(Part 13)
The maids gazed at her shocked. "Is this the way to call out a friend?!" they whispered which was as usual heard by Xianwu. Meizhen was always like this. Even in the past if things went against her thoughts, will or plans she would get upset over it for a long, long time. And, Xianwu would use the same method to lure her out because she never wanted Xianwu to get angry with her.
Now if it's the matter of her elder sister Lianhua, of course she would get worried and upset. From the time since Xianwu had known her, Lianhua had always taken care of Meizhen since her parent's death. It would be frustrating to know that she is in danger when Meizhen herself is in the heavenly realm living carelessly.
"One…" Xianwu began to count. The maids gulped with her sight. "Two…" she continued. "And… thr…" Xianwu counted however, before she could even continue the door had already opened while Xianwu was embraced into a big hug by the figure before her who cried harshly.
Grabbing a hold of herself from the impact, Xianwu gently hugged the figure back. A soft smile escaped her lips. "There, there, it's alright… no heed to cry anymore. I am here." She consoled. "Wah... Wah…" Meizhen cried on her shoulder unstopping while Xianwu gently brushed her hairs. For a few minutes the two of them stood on the entrance like that.
The maids eyeing Xianwu hurriedly went inside and kept the dishes in her room. "That really worked…!" whispered one of the in awe. "As expected of a best friend. She may have lost everything but to Meizhen she is always like before." Smiled the other. The maids gently bowing towards Xianwu soon left. "Come on, look at me." Xianwu spoke while lifting up her face to find a disheveled and unkempt Meizhen sobbing hard.
Wiping her tears off Xianwu commented, "To think I would look at the most prettiest and the wealthiest heavenly supreme crying in front of me like a little baby. Oh~ how lucky I am…" she teased.
Meizhen wiping her tears, tried to smile however, failed. "My- m-y Sis-ter… Xia-nwu…" she uttered, her voice hoarse breaking between sobs. Xianwu looked seriously, "Looks like it really did affect her this time…" she thought. "Alright, let's go inside. We'll talk about everything later. Just looking at you like this is making butterflies churn in my stomach." She told while pulling Meizhen into her room.
Closing the door behind Xianwu gently settled her on the chair. "Geez… look what you've done to yourself. Not eating or drinking anything nor, coming out of your room. Did you know how worried you had gotten me there?" she asked. Meizhen however sat silent without replying. Xianwu walking towards the dressing table pulled the basin in her arms while Fa ling picked up a comb. Following back towards Meizhen she kept it before her. "Come on, wash your face now. Then, we'll eat something together. Alright?" Xianwu asked. However, Meizhen won't move an inch.
"My sister… Xianwu. Where is she? Is she even alright? What would that demon do if he finds her? I am so scared. I want my sister back. Please help me…" she asked, as her hands starting to tremble once again while tears formed in her hazel eyes. Xianwu with a sigh sat before her. "Meizhen, don't worry. Nothing will happen. How come is it that you the one who asks everyone to be positive is thinking in such a negative manner?" she asked. "Moreover, I am going to find her. This was the heavenly mission I was assigned with this time." she continued.
Upon her last words Meizhen gazed at her perked up. "You are going? Really?" she asked while grabbing her hand. "Yes, I am… so don't worry about it. Just take care of yourself." Xianwu told while standing up. Taking the comb from Fa ling's grasp Xianwu stood behind her.
"But, Xianwu… my sister used her Heavenly warning spell which is only used in a dire situation. To think someone would make her use that, I am really scared. What if she is severely injured, or badly hurt or in a life and death situation. What am I supposed to do…?" Meizhen assumed.
Suddenly, Xianwu interrupted, "That's enough now, is your belief in your sister so minute that you won't even trust her strength? Jiu Lianhua is one of the pillars of the Heavenly city. And really powerful on top of that. There must be a reason for her to warn the Heavenly realm. Don't just jump onto useless conclusions." She scolded. Meizhen sat silent, reaching her hands into the water basin she washed her face.
Xianwu smiled, "Sigh… finally listening. I am glad." She thought while combing her hairs into a long ponytail. "Hey Xianwu…" Meizhen called. "Yes?" Xianwu asked back. 'Can I… go with you to find her?" she asked hesitantly. Xianwu blinked at her words. "Go with me…?" she asked once more. Meizhen nodded while turning around to face her, "I want to go with you. Can I? Please, I want to see her with my own eyes." She urged.
Xianwu soon remembered how Zhijun had told her about her failed attempts to go to the mortal world to find her as she took a deep breath replying, "No." Meizhen gazed at Xianwu in shock who kept the basin back. "No? But why?" she asked. "Because it's too dangerous. I can't allow you on this one." Xianwu replied. Meizhen without a further word sat back down with her expression blackened. "I know why you are saying no… it's because I am weak right? I can't stay near the Demon realm. I would die of the air surrounding it right?" she questioned downheartedly.
Xianwu clasping a plate of food sat before her while Fa ling patted her head. "You're right. You won't be able to breath. Only Heavenly Supreme or general with a vast heavenly power can travel inside the demon realm. Moreover, they should also be clever in hiding their powers or else before they could even go in. their presence would be detected and it would alert the whole realm for an intruder attack." Xianwu told while mixing the soup.
