Gruesome murder

Arya sat in on an arm chair in the expanse of the room where Maya has brought her and Derek into. She couldn't tear her eyes off the walls and furniture on the room.

The room was lavishly furnished, the walls were well covered with light purple paint which was also the same for the colours of more than half of the properties in the room. The sofa from across where she sat was also purple in colour and had a purple cushion.

On the table at one corner of the room were a few books and a stationery case, at lease half of the books had purple backs and the case was also purple in colour. There were minimal or next to no hangings on the wall.

The only portrait in the room was one of Maya and an old man. Arya assumed him to be her father or grandfather, she could not really tell. The portrait stood on the table which was a little distance from where she sat, which was why she couldn't make out the facial features of the man on it. Moving around someone's room felt disrespectful, so Arya made sure to remain on her seat until there was a reason to act otherwise.

From the way they had gone into the house, tiptoeing and sneaking through the back door. Arya rook it that they were either not supposed to be here or they were not welcome here. But still it was almost obvious that they were at Maya's room. The only plausible explanation to the scenario were that they were unwanted visitors.

Maya soon appeared at the doorway with two cups of steaming cocoa in her hands, she handed one over to Arya and sank into the sofa, sipping hers slowly to calm her nerves. Arya watched her as she sipped the contents of the cup and laid the cup on the stool in her front.

She reluctantly brought the cup to her lips and sniffed it for a good second before sipping its contents, when the warm streak of chocolate slid down her throat, she moaned in satisfaction.

She was not a fan of frolicking bwith strangers and freely accepting gifts from them but the cocoa really hit the spot and with what she had been through tonight she felt like she needed a breather and the cup of steaming cocoa was just right for the job.

After she sipped enough to warm herself back up, she stared at Maya once again then at Derek who lay on a bed with purple bedsheets. She just could not figure out what was going through her mind.

Bringing a stranger into her room and even going as far as putting them on the bed.

But her main focus was to know what the hell was going on. The night had been full of twists and turns and she had absolutely no idea whatever it is that was going on.

She was about to open her mouth to speak but Maya beat her to it

"Is the cocoa warm enough?" I would have brought you a cup of coffee but I didn't think you would consent to drinking such this late into the night?"

'Thanks for your consideration' Arya was going to say but she paused and stared at Maya for a reason. She went through the details of tonight's event in her mind.

After they had managed to track down Derek, Maya began muttering something about how this was not right, about how it was too early to turn back. Arya didn't understand all of this, so she let it be.

She at first didn't know it was Derek until she went close to join Maya then she saw it. There was a dead body by the side of the road. The body was partially hidden but anyone that went close enough and looked in that direction would be able to see it.

Arya covered her mouth and screamed into her hands quickly drawing Maya's attention. Maya left Derek ok the floor and rushed to see why Arya screamed. She was also stunned by the image she saw.

The body that lay on the floor was not clearly visible due to the dim lights in the area, but the scratch marks and gruesome injuries on it's body were visible.

She went close to the body and she gasped when she recognised who it was. It was Drake who lay near a path in a pool of his own blood.

Arya was quickly losing her mind, apparently there was a wolf out there, and that wolf was Derek and judging from the injuries on the host's body, Derek or his wolf form must have killed the poor host.

Maya stared back at Derek where he lay on the floor, she knew that Drake was strong, he was ranked at the upper C level, someone who was capable of holding his own in a fight.

If it was Derek's handwork, they needed to get him out of there and quickly before the military in charge of guarding the school during the competition came around.

"Let's go get Derek and get out of here" Maya motioned to Arya, the shock was still evident on her face. She stared in confusion when she heard the name. Then she looked at the smaller figure that lay where Maya had just come from.

"That's him?"

Maya nodded in response.

She bent close to Drake, then using her fingers she closed his eyes and brought out a little device with a red button from her cloth, she pressed on the red button and dropped the device where Drake lay.

Then moving quickly, she grabbed Derek and dragged Arya along. The next thing Arya knew was that they were at a huge house that looked like a mansion, the turmoil in her head didn't give her enough time to take a good look and admire the mansion they snuck in through a back entrance while trying to make as little noise as possible in order not to attract any attention.
