3 Chapter 3

As the game of mouse and cat went on between Ariel and the worm. The one thing that felt off about this chase, Was that Ariel was slowly but surely making distance from the worm.

Noticing the lack of trembling that the monstrosity was causing when it was coming after him. Ariel stopped in his tracks, Panting, And out of his expectation not tired.

Catching his breath, Ariel blinked upon seeing the small black dot in the periphery of his Vision, which was disappearing by the minute, as it seemed like the worm gave up on chasing him.

'Huh…. I guess the [superior physique] attribute has more potential than I thought, I have to test its limits while I'm here-'

Before he could think any further, A bad premonition welled up in his stomach. And as a warning, his newly obtained instincts flared up in response to a small tremble that ran through the ground beneath him.

As time slowed down to a crawl, With the world taking on a gray hue in his vision. Ariel's body moved on instinct in a way that he never thought was possible for humans.

In a quick motion, his torso bent in a surprising display of flexibility. In an attempt to dodge the danger that was prowling upwards to eat him in one bite.

As a moment later, A worm. Similar to the one that was chasing him, drilled its way out of the earth with its maws wide open.

Though Ariel avoided most of its maw due to his body moving automatically, One of his legs got caught in the beast's maw and with it moving at such a ferocious speed, it cleanly Tore off his leg from his body.

As Ariel's perception and awareness returned to normal from its focused state, With the scorching heat of the ground burning his back. His blurred eyesight cleared and with it came the pain.

"Aaarghhh!"

As a natural response, Ariel's body shot up abruptly from his laying position, immediately putting pressure on the grostique thump that was previously his leg.

Ariel continued pressuring his wound. With his face pale and covered in cold sweat, Clearly shaken by the experience, And along with the gnawing pain that was causing his insanity to almost slip. He was not in a good position.

'Ow, ow, ow! Fuck! This is hell, Fucking hell!' With his body beginning to shake like a fawn in front of a wolf. Ariel cursed in indignation. knowing it was futile to complain about these things, He just swallowed his words and tried to think of a way out of this hellhole.

After a few moments his regeneration kicked in and with him counting the last time it healed his arm. He knew it would take exactly a minute to completely heal, giving him enough time to go over his not-so pleasant situation.

Ignoring the familiar scratch around his thighs, Ariel began thinking..

'Alright calm down, you chose this. So you have to deal with it. My first priority is learning how to use this new strength of mine, because I noticed I could have done a better job avoiding that surprise attack if I had any semblance of control over my body. I can't leave everything to my instincts, though it can be helpful. What's the use of instincts when you can't even control them?'

Sensing the pain subside. Ariel took a deep breath to get his bearings before his instincts buzzed again in warning as all Ariel could do was turn his eyes up and curse.....

'FUCK!!'

And the next thing filling his vision was darkness as he was swallowed in one clean bite, making him slip on the slimey insides of the damn fucker.

He fell while trying to desperately cling to its insides tearing a whole patch of skin as a result of his uncontrollable strength before ultimately failing, causing him to fall into the abyss that was its stomach.

Falling for a few seconds. Ariel landed into a pond of dark green substance that immediately began dissolving his clothes at a frightening pace and unfortunately, with the speed he was falling at, His body fully submerged into the pool of substance.

And as you've thought, The flesh on his face melted away instantly showing his blood vessels and stuff right out of a nightmare, as they too started dissolving at a noticeable speed.

Feeling his skin melting away rapidly. The pain Ariel received was unlike anything he had ever experienced, prompting him to instantly let out a silent scream that was tuned out by the slimey substance.

Which was a really bad idea in his situation as the green fluid rushed into his mouth and continued going deeper.

At this point Ariel was going in an out of consciousness because of the pain, He couldn't even think a single thought as his sanity was chipped away bit by bit.

...…

(An unknown amount of time later )

In the insides of a slumbering beast, A pale human figure, naked and covered in slime from head to toe was floating atop the pond like a boat. Moving ever so slightly as the green substance was like a wave, that from time to time would engulf him like a starving beast, only to be met with an unbreakable skin that would not melt or dissolve no matter what it would do.

This time breaking the silence of the place, Ariel opened his eyes. Empty blue eyes staring at the convulsing skin above him, As he took in his surroundings, Ariel gripped his head roughly, before starting to scratch it. And as it went on, the scratching became more and more harsh and insane to the point that his nails dug into sides of his scalp and with him continuing, A piece of flesh came out. And another, and another, and another, and another...….

By the time Ariel stopped, both sides of his face has been carved out, showing his teeth from both sides of his cheek, painting a terrifying picture. Especially for the faint of heart.

After having enough of his torture, Ariel's face was already healing at a rapid pace, while his blue eyes. Now blank and devoid of the clarity he once had, looked around for the upteenth time. Murmuring to himself...…

"I have to get out, I.... I have to survive"

A dreadful silence filled the place before Ariel stood up on a particular patch of skin that was thick enough to hold his weight.

And unlike before, his eyes were drowning in madness, As a wide grin manifested itself onto his face...

"You'll pay your due for eating me you fucker".
