The Day of Magic Exam

One and half month was left for the semester exams, students were working extra hard to achieve great result to enter the top class and get a chance to obtain stardust magic devices to increase training speed. As the days were passing by most of the students achieved 5 stars for that star path. And some were able to take it to 6 stars with the exception of 3 who achieved 7 stars in the last few days before the exam would take place.

There was a particular girl among those 3 who had reached 7 stars, instead of testing her magic release she was solidifying her foundation and meditating to increase her capability of producing magic. This way her magic capability will be better then most mages.

There was also an Ice prince guy who wanted to take the first place but constantly having negative thoughts when he compare himself with Zhengfan as the later was already able to easily cast level 1 spell a while back.

The other guy who was able to achieve 7 stars was Xu Zhaoting, the 'only' guy in the whole school who awakened one of the most destructive element 'thunder'. As he was constantly expected to achieve great feet. He was working hard to give his all in the exam.

*Tian Lan Magic high school*

In class homeroom teacher Xue MuSheng was telling his students the procedure through which the exams will me taken.

Teacher MuSheng: The star sensing crystal ball is an item that's able to determine the amount of magic energy you have. The greater amount of energy you have, the brighter the crystal ball shines and we will score you accordingly to the amount of brightness produced. Ranging from the lowest D, to the highest A. Something that I'd like to point out is, those who got D will get expelled on the spot.

Mu Bai: Teacher, then how about magic release? Are we not testing on that?

Listening to that question some students had dejected expressions.

Teacher MuSheng: Considering that it is most certainly very difficult for students to be able to complete 7 Stars in a year's time. Therefore, magic release exam is only optional. However if students are able to complete that optional exam, that student will be able to get into our Elite class, and will be able to use the magic equipment that our school provides.

Students: Wow, the magic equipment! That's something that can boost our magic training speed!

Student (boy): I wish to enter the elite class too.

Said the student in low voice.

Student (Girl): Hay, you got your 7 stars already?

Asked the girl sitting behind him.

Student (Boy): Nope..

The student said in a self mocking tone.

Mu Bai: looks like I'll be getting a magic equipment very soon.

*On the Day of magic exam"

Students wear standing line-up in their own classes column in a big ground of their school in front of the stages, where the principal of their school came with 3 individuals from Mu family, out of them was Mu he beside him were Mu Zhuoyun the Patriarch of Mu clan along with his only daughter Mu Ningxue, a rare genius Ice magician who came to observe the next successor of this school.

She was a girl in her sixteens, having long hair white as snow, pale white skin and light blue eyes a very beautiful face. She had small breast which perfectly suits her curves. She was warring white shirt with pink ribbon on the collar, red Coat and red skirt. All in all she looks stunningly beautiful.

The principal came in front of the mic.

Principal Zhu: Alright student listen up. Today's is the day for your yearly magic examinations. And it's also the time to testify all your efforts. We are proud to have Professor Mu here to be our inspector. And also our school's most outstanding student- Mu Ningxue, who has already been scouted by the Magic University. She shall demonstrate us the strength of true magic. Now we'll invite Professor Mu to give his speech.

Saying that he moved out of the way of mic to allow Professor Mu to speak.

Mu Zhuoyun: Good day everyone! I am honored to be here as the exam inspector. At the same time I am here to witness the next successor of the school--.

In the background a student spoke.

Student (boy): Wow… She's such a beauty! How can someone be so cold and beautiful at the same time!

Student (girl): Don't offend her! She is are true ice mage who can release ice magic!

Student 2(boy): The Magic University has already scouted her ever since she was only 15! What kind of a man can be her match?

As the students were talking among themselves. ZhengFan's thought were occupied to detect what's wrong with his sweetheart. She definitely seems to have some sort of thing troubling her.

ZhengFan: 'Since when did she became this serious. There's definitely something wrong with her, I could somewhat feel her uneasiness. What is the problem, let's see in her consciousness.'

Thinking that he used the 'Source' to bypass the restrictions to look inside,

'What!!! C'mon she is in that much danger and still showing as if nothing wrong. Think I'll have to meet her alone to put some sense into her brain. Her own powers are very dangerous thing to have and on top of that she is forced to restrict her emotions which would decrease the danger of getting out of control and avoid unnecessary pain. My sweetie you are suffering this much in silence we really need to have a talk.'

Principal Zhu: Alright, Let's thanks professor Mu for her speech. Next we shall have Mu Ningxue to do her Magic demo.

Ningxue came in front of the orb, put both of her hand and released her ice magic, The magic froze the crystal ball and spread straight towards the assembled student on the front line, in front of the Orb.

The students on the front line retreated backward on instinct as the ice was approaching. The Crystal ball couldn't handle the output and broke in half.

Dumbstruck students: -Is that for real?! – wow that's too Amazing!. -She's so strong!.

*Clapping ~Clapping~ Clapping*

The dumbstruck students starting praising her.

ZhengFan: 'My sweetheart is actually quite strong, well that's a plus. She deserve some 'extra' rewards.'

After that The exams official started and students were called one by one, some students who's score got D were dropped out and those above were promoted, students came on ranking A were transferred to elite class.

In that time a girl who didn't had enough confident in herself was very hesitant.

He Yu (girl): I am so done for…! This time I'm definitely gonna get expelled…' Then how will I see my senpai again' …. Teacher Xu, I might not see u again the next semester…!

Teacher MuSheng: Don't panic. As long as you practiced hard enough, you shouldn't be expelled.

The Examiner: Up next He yu.

She came on the stage in front of the Crystal ball and took a deep breath. She moved her eyes one last time toward her senpai and then placed her hand on the Crystal ball. The ball measured her magic energy and shined with bright color.

Seeing that the examiner spoke. "He Yu. A"

The moment she understood she actually got an A she started jumping happily.

He Yu: I got an A! An A!!

She came down from the stage happily.

The Examiner: Zhang Xiao Hou.

Xiao hou, went on the stage And also got an A. He tried to take magic release test but couldn't cast the spell even after arranging 7 Stars for star path.

As the students were making fun of him Teacher Tang yue advised Xiao Hou that he could use some adjusting and will be able to release his magic.

After that comes Mu Bai turn, he went on the stage with great confident and put his hand on the Crystal ball. The Crystal ball shined brighter the what it does for A ranking. Seeing that many students were surprised and were in awe.

The Examiner: Mu Bai. S

Hearing the Examiner He Yu was confused.

He Yu: hay, isn't A the best score?

Classmate (boy): Mu Bai got an S because he's score is much greater then our average score!

Mu Bai: Sir, I'd like to do the magic release exam!

In the background Mu he was trying to persuade the Patriarch of Mu main branch as well as his daughter.

Mu he: Big brother, Ningxue. He's the one I've been talking about- Mu Bai. He's great in every way, be sure to take a look.

Mu bai stood in front of the wooden target with a distance of 10 feet and took a deep breath.

The Second Examiner: you may begin.

Mu bai gathered 7 star for the star path and successful released_ " Ice spread!!" Said Mu Bai. The spell froze the path in the straight line and manage to froze half of the target.

The Examiner: Ice Magic release score: B.

Some of the students who hadn't seeing such feet had their mouth wide open.

Students: Wow he's strong!

Teacher MuSheng: As expected from the Mu family. He's able to achieve such abilities in only a year's time. He is a promising youngster.

Mu He: Big Brother, Ningxue. How do you think of him?

Mu Zhuoyun: Ningxue, what do you say?

Mu Ningxue: He's ok.

She said while looking straight.

Hearing his daughter Mu Zhuoyun slowly shook his head sideways.

The exams continued and after some time it was Zhou Min turn she came With determined look on the stage.

She looked at ZhengFan and kept her eyes on him and placed her hands on the crystal ball. The crystal ball shined brighter then Mu Bai's but a normal person couldn't make much difference.

The examiner: Zhou Min, S

Principal Shu: Very good. Her radiance was even brighter then Mu Bai's truly an exceptional talent.

Except some of her classmates many students were surprised to get another S rank in the whole school. She also requested to take magic release test as well.

She readied herself in front of the target. She made a star path quite easily and raised her right hand toward the target. The spell was fired like a bullet and exploded upon contact and nearly destroyed the whole target. This greatly surprised the whole student body as well as a certain some one.

The Examiner: Fire Magic release score: A+

Mu He: ' What! That wasn't in my calculation. Damn it!! I should have paid more attention. Otherwise I could have made preparations just as I have done for that 'brat', Who's in my way. No worries I've got an even bigger score which he won't be able to achieve, even if he's suppose to be stronger. He will definitely won't get that top place in front of 'her'.

Thought Mu He with a straight face but from the inside he wasn't happy about anything what is happening, as things aren't going as he had predicted.

Students: Wow!! She is even stronger then Mu Bai!! _ She actually got A+ which could mean her magic release is on a different level then what can be considered A.

Student (Girl): I don't think anyone's ever gotten an A in magic released through the entire School history! Much less A+

As the students were praising her, meanwhile there were some classmate's of her who had different thought

Student (Girl): 'Fufufu, she actually manage to win the bet.'

Mu Bai: ' What! How can she have such major improvement in a short time, she wasn't even close to me till the Mids. What's the cause of this.'

ZhengFan: ' Hohoho she actually manage to get herself 3 Dates in total. What an interesting girl. Think, I'll have a talk with her after I'm done with Ningxue. Her score would have attracted some unwanted Mu's to put their extra large nose in other's business if I hadn't taken "countermeasure" from the beginning'

The Examiner: Mo ZhengFan.

Students Fan( Girls/boys): Go Senpai! Best of luck.

Before Zhengfan moved the Orb inspector reached out to the crystal ball secretly placed a black stone under the Orb.

Zhengfan walked towards the Orb on the stage. He took a quick glance towards a certain someone and thought.

Zhengfan: 'Ooo Uncle what have you in stored for me this time, guess that doesn't matter anymore. You'll very soon be going on a tour of what every living thing is scared to death.'

He placed his hands on the orb and send a little bit of energy to test it and realized it was absorbed very quickly. He started sending enough energy to make crackling sound enough to be noticed by the Tang yue and Ningxue.

Tang yue & Ningxue: ' That glimmer just now!'

The moment black stone reached its capacity it created a spark and damaged the orb. But before the orb was damaged it showed A ranking.

Students: You got to be kidding, right? -- He got only an 'A' what that Orb doing? _ That ball is broken __he is suppose to be stronger then even Mu Bai and Zhou Min.

Some students started gossiping among themselves.

Seeing that measuring device showed A ,confused ZhengFan's "Fan Group" as it was well known to them that he was the best guy in the whole school in every way. Just as the examiner was about to say something teacher Tang yue spoke.

Teacher Tang yue: I disagree with the score. The Orb seems to be at fault. I'd like to request for a re-examination.

Fan group: Yes Change the crystal ball and do a re-exam. That's not a real score.

The Fan Group took the opportunity of a teacher speaking and said after her.

Mu Ningxue: I also suspect The Crystal ball to be malfunctioning. We should do the re-exam.

Mu He: 'Tch- That woman Tang Yue have the guts to ruin my plan'

He controlled his expression and said " Since Mu Ningxue said so. Then the crystal ball must be faulty! How did you all let this happen? That ball might have gone rusty, You there! Go bring one over!."

Mu He faked his anger and said the very person who put the black stone on his orders under that place to change the ball. In reality what he wanted was to remove the Traces of the broken stone.

To his bad luck the principal already motioned one of the exam conductor to examine the ball.

Examiner: Sir! There is something beneath the orb.

Said the examiner as he lifting the Orb. " Sir, we discovered fragments of shadow stone beneath the Orb."

Principal Zhu: Shadow stone? To think there would be such a dark turn of event. I will be sure to investigate the root of this matter!

He looked at ZhengFan and said " As for you, Student Mo ZhengFan… Please go ahead for a re-examination.

ZhengFan nodded and Waited for the examiner to fetch another Orb.

As the Orb was replaced with a new one. ZhengFan placed both of his hands and release his complete Fire element energy on the Orb. The ball showed a brightness like never before and the measuring device displayed a ranking of—

The Examiner: Mo Zheng Fan, S___ +…..,S+

The Examiner himself was greatly shocked as its extremely rare to have such high score at such a beginner stages that he couldn't say in one go.

Ningxue showed a happy expression for a bit listening to score then returned to normal

The students were in shock as well with the exception of few who were simply in awe.

Teacher Tang Yue: 'hahahaha why am I not surprised, This boy's power is so great that it exceeded what the Orb can measure…..'

ZhengFan: I would like to take the magic release test.

Listening to his voice the examiner nodded his head.

He stood in a distance of 12 feet, raised his right hand to the side to gather a star path, the moment it was completed, fire manifested on his hand. He pointed the fire toward to the target and released it.

*Fwoom*

Upon contact the target was completely burned down.

Witnessing a great spectacle of power students were in awe, the examiner were lost of words. The teachers of his class were proud to have such a promising young mage with a bright future who would eventually be one of the top mage of their generation.

The Examiner: Fire Magic releases score ,S

Ningxue couldn't stop smiling hearing the examiner.

Teacher Tang yue: 'Good, he manage to lower the output to an acceptable level. I'm happy he listened to me and practiced output control. That talent of his shouldn't be made public this soon.'

Xiao Hon: No 1 of our School! He is the top student of our school. Kunsan See that, Big boss Fan is on top in both test, Learn a thing or two.

Principal Zhu: Seems like Mo ZhengFan used to be a member of the Mu family as well?

Said Principal Zhu as they walked close to the stage.

Mu He: Haha, He's merely a driver's son. I wouldn't say so for that.

Principal Zhu: He was able to become so outstanding even without the support of a prominent background, having enormous efforts put in aside this also means that he is highly talented. He is surely the best young lad our school has seen.

Mu Zhuoyun: Principal Zhu, you're right. Our TianLan High School truly has no shortage of exceptional students! Mo ZhengFan your talent with fire are really something else. We just so happened to have resources available for Fire mages, you just come to train at Mu Family manor in the future, I will grant you further resources to train with.

Listening to Zhuoyun, ZhengFan faced towards him.

ZhengFan: Hay there, Old man.

Said ZhengFan as he waved his hands using only the middle and index fingers, while bending the other fingers at the second knuckle, and with the palm facing the individuals in front of him.
