhengfan: Still a level 2?

Zhou Min: for extra precautions….

As they arrived where the others were Including Xu Zhaoting, Zheng asked.

Zhengfan: You OK?

Xu Zhaoting: I'll live, not a big deal. Zhou Min you achieved level 2 that was an awesome attack… if you are on level 2, Zhengfan should also be, Why didn't you attacked that think Zhengfan , it would have been much more effective.

Zhengfan: Oh that, I was gauging how much that monster could take and still live but I can't make a decision.

We should stall long enough so the instructor have time to show up and take control of the situation. All we need is to work together in teams. Mu Bai and Xu Zhaoting would have to immobilize the target with their element and we'll surround it with fire wall.

ZhengFan: Don't attack and stay back. I don't want it to die. That wolf helped He Yu get used to monster and cast a spell in it's presence. A good start for her. I'll handle the situation from here.

Seeing there interaction Xu Zhaoting spoke in a low voice " Man I don't understand why every girl is fond of him." But to his surprise he got an unexpected response " Trust me, I'm asking my self this very question ever since I can remember" said Mu Bai while immersed in past memories.

Zheng slowly walk toward the wolf, who was looking around to find a pray. Students started to step back on instinct as the present sight of the monster looked even more intimidating.

As he was going forward he saw the wolf tried to run toward his right. He through a fire spell of level 1 at his max output, which created a fire wall 10 meter in straight line and were big and hot enough to force the wolf not even try to get close to it. He casted another fire spell toward his left to close that way as well.

That made the students who were hiding behind the big rocks while being scared to death have some hope of surviving this alive and go back home.

At the moment the wolf was completely trapped, as on his both sides the way was block with strong flames and behind him were rocks and in front of him was the very person, to whom it felt mortal danger. As this Spirit wolf was equivalent to a monster somewhere in-between 'Normal~ Strong Minion', which is considered stronger then an average level 3 Novice mage by a fair margin. It was not strong enough in his current injured state to get close to Zheng level 1 fire spell with a multiplier of 3.4

Zhang Fan: Well, you did an excellent job. And even got some heavy injuries. So I'll give you a very special gift outside of what I promised.

He moved his right hand toward his left hand's wrist. There he broke a band strip from one end, unrolled it from his wrist up to 1 layer and broke the second end as well. This band was enchanted for a whole 6 months non stop with various enchantments powered by 'Source'. After Activating it, he threw it toward the wolf's neck. The moment it got near enough, it expanded and got on to the wolf's neck.

That immediately calmed him down and completely bypassed the summoner's ability to gave him orders anymore. Still the wolf kept his act of being out of control like a berserk beast and growling at Zheng, as the instructor and the squad might arrive at any moment.

And just like that, the instructor Kong came straight flying, behind him was Ting yue, who seeing that situation under control also calmed down. And after that the squad team also arrived.

Zhan Kong: 'Those flames, they are way stronger then what a level 2 should be, coming very close to level 3. Did he casted that. From what I heard from their teacher talking, there was another kid on Fire level 2, still the power this high? '

Even in this situation Zhan Kong's eyes were still on the flames.

Zhengfan: Oh, you guys came. Call your summoner guy to send this beast back to its dimension.

In the background the students were in joy to survive an encounter with a monster seeing the teachers and instructor's team.

Also this summoned beast is much stronger then any other normal summoned monster. He was sure that the beast was scared from his 'Boss'.

Bai Yang: Boss Zhan Kong, can you remove the flames. I'll checkup on my summon.

Zhan Kong: Those aren't mine!!

Zheng Snapped his fingers and the wall of flame on the right died down.

Bai Yang: ' No! It was actually him!!'

Thought Bai with a shocked expression.

Zhengfan: C'mon, wakeup, send him back to his dimension so he can rest.

Bai Yang instinctively send the wolf back to the summoning dimension.

Zhan Kong: 'Such fine control'

Thought Zhan Kong. "You're very outstanding. Why don't you join my army when you graduate?" Zhan Kong suddenly gave a proposal which attracted attention from the near by individuals.

He dispelled the fire wall and walked toward the instructor and said " here's my number, call me anytime you need my assistant and I'll be there." Saying that he went back toward Min and He Yu.

At the moment her boost factor was at a shocking 19.47 . Meaning her level 1 mid-tier spell will come close to the half of what a normal High-tier level 1 should be.

The next day he went to the hunter association to see if there are any monster's reported nearby city. He put on a black full face mask through which only eyes are visible which has a purple lightning bolt on its left eye And no other design on it. This mask was the identity of 'Lieren'. The guy from the city hunter squad saw him coming toward them, whom he recognized because of the mask said to the girl standing beside him.

???: Ke, look that guy over there is Lieren. And he is coming toward us.

City hunter Ke: What!! The lightning expert? I never even saw him before.

??: Neither do I, I was only able to recognize that mask of his. As I have heard about it many time.

Zheng walk past the mages standing in line and directly went toward the handsome guy.

ZhengFan: Hay their! I heard you were recruiting ?

The handsome guy, after turning toward him said.

???: Sir Lie Ren!! Glad to see you here, are you considering on joining our squad?

Said the city hunter guy in a polite tone, and gestured the girl besides him to get their boss here.

This also gained the attention of mages standing in the line. And some of them recognized the newcomer and lost the hope of joining the squad if that guy also took part.

As they just moved toward the door. It opened revealing the captain coming out with a happy face.

??? : Mr. Lieren!! Pleasure to see you here. My name is Xu Dahuang the captain of city hunter squad.

Captain Xu: Oh yes, it would be our honour if an expert such as yourself were to join us.

Captain Xu: Sure, Sure. That won't be any problem. You could even work part time if you like.
